Guardians' Nolan Jones: Could miss significant time
Guardians manager Stephen Vogt said Thursday that Jones (oblique) will be "out a while," MLB.com reports.
Jones is eligible to return Oct. 1, which means he could be available for the postseason should Cleveland qualify, but Vogt's comments imply a longer time frame. Jones was removed from a game Sept. 19 after feeling pain in his side while swinging.

Guardians' Nolan Jones: Out with oblique strain
The Guardians placed Jones on the 10-day injured list Saturday with a right oblique strain.
With only nine days remaining, Jones' move to the IL will cause him to miss the rest of the regular season. He'll finish the 2025 campaign with a .211/.296/.304 batting line alongside five homers, 34 RBI, 34 runs scored and eight steals across 403 plate appearances. Petey Halpin was promoted from Triple-A Columbus to replenish Cleveland's outfield depth.

Guardians' Nolan Jones: Taking seat Wednesday
Jones is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's contest versus the Royals.
Jones had been in the lineup for each of the previous six contests but went only 4-for-20 with seven strikeouts over that stretch. C.J. Kayfus will start in right field for the Guardians on Wednesday.

Guardians' Nolan Jones: Sitting after six straight starts
Jones is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Guardians.
Jones will head to the bench after he had started in each of the last six games while going 6-for-22 with a pair of solo home runs, a double, a stolen base and three additional runs. Though Jones appears to have played his way into a regular spot in the lineup against right-handed pitching, he could see his playing time dwindle if his bat has cooled down by the time Lane Thomas (foot) is ready to return from the injured list.

Guardians' Nolan Jones: Drawing fourth straight start
Jones will start in center field and bat fifth in Sunday's game against the Mariners.
Jones will remain in the starting nine for the fourth game in a row after going 5-for-11 with a pair of solo home runs, one double and one stolen base over the previous three contests. Though the Guardians appear to be prioritizing Jones ahead of Angel Martinez for the final spot in their outfield against right-handed pitching, Jones is still sitting on an unremarkable .632 OPS for the season and will be at risk of losing playing time if Lane Thomas (foot) makes it back in September.

Guardians' Nolan Jones: Goes deep again in win
Jones with 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a double and an additional run scored in Friday's 5-4 win over the Mariners.
Jones launched a 402-foot homer in the seventh inning before adding a leadoff double and scoring the tying run in the ninth. The 27-year-old opened August in a 4-for-30 slump but has gone 4-for-8 with two homers over his past two contests. For the season, he's slashing .219/.311/.321 with five long balls, 31 RBI, 31 runs scored and seven steals across 348 plate appearances.

Guardians' Nolan Jones: Unlikely hero Wednesday
Jones went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 4-3 extra-inning win over the Rays.
With Cleveland down 3-2 in the bottom of the ninth inning, Jones stepped to the plate against Tampa Bay closer Pete Fairbanks and crushed a slider 428 feet over the right-field fence. It was only the fourth homer of the season for Jones and his first since June 13, snapping a 53-game power drought in which he'd managed just a .210/.315/.261 slash line. While Wednesday's heroics offer a rare bright spot in a dismal season, the 27-year-old outfielder is still a long way from regaining a regular spot in the Guardians lineup.

Guardians' Nolan Jones: Sitting after three straight starts
Jones is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks.
Jones had started in each of the Guardians' last three games and went 3-for-10 with two walks, one run and one RBI, but he'll head to the bench for the series finale. The 27-year-old appears to be stuck in a part-time role while the Guardians have been opening up steady at-bats for the likes of C.J. Kayfus, Daniel Schneemann and Angel Martinez.

Guardians' Nolan Jones: Shifts into bench role
Jones is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Twins.
With Steven Kwan staying put at the trade deadline and prospect C.J. Kayfus getting promoted from Triple-A Columbus on Saturday, Jones looks set to fall into a bench role. He'll be on the bench for a third straight matchup with a right-handed pitcher (Jose Urena) while Kayfus receives the start in right field.
