Braves' Bryce Elder: Pummeled by White Sox on Tuesday
Elder didn't factor into the decision Tuesday against the White Sox, allowing eight runs on nine hits and two walks in 4.2 innings. He struck out three.
While Elder did toss three clean innings during Tuesday's outing, the White Sox tagged the hurler for three runs in the third frame and five runs in the fifth. It was the third time this season that the right-hander yielded at least eight runs, and each of those instances have come in his last nine starts. Elder has a 7.45 ERA, 1.76 WHIP and 57:30 K:BB over 67.2 innings since the beginning of June, so he doesn't project as the most enticing streaming option for next week's scheduled appearance in Miami.

Braves' Bryce Elder: Rights ship with win
Elder (5-9) picked up the win Thursday against the Mets, allowing three runs (two earned) on five hits and two walks across seven innings. He struck out six.
Elder snapped a streak of three consecutive losses Thursday, delivering a quality start and completing seven innings for the first time in 10 appearances. The 26-year-old has been inconsistent in his last eight starts, allowing five or more earned runs three times and fewer than three earned runs three times during that stretch. On the year, Elder has a 5.89 ERA and an 87:41 K:BB across 107 innings. He's tentatively scheduled to face the White Sox next time out.

Braves' Bryce Elder: Takes third straight loss
Elder (4-9) took the loss against Miami on Friday, allowing five runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out three over six innings.
Elder was under pressure for most of the outing, frequently working with runners on base, and Miami took advantage by scoring in three straight frames. Heriberto Hernandez launched a two-run homer against Elder in the fifth inning. The right-hander has struggled mightily since the All-Star break, posting an 8.69 ERA with six losses and eight home runs allowed over 39.1 innings in eight starts. He's lined up to face the Mets on the road in his next outing.

Braves' Bryce Elder: Stuck with loss in quality start
Elder (4-8) took the loss Friday, giving up two runs on four hits and two walks over 6.2 innings as Atlanta was downed 3-2 by the Reds. He struck out five.
The right-hander pitched well and kept Cincinnati off the board until the sixth inning, though a lack of run support forced Elder to settle for his seventh quality start of the year but not a win. It was a solid rebound effort after he'd been shellacked for eight runs in 2.2 innings in his prior outing, but Elder still carries a 7.38 ERA, 1.84 WHIP and 45:24 K:BB through 50 innings since he rejoined the big-league staff at the beginning of June. Injuries will keep Elder in the rotation, but his volatility makes him a risky fantasy option heading into his next start, which lines up to come at home next week against the Marlins.

Braves' Bryce Elder: Lit up in loss
Elder (4-7) allowed eight runs on six hits and four walks while striking out three over 2.2 innings to take the loss Sunday versus Texas.
Elder got into trouble in the first inning, allowing a three-run double to Wyatt Langford. The Rangers didn't slow down until they chased Elder in the third. The 26-year-old has allowed 17 runs over 19.1 innings across four starts in July, and he fell short of the four-inning mark for the third time in seven outings with Sunday's poor performance. Overall, he's at a 6.29 ERA, 1.61 WHIP and 73:35 K:BB through 87.1 innings over 17 starts. Atlanta's rotation has been hammered by injuries -- Elder is one of three healthy starters currently on the roster, which is likely to need reinforcements over the coming week. Elder's next start is projected to be on the road at Cincinnati.

Braves' Bryce Elder: Tallies fourth win
Elder (4-6) allowed three runs on eight hits and three walks over five innings and picked up the win Monday against San Francisco. He struck out one.
Elder was not sharp in this 108-pitch outing but benefitted from facing off against Giants starter Hayden Birdsong, who failed to record an out, allowing the Atlanta lineup to plate five runs in the first. Since a magnificent 12-strikeout performance at San Francisco on June 7, Elder has struggled with a 8.89 ERA, 1.94 WHIP and 21:15 K:BB over 27.1 innings. Across 84.2 total innings, the former All-Star sports a 5.63 ERA, 1.55 WHIP and 70:31 K:BB, making him difficult to roster in any fantasy league. The Atlanta right-hander currently lines up to make his next start at Texas this weekend.

Braves' Bryce Elder: Fans seven in victory
Elder (3-6) earned the win over the Athletics on Wednesday, allowing two runs on eight hits and one walk while striking out seven batters over 6.2 innings.
Elder logged his second-longest outing of the season, trailing only his eight-inning, 12-strikeout performance against San Francisco on June 7. The right-hander racked up an outstanding 24 whiffs Wednesday, setting a new career-high mark in that category. Elder was in dire need of a positive performance, as he had logged a 12.64 ERA, 2.81 WHIP and 13:11 K:BB over his previous four starts spanning 15.2 frames.

Braves' Bryce Elder: Another poor showing in sixth loss
Elder (2-6) was charged with the loss Thursday against the Angels, giving up four runs on eight hits and three walks in five innings. He struck out five.
Elder's rough stretch dragged on, as he allowed at least four runs and seven hits in his fourth straight outing. His ERA once stood at a palatable 4.08 for the season following a brilliant 12-strikeout performance June 7, but that figure has since ballooned to 5.92. The right-hander has a disastrous 12.64 ERA, 2.81 WHIP and 13:11 K:BB over his last four appearances (15.2 frames), so he doesn't shape up as a particularly appealing fantasy option against the Athletics at hitter-friendly Sutter Health Park his next time out.

Braves' Bryce Elder: Rain delay leads to disaster
Elder (2-5) took the loss Friday, surrendering 10 runs (nine earned) on eight hits and four walks over two-plus innings in a 13-0 loss to the Phillies. He struck out two.
The right-hander had already warmed up when the first pitch was delayed over two hours by rain, and while the Phillies elected not to send scheduled starter Mick Abel to the mound and went with a bullpen game instead, Atlanta stuck with Elder to disastrous results. While this was the worst outing of his big-league career, the 26-year-old had been struggling coming into Friday, getting tagged for nine runs in 8.2 innings over his prior two trips to the mound. The three-start collapse has sent his ERA soaring from 4.08 to 5.82, but Atlanta's lack of healthy rotation options will likely provide him with more job security than his recent performances warrant. Elder will try to get back on track in his next outing, which lines up to come at home next week against the Angels.

Braves' Bryce Elder: Falls to Miami
Elder (2-4) took the loss Sunday against the Marlins, allowing five runs on 10 hits and a walk over 5.1 innings. He struck out four.
Elder's struggled of late, allowing nine runs on 17 hits across 8.2 innings in his last two outings. His ERA has jumped to 4.77 with a 1.33 WHIP and 55:20 K:BB across 12 starts (66 innings) this season. Despite his recent struggles, Elder is expected to remain in Atlanta's rotation with AJ Smith-Shawver (elbow) out for the year. He's currently lined up for a tough home matchup with the Phillies in his next outing.

Braves' Bryce Elder: Stumbles vs. Rockies on Friday
Elder took a no-decision Friday against the Rockies, giving up four runs on seven hits and three walks in 3.1 innings. He struck out two.
On the heels of fanning a career-high 12 in his last start, Elder floundered in a favorable spot at home versus the woeful Rockies. The 26-year-old right-hander's two punchouts matched a season low, and he tossed a season-low 3.1 frames. Elder holds a serviceable 4.35 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 51:19 K:BB across 60.2 innings in 2025. He projects to next face a Mets team that's slugging a robust .471 against righties over their last 34 games.

Braves' Bryce Elder: Sets career high in strikeouts
Elder did not factor into the decision Saturday, allowing one run on three hits and no walks over eight innings against San Francisco. He struck out 12.
The right-hander delivered his most dominant outing of the season, setting a career high with 12 strikeouts while allowing just one run on a Wilmer Flores homer in the fourth inning. Elder has bounced between the majors and Triple-A, but he's shown improvement as the season has progressed, posting a 2.97 ERA and 0.96 WHIP over his past five starts with Atlanta. The 26-year-old should remain in the rotation with AJ Smith-Shawver (elbow) out.

Braves' Bryce Elder: Falls to Red Sox in return
Elder (2-3) took the loss Sunday against the Red Sox, allowing three runs on six hits and three walks over 5.1 innings. He struck out four.
Elder got off to a rocky start Sunday, giving up a three-run, two-out triple to Trevor Story in the first inning. While the right-hander managed to limit the damage from there, Atlanta couldn't climb out of the early hole in an eventual 3-1 defeat. Elder pitched well in his first stint in the majors earlier this season, posting a quality start in four of his last five outings before returning to Triple-A. With AJ Smith-Shawver (elbow) slated for season-ending surgery, Elder figures to remain in Atlanta's rotation moving forward. His ERA sits at 4.56 with a 1.30 WHIP and 37:16 K:BB across nine starts (49.1 innings) this year.

Braves' Bryce Elder: Promoted for Sunday's start
Atlanta recalled Elder from Triple-A Gwinnett to start Sunday's game against the Red Sox.
The right-hander will fill the rotation spot vacated by AJ Smith-Shawver, who will miss the rest of the season due to a torn UCL in his right elbow. Elder has been serviceable in his eight starts for Atlanta this season with a 4.50 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 33:13 K:BB across 44 innings, and he should get an extended look in the rotation.

Braves' Bryce Elder: Rejoining rotation
Atlanta will recall Elder from Triple-A Gwinnett to start Sunday's game against the Red Sox, Gabe Burns of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
With AJ Smith-Shawver out for the season due to a torn UCL in his right elbow, Elder is scheduled to come up from the minors to fill the opening in Atlanta's rotation. The 26-year-old has made eight starts in the majors this season and owns a 4.50 ERA and 1.25 WHIP alongside a 33:13 K:BB across 44 innings.
