Cardinals' Michael McGreevy: Stuck with loss in final outing
McGreevy (8-4) took the loss Saturday, giving up three runs on six hits and two walks over 4.2 innings as the Cardinals were downed 7-3 by the Cubs. He struck out three.
A pair of homers by Michael Busch accounted for all the damage off McGreevy, who got the hook after 88 pitches (56 strikes). The loss was only the second for the right-hander since the beginning of August, and over his final 11 starts of 2025 he went 6-2 with a 4.16 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 39:15 K:BB in 62.2 innings, staking a solid claim to a spot in St. Louis' 2026 rotation.

Cardinals' Michael McGreevy: Allows five runs in win
McGreevy (8-3) earned the win Monday, allowing five runs on six hits and three walks over five innings against the Giants. He struck out two.
McGreevy battled through five innings Monday but wasn't sharp, giving up five runs, including home runs to Heliot Ramos and Rafael Devers. The hurler has turned in a serviceable, if unspectacular, campaign with a 4.35 ERA and 1.23 WHIP across 91 innings in 16 appearances. He's lined up to take the ball for the Cardinals' season finale Sunday against the Cubs at Wrigley Field.

Cardinals' Michael McGreevy: Fires seven scoreless in win
McGreevy (7-3) earned the win over the Reds on Tuesday, allowing three hits and three walks across seven scoreless innings. He struck out six.
McGreevy delivered the longest scoreless outing of his career (17 starts), capping it off by striking out five of the final six batters he faced. The right-hander has been a steady source of innings lately, going at least six frames in eight of his last nine starts, though he's posted a middling 3.57 ERA across 53 innings in that span due to occasional blow-up outings. On the season, the 25-year-old now owns a 4.08 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 53:15 K:BB across 86 innings. He's lined up to face the Giants in his next scheduled outing, a potentially tough matchup given San Francisco's .767 OPS against right-handers in September.

Cardinals' Michael McGreevy: Tames Mariners in no-decision
McGreevy allowed one run on five hits and no walks while striking out four batters over six innings in a no-decision against Seattle on Wednesday.
McGreevy's most recent start before Wednesday was a disaster, as he gave up six runs over a season-low four frames. The righty bounced back nicely against the Mariners, holding them without an extra-base hit over his six innings. McGreevy finished with his sixth quality start through 14 outings this season, but the Cardinals' offense produced only one run while he was in the contest, so he wasn't rewarded with a victory. McGreevy has been up and down while in the majors this year, posting a 4.44 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 47:12 K:BB through 79 innings.

Cardinals' Michael McGreevy: Lit up for six runs in third loss
McGreevy (6-3) took the loss Friday against the Giants, allowing six runs on nine hits and one walk in four innings. He struck out three.
McGreevy was torched during his shortest start of the year, tying a season high in hits allowed. The six runs given up were one shy of his season worst, and he pitched fewer than five innings for only the third time in 13 outings on the campaign. The right-hander owns an uninspiring 4.68 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 43:12 K:BB in 2025, though his streaming appeal should see a slight boost from matchup at pitcher-friendly T-Mobile Park against the Mariners next week.

Cardinals' Michael McGreevy: Goes six strong in win
McGreevy (6-2) earned the win against the Reds on Saturday, allowing one run on five hits and two walks without recording a strikeout over six innings.
McGreevy held the Reds in check despite generating just five whiffs on 93 pitches and failing to record a strikeout for the first time in his young career. The 25-year-old continues to work deep into games, tossing exactly six innings in all six of his August outings and posting four quality starts in the process. He'll carry a 4.17 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 40:11 K:BB across 69 frames into a home matchup with the Giants next weekend.

Cardinals' Michael McGreevy: Fans seven in no-decision
McGreevy allowed four runs on six hits and two walks while striking out seven batters over six innings in a no-decision against Pittsburgh on Monday.
Most of the damage against McGreevy came in the the third inning, when Pittsburgh belted two homers to plate three runs. The righty recovered well from that rough frame, retiring 10 of the final 11 batters he faced, with the only Pirates baserunner over that stretch being wiped out on a double play. Though McGreevy had a three-outing streak of quality starts snapped Monday, he did manage to once again give St. Louis six innings, which he's done in each of his past five starts. Over that stretch, he's compiled a decent 3.90 ERA with a 21:4 K:BB across 30 frames.

McGreevy (4-2) picked up the win in Friday's 5-0 victory over the Cubs, allowing six hits and a walk over six scoreless innings. He struck out three.
The 25-year-old righty put together his best performance of the season, firing first-pitch strikes to 19 of the 25 batters he faced and not giving up any extra-base hits while producing his second quality start on 87 pitches (54 total strikes). Since moving into the rotation on a full-time basis following the All-Star break, McGreevy has delivered two good outings and one poor one, and the overall results are a 4.56 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 10:4 K:BB over 23.2 innings. He'll look to build on Friday's effort in his next trip to the mound, which is scheduled to come at home next week against the Rockies.

McGreevy (3-2) earned the win Saturday in San Diego after giving up four runs on seven hits and one walk over six innings. He struck out four.
The right-hander surrendered runs in each of the first three frames to put St. Louis in a 4-0 hole, but he bounced back with three scoreless innings while the Cardinals offense rallied for six runs across the fifth and sixth innings. It was the third straight turn through the rotation for McGreevy, who should continue to get an extended look with the Cardinals down the stretch. In seven appearances (six starts) this season, he has a 5.08 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 23:6 K:BB over 39 innings.

Cardinals' Michael McGreevy: Coughs up seven runs in defeat
McGreevy (2-2) suffered the loss Sunday against the Padres, allowing seven runs on nine hits and two walks over 4.2 innings with two strikeouts.
After some shaky defense behind him in a first inning that saw two San Diego runs score on two hits, a walk and an error, McGreevy was never able to fully right the ship in this contest. The St. Louis right-hander wound up conceding a career-worst nine base knocks (three doubles and six singles) in this 99-pitch outing. Across 33 total frames, he now sports a 4.91 ERA, 3.27 FIP, 1.21 WHIP and 19:5 K:BB. The 25-year-old is currently slated to face the Padres again in his next start on the road next weekend.

Cardinals' Michael McGreevy: Staying in St. Louis rotation
McGreevy will remain in the Cardinals' rotation and start Sunday against the Padres, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Erick Fedde has been designated for assignment, officially clearing a spot in the St. Louis rotation. McGreevy is due for a long-term opportunity at the major-league level, having posted a 2.81 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and 35:5 K:BB over 51.1 innings covering seven starts and two relief appearances with the Cardinals since last season. The 25-year-old has put up a 3.72 ERA and 78:15 K:BB over 75 frames this year at Triple-A Memphis. McGreevy is worth scooping up in deeper fantasy leagues where he's available.
