Tovar went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run in Friday's 6-3 loss to the Giants.
Tovar got the Rockies on the board with a fifth-inning homer, but that was their only scoring play of the game. This was his first long ball in nearly a month -- his last came Aug. 28 versus the Astros, and he hit a modest .233 (20-for-86) with just two doubles and seven RBI over the 25 games between homers. The shortstop is up to nine homers, 33 RBI, 44 runs scored, five stolen bases and a .256/.299/.402 slash line over 93 contests this season.

Rockies' Ezequiel Tovar: Knocks in two
Tovar went 1-for-3 with two RBI on Tuesday against the Mariners.
Tovar went through a six-game hitless streak in mid-September, but he's followed that by collecting at least one hit in six of his last eight starts. He delivered a two-RBI single in the sixth inning of Tuesday's contest, giving him four RBI in that same eight-game span. Tovar is wrapping up a disappointing season, posting only 29 extra-base hits and a .141 ISO across 370 plate appearances.

Rockies' Ezequiel Tovar: Ends skid at plate
Tovar went 2-for-5 with a double, an RBI and two runs scored Sunday against the Padres.
Tovar entered Sunday's game hitless in his last six starts -- all of which came on the road -- while also striking out 12 times across 19 at-bats in that span. He ended that stretch with a single in the sixth inning and then delivered an RBI double one frame later. Tovar is still hitting .250 since Sept. 1 and now has three RBI and five runs scored with a stolen base in that 13-game span.

Rockies' Ezequiel Tovar: Rips three hits in loss
Tovar went 3-for-3 with a walk in Saturday's 10-8 loss to the Padres.
Tovar's got a hot bat -- he's logged four multi-hit efforts while going 12-for-33 (.364) over his last nine games. While he's posted just two extra-base hits and two RBI in that span, the consistency at the plate is encouraging, though most of the hot streak has come at home. He's up to a .272/.314/.434 slash line with eight homers, 24 RBI, 39 runs scored and four stolen bases over 75 contests. Like many Rockies hitters, he's had some extreme home-road splits this year with a .947 OPS at Coors Field and a .532 OPS away from home.

Rockies' Ezequiel Tovar: Cranks solo shot in defeat
Tovar went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Thursday's 4-3 loss to the Astros.
It was a much-needed jolt for Tovar, who had just one hit in his last 18 at-bats entering Thursday's action. The defensive-minded shortstop has put up respectable numbers since the start of July, batting .263 with 16 extra-base hits, 13 RBI, 21 runs scored and two stolen bases over his last 133 at-bats. Colorado's next nine games will come at Coors Field, which offers Tovar a prime opportunity to build on those figures. He has a .973 OPS at home as opposed to a .532 OPS on the road in 2025.

Rockies' Ezequiel Tovar: Torments Yamamoto again
Tovar went 2-for-4 with a double, a solo home run and an additional run in a 4-3 win against the Dodgers on Monday.
Tovar had both of the Rockies' extra-base hits -- a seventh-inning homer that tied the score and a ninth-inning pop-fly double that led to him crossing the plate with the winning run one batter later. The long ball came against Dodgers All-Star hurler Yoshinobu Yamamoto, who Tovar has pestered to the tune of a 7-for-10 line and two home runs in their head-to-head matchups. Tovar also snapped a 19-game homerless stretch Monday, though he hit well enough with a .276 average and eight doubles during that span.

Tovar's streak of 15 straight starts at shortstop will come to an end Friday. He's yielding to Ryan Ritter, who was just activated from the injured list. During that 15-game stretch, Tovar went 18-for-61 (.295) with eight doubles and two stolen bases.

Tovar went 3-for-4 with two doubles and two runs scored in Sunday's 13-6 loss to the Diamondbacks.
Tovar went 5-for-12 over this three-game series versus Arizona, though he supplied just one RBI in that stretch. He's up to five multi-hit efforts in August, batting .405 (15-for-37) over nine contests this month. The shortstop is up to a .284/.324/.468 slash line with six home runs, four stolen bases, 20 RBI and 29 runs scored over 216 plate appearances. His .792 OPS is the highest it has been since May 26.

Rockies' Ezequiel Tovar: Notches steal in loss
Tovar went 2-for-4 with a walk, one RBI, one stolen base and one run scored in Saturday's 6-5 loss to the Diamondbacks.
This was Tovar's fourth multi-hit effort over eight games in August. He's now batting .364 (12-for-33) for the month while adding six doubles, five RBI and two steals. Overall, the shortstop appears to be settling in nicely during the second half after an injury-plagued first three months of the season. He's now slashing .274/.316/.452 with six homers, 20 RBI, 27 runs scored and four steals over 50 contests in 2025.

Rockies' Ezequiel Tovar: Knocks four doubles in win
Tovar went 4-for-6 with four doubles, two runs scored and two RBI during Friday's 17-16 win over the Pirates.
Tovar snapped a couple of long streaks in a big way during Friday's comeback victory. First, he had his first multi-hit game in nine outings. Second, the 24-year-old had his first game with multiple extra-base hits since May 17. He entered the game with just seven doubles in 42 games before bringing his total to 11 by night's end. The Colorado shortstop is now slashing .268/.309/.458 on the year.

Tovar broke a 5-5 tie with a 409-foot blast that stood as the game-winner. The 23-year-old has been hot since returning from the injured list, homering three times with five RBI and six runs scored over six games. On the season, he's slashing .267/.308/.460 with six homers, 15 RBI, 20 runs and two steals across just 162 plate appearances.
