  • Brewers' Sal Frelick: On base four times in twin bill

Frelick went 3-for-8 with a walk and two RBI across both games of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Cubs. Getting the nod in the leadoff spot for both ends of the twin bill, Frelick did his job setting the table, but the Brewers still got swept. The 25-year-old outfielder is surging in August despite missing a few games early in the month with a sore knee, slashing .348/.455/.478 over 13 contests with three doubles, a homer, a steal, eight RBI and 12 runs.

  • Brewers' Sal Frelick: Taking seat against southpaw

Frelick is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Reds. Frelick and Brice Turang will hit the bench Sunday against southpaw Andrew Abbott. Brandon Lockridge will step in for Frelick in right field and bat ninth.

  • Brewers' Sal Frelick: Swats leadoff home run

Frelick went 2-for-4 with a solo homer, two walks and three runs scored in Tuesday's win over the Pirates. Frelick began his night with a leadoff home run off Paul Skenes and tied a season high with three runs scored. Tuesday was also Frelick's second game this season drawing multiple walks. He needs one more home run to notch double digits for the first time in his young career and leads the Brewers with a .293 batting average.

  • Brewers' Sal Frelick: Taking seat Sunday

Frelick is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mets. After starting the last three games, Frelick will join Christian Yelich and Brice Turang on the bench as Milwaukee leans heavily on right-handed bats to counter Mets southpaw Sean Manaea. Brandon Lockridge will spell Frelick in right field and bat eighth.

  • Brewers' Sal Frelick: Remaining out of lineup

Frelick (knee) is out of the lineup for Monday's game against Atlanta. Frelick will take a seat for the second day in a row, after he was removed from Saturday's 8-2 win over the Nationals as a precaution when he experienced soreness in his surgically repaired left knee. According to MLB.com, the Brewers are looking into long-term solutions for Frelick to treat his knee, but he's expected to avoid a stint on the injured list and move past the issue after a few days of rest. Brandon Lockridge will draw another start in right field Monday in place of Frelick.

  • Brewers' Sal Frelick: Removed with sore knee

Frelick was removed from Saturday's game against the Nationals due to left knee soreness. The Brewers are labeling Frelick's removal as precautionary, which could signal that his injury is relatively minor. If the 25-year-old ends up having to miss any amount of time, Brandon Lockridge would be the likely choice to pick up starts in right field.

  • Brewers' Sal Frelick: Out of Sunday's lineup

Frelick is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Marlins. Frelick was reinstated from the injured list Saturday after missing a couple weeks due to a hamstring strain, and he went 1-for-4 with a strikeout in his return to the lineup. Christian Yelich will receive a start in the outfield Sunday, opening up the DH spot for William Contreras.

  • Brewers' Sal Frelick: Comes off IL

The Brewers activated Frelick (hamstring) off the 10-day injured list Saturday. Frelick suffered a Grade 1 left hamstring strain in the Brewers' final game before the All-Star break, so he'll end up missing only seven games due to the extra time off. Blake Perkins has been a near-everyday part of the Brewers' lineup while Frelick has been out, but the former will likely see a reduction in playing time now that the team's starting outfield is healthy. Tyler Black was optioned to the minors Saturday to make room for Frelick on the 26-man roster.

  • Brewers' Sal Frelick: Expects to return Friday

Frelick (hamstring) expects to be back in the Brewers' lineup Friday, but he has some tests to pass first, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports. Frelick suffered a left hamstring strain in Milwaukee's final contest before the All-Star break, ultimately being placed on the 10-day injured list Friday, retroactive to July 15. The outfielder is eligible to return to action Friday at home versus the Marlins, and he appears confident that he will do so. Frelick will participate in batting practice prior to Tuesday's contest versus the Mariners, which will provide more clarity on his timeline to return.

  • Brewers' Sal Frelick: Placed on injured list

The Brewers placed Frelick (hamstring) on the 10-day injured list Friday, retroactive to Tuesday, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. Frelick strained his hamstring while making a sliding catch during the final game before the All-Star break. After waiting to see how he felt coming out of the break, the Brewers will now place the 25-year-old on the shelf, keeping him out for at least another week. Blake Perkins was recalled from Triple-A Nashville in a corresponding move and will likely take over as Milwaukee's primary right fielder until Frelick can return.

  • Brewers' Sal Frelick: Nursing Grade 1 hamstring strain

Frelick was diagnosed Wednesday with a Grade 1 left hamstring strain, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports. Frelick injured his hamstring Sunday in the Brewers' final game before the All-Star break. The Brewers will give Frelick a couple more days to recover before deciding ahead of Friday's game in Los Angeles whether to place him on the 10-day injured list. If Frelick requires a trip to the IL, Blake Perkins is a candidate to be called up from Triple-A Nashville to replace Frelick on the active roster.

  • Brewers' Sal Frelick: Exits early with injury

Frelick was removed in the top of the third inning of Sunday's game against the Nationals due to an apparent injury, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. He went 1-for-2 with an RBI and a stolen base prior to departing. Frelick made a sliding catch in foul territory for the first out of the third inning on a Alex Call flyball near the right-field warning track, but he was in discomfort when he tried to get up after the play. He ultimately required assistance off the field from a team trainer and was replaced in the outfield by Isaac Collins. The Brewers should have more information on the nature of Frelick's injury later Sunday, but the 25-year-old's availability for the start of Milwaukee's second-half schedule is now in question.

  • Brewers' Sal Frelick: Goes deep Tuesday

Frelick went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's win over the Dodgers. Frelick did not have any success in three at-bats against Clayton Kershaw but was able to send one out against Kirby Yates in the eighth to put the Brewers up 3-1. Frelick now has three homers in his last nine games after hitting just four across his first 80. He has showcased above-average contact skills all season long highlighted by a .293 batting average, and his 12.8 strikeout percentage is currently the eighth lowest in all of baseball.

  • Brewers' Sal Frelick: Season-high three runs scored

Frelick went 3-for-5 with two RBI and three runs scored in Friday's 17-6 win over the Twins. Frelick delivered his fifth game of the year with at least three knocks, and he also established a season high in runs scored. Friday marked the outfielder's seventh contest in a row in the leadoff spot, so he appears to be settling into that lineup placement. During that span, Frelick is batting a scorching .355 with two doubles, seven RBI, seven runs scored and two stolen bases across 31 at-bats.

  • Brewers' Sal Frelick: Swipes 13th bag

Frelick went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and a stolen base in Friday's 3-2 win over the Cardinals. The 25-year-old sparked the Milwaukee offense from the leadoff spot for a second straight game, with a struggling Brice Turang (.188/.290/.237 over his last 22 games) bumped down to the seventh spot in the order. Frelick, by contrast, has been locked in since mid-May, slashing .344/.384/.441 over his last 25 contests with two of his four homers and five of his 13 steals on the season. As long as he keeps delivering at the plate, Frelick figures to remain at the top of the lineup against right-handed pitching.

  • Brewers' Sal Frelick: Goes deep Tuesday

Frelick went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's loss to the Reds. Frelick took Hunter Greene yard in the fourth to extend the Reds' lead to 2-0. It's his fourth home run of the season, which sets a new career high for the 25-year-old. Frelick has tallied a hit in nine of his last 10 games, though Tuesday's homer was just his second extra-base hit over that span. Frelick has maintained an excellent eye at the plate over the course of the season thus far and his 12.1 strikeout percentage sits just outside the top 15 in MLB.

  • Brewers' Sal Frelick: Four hits against hometown club

Frelick went 4-for-5 with two runs scored in Wednesday's 6-5 extra-inning win over the Red Sox. The Boston native wrapped up a three-game series against his hometown team having gone 6-for-10, although all six knocks were singles. While Frelick will never be mistaken for a power hitter, his 30.8 percent hard-hit rate in 2025 is a huge improvement on last year's 19.5 percent mark -- second-lowest in the majors, ahead of only Nicky Lopez -- and it's fueling a .294/.362/.401 slash line with three homers, 10 steals, 18 RBI and 22 runs in 54 contests.

  • Brewers' Sal Frelick: Fills box score Tuesday

Frelick went 1-for-2 with a two-run home run, two walks, a stolen base and an additional run scored in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Orioles. Frelick socked his third homer of the season while also tallying at least one hit for the seventh time in his last nine games. Over this period, the outfielder is batting .281 (9-for-32) with two homers, five RBI, three runs scored and two stolen bases. The continued absences of both Garrett Mitchell (oblique) and Blake Perkins (shin) should solidify Frelick's playing time, at least until Milwaukee's outfield gets healthier.

  • Brewers' Sal Frelick: Aiming to return Friday

Frelick (knee) hopes to return to the Brewers lineup Friday in Tampa Bay, Jack Stern of BrewerFanatic.com reports. Frelick is dealing with left knee inflammation and has been ruled out for the remainder of the Brewers' series against the Astros that runs through Wednesday. Milwaukee has a team off day Thursday, which will allow Frelick a fourth day of rest before he tries to return to action Friday for the start of the team's road trip.

  • Brewers' Sal Frelick: Requires MRI for knee injury

Brewers manager Pat Murphy said after Sunday's 4-0 win over the Cubs that Frelick will undergo an MRI on his left knee, Sophia Minnaert of FanDuel Sports Network Wisconsin reports. Frelick flied out in the second inning and appeared to tweak his knee at one point during the plate appearance. He initially stayed in the game, but the Brewers pulled him from the contest prior to the fourth inning and attributed his early exit to left knee discomfort. The Brewers should have a firmer diagnosis available for Frelick once the results of the MRI are read, but the fact that he required additional testing doesn't seem to bode well for his chances of being available for Monday's series opener versus the Astros.
