Schmitt went 2-for-4 with a home run, a double, four RBI and two runs scored in Saturday's 7-1 win over the Brewers.
Schmitt tied the game in the sixth inning with an RBI double before launching a three-run homer in the seventh. Over 17 August contests, the 26-year-old is hitting .266 with nine extra-base hits, 12 RBI and nine runs scored, including four multi-hit efforts. For the season, he's slashing .249/.326/.424 with nine home runs, 29 RBI and 24 runs scored across 243 plate appearances.

Schmitt went 1-for-4 with a double, a walk and a run scored in Monday's 4-3 win over San Diego.
Schmitt hit a double to left field in the first inning before coming around to score one of the Giants' four runs in the frame. The 26-year-old infielder returned to action Monday after missing two straight games due to a right forearm contusion. Over 12 games this month, he's slashing .283/.353/.500 with seven RBI, six runs scored, four doubles and two home runs across 51 plate appearances. Overall, he has posted a .251/.326/.407 slash line with 24 RBI, 21 runs scored, 10 doubles and seven homers across 222 plate appearances this season.

Schmitt (forearm) is starting at third base and batting in the cleanup spot against the Padres on Monday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Schmitt was held out of the Giants' lineup for the past two games due to a right forearm contusion, but he has been cleared to return to action for Monday's series opener. The 26-year-old infielder has a .709 OPS with four doubles, three home runs and eight RBI in 82 plate appearances since the All-Star break.

Schmitt is expected to be out of the lineup for at least a couple of games after he was diagnosed Friday with a right forearm contusion, Justice delos Santos of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
Schmitt was hit by a pitch during Friday's 7-6 loss to Tampa Bay and immediately left the contest. While he avoided structural damage to his forearm and won't require a stint on the injured list, the 26-year-old will likely remain on the bench for the remainder of the series. Tyler Fitzgerald could enter the starting nine at second base in his stead Saturday.

Schmitt was removed from Friday's game against the Rays after getting hit on the elbow by a pitch, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
The extent of Schmitt's injury is currently unknown, though he wasn't able to finish his at-bat after getting plunked by a 93-mph fastball. Schmitt had nearly half of the Giants' 10 hits, as well as their lone extra-base knock. The infielder got a look in the two hole Tuesday -- the first time he's batted higher than fifth all season. He's started August 11-for-36 (.306), but it's unclear if the lineup shuffle will stick. Schmitt will officially head to the IL after missing the team's last four games with a bone bruise in his left wrist. The 26-year-old will now be sidelined for at least one more week before he'd be eligible to return to action July 7. In the meantime, Tyler Fitzgerald was recalled from Triple-A Sacramento on Monday to replace Schmitt on the major-league roster.

An MRI on Schmitt's wrist came back negative, but he's still dealing with a painful bone bruise and could use additional down time. Tyler Fitzgerald has a locker at Chase Field and it sounds like he could be added to the roster in Schmitt's place prior to Monday's game against the Diamondbacks.
