Rays' Ha-Seong Kim: Heading back to injured list
The Rays will place Kim (back) on the 10-day injured list Thursday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Kim was scratched from Wednesday's lineup with back tightness and evidently the injury is bad enough to require another trip to the IL for the veteran infielder. The 29-year-old Kim has been limited to only 29 games this season due to myriad injuries, and he's slashed just .214/.290/.321 in those contests. It's not clear how long Kim will be sidelined this time around. Top prospect Carson Williams will take Kim's spot on the active roster.

Rays' Ha-Seong Kim: Dealing with back tightness
Kim was scratched from Wednesday's lineup against the Yankees due to lower-back tightness, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Kim spent time on the injured list with a lower-back strain at the end of July before he was activated Aug. 1. It's been a season full of injuries for the 29-year-old shortstop, as he's also dealt with calf, shoulder and hamstring issues, limiting Kim to just 23 games to this point. It's unclear if Kim will need another IL stint this time around. Tristan Gray is at shortstop for Tampa Bay on Wednesday.

Rays' Ha-Seong Kim: Scratched from Wednesday's lineup
Kim was scratched from the Rays' lineup against the Yankees on Wednesday due to an undisclosed reason.
Expect the team to provide an explanation for Kim's late removal from the lineup following Wednesday's contest. As a result of Kim being scratched, Tristan Gray will start at shortstop and bat ninth. Kim has logged at least one hit in four of his last five games, going 6-for-20 with a double and two steals over that span.

Rays' Ha-Seong Kim: Nabs steal in win
Kim went 1-for-4 with a stolen base in Saturday's 2-1 win over the Giants.
Kim has logged a steal in two of his last three games, going 4-for-11 in that span. The 29-year-old has regained a starting job at shortstop since returning from a stint on the injured list due to lower-back tightness at the start of August. Kim should be able to keep the job a while longer while Taylor Walls (groin) is out. For the season, Kim has a poor .213/.298/.333 slash line with two home runs, six steals, five RBI and five runs scored over 84 plate appearances, though he's been bothered by a handful of injuries throughout the campaign.

Rays' Ha-Seong Kim: Back on IL
The Rays placed Kim on the 10-day injured list Friday due to a low back strain, retroactive to Tuesday.
Kim left Monday's game against the White Sox due to lower-back tightness, and he will go on the IL after missing the Rays' last three games. It's the 29-year-old's second stint on the IL this season after he missed the first half of the year while recovering from offseason shoulder surgery, plus a calf injury in early July has limited him to just 10 games with the Rays this year. Kim did go through a pregame workout before Friday's contest against the Reds, so he could be facing a short stint on the IL. The Rays reinstated Jonny DeLuca (shoulder) from the 60-day IL in a corresponding move.
