  • Rays' Josh Lowe: Swipes pair of bases

Lowe went 1-for-3 with a single, a run scored and two stolen bases during Sunday's 7-2 win over the Cardinals. Lowe's two steals tied his career high, a feat he had accomplished just two times before. The 26-year-old now has 16 steals on the campaign, and he's swiped a bag in three consecutive contests. In August, Lowe is 13-for-61 (.213) with five doubles, eight runs and eight stolen bases.

  • Rays' Josh Lowe: Back in lineup

Lowe (oblique) will start in right field and bat fifth in Wednesday's game versus the Yankees. Lowe has been held out of the previous three contests due to right oblique tightness, but he's feeling much better and will give it a go in Wednesday's series finale. The outfielder will enter play Wednesday slashing just .174/.220/.261so far in August.

  • Rays' Josh Lowe: Out Sunday with tight oblique

Lowe (oblique) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Giants, Ryan Bass of FanDuel Sports Network Sun reports. Lowe will take a seat for the second day in a row after he was scratched from the lineup ahead of Saturday's 2-1 win when he felt his right oblique tighten up while taking swings in the batting cage prior to the game. According to Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times, Lowe said he doesn't expect to require a stint on the injured list due to the oblique issue, though the Rays' plans for him could change if he's unable to return to the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Yankees following Monday's team off day.

  • Rays' Josh Lowe: Late scratch Saturday

Lowe has been removed from the starting lineup ahead of Saturday's game versus San Francisco, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports. Lowe was originally penciled in to play right field and bat sixth, but he was scratched about an hour before the start of the contest. It's not immediately clear if his removal was due to an injury or for another reason. In Lowe's stead, Jake Mangum is sliding over from center field to right while Everson Pereira is getting a start in center.

  • Rays' Josh Lowe: Swipes 12th bag

Lowe went 1-for-5 with a double, an RBI, two runs scored and a stolen base Wednesday against the Athletics. Lowe drove in a run with a ground-rule double in the first inning and then stole second base in the ninth frame. He has struggled to get on track at the plate for much of the season, though he has a double in three consecutive games. Lowe has also gotten more aggressive on the basepaths, as six of his 12 stolen bases for the campaign have come in his last 15 games.

  • Rays' Josh Lowe: Pops seventh homer

Lowe went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run and a walk Wednesday against the Yankees. Lowe has struggled for most of the season but has shown some modest signs of turning things around of late. He has at least one hit in six of his last seven games, going 8-for-25 with a home run, five RBI, two runs scored and one stolen base. Lowe still has only seven home runs with a .152 ISO across 255 plate appearances on the campaign.

  • Rays' Josh Lowe: Breaking out of slump

Lowe went 2-for-4 with an RBI, a walk and a stolen base Monday against the Yankees. Lowe has had a poor July, but he's on a strong five-game run. He's gone 6-for-17 with three RBI and a stolen base in that span, with Monday's pilfer marking his seventh of the season. Lowe has settled into the fifth spot in the order against right-handed pitching but still sits against most lefties.

  • Rays' Josh Lowe: Smacks solo homer

Lowe went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 6-5 win over the Athletics. Lowe tied things up at 2-2 in the sixth inning, when he took the first pitch he saw from Mitch Spence deep to center field for a solo homer. It was Lowe's sixth home run of the season, three of which have come since June 16. He has reached base safely in seven of his last eight games, and over that span he has gone 13-for-30 (.433) with one steal, two home runs and three RBI.

Over his past 10 games, the 27-year-old has hit safely seven times with three extra-base hits, five RBI, nine runs scored and two steals. On the season, he's slashing .254/.333/.403 with four homers, 13 RBI, 25 runs scored and six stolen bases across 151 plate appearances.

  • Rays' Josh Lowe: Getting night off

Lowe is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Orioles. • Rays' Josh Lowe: Belts homer among three hits

Lowe went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run, a walk and three total runs in Saturday's 16-3 romp over the Astros. Lowe's homer was a two-run shot in the seventh inning, and he added two singles for his second three-hit performance of the campaign. The veteran outfielder extended his on-base streak to eight games, and during that stretch he's batting .387 with two homers, three RBI, 10 runs and two stolen bases. Lowe's slash line is up to .327/.393/.545 on the season, though it's a relatively small sample size (61 plate appearances) since he missed about six weeks earlier in the campaign due to an oblique injury.

  • Rays' Josh Lowe: Out of lineup Monday

Lowe isn't part of the starting lineup for Monday's game against Minnesota, Brian Murphy of MLB.com reports. Lowe's streak of five consecutive starts comes to an end Monday, and he'll give up right field duties to Christopher Morel to kick off a three-game set against the Twins. Lowe went 5-for-19 with a home run, a steal and two doubles during that five-game stretch.

  • Rays' Josh Lowe: Getting Monday off

Lowe is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Astros. Lowe had started in each of the Rays' four games since being activated from the 10-day injured list Thursday, going 5-for-17 with a home run, a double and a walk. Now that he's healthy again after missing about a month and a half while recovering from the oblique strain he suffered Opening Day, Lowe should play on a near-everyday basis, though the Rays may occasionally hold him out of the lineup against lefties such as the Astros' Colton Gordon, who is on the mound Monday.

  • Rays' Josh Lowe: Activated from 10-day IL

The Rays activated Lowe (oblique) from the 10-day injured list Thursday. He will start at designated hitter and serve as the Rays' leadoff batter in the team's series finale in Toronto, Ryan Bass of FanDuel Sports Network Sun reports. The Rays had been expected to wait until Friday to activate Lowe, but with Travis Jankowski (groin) landing on the IL, the club has brought back Lowe a day early. Lowe has been out since late March after straining his oblique Opening Day, but he looked sharp in six rehab games, hitting two home runs and stealing one base with a 6:7 BB:K. Though the 27-year-old will be eased back in Thursday as the team's DH, he should eventually settle in as the Rays' regular right fielder against right-handed pitching.

  • Rays' Josh Lowe: Tracking toward return this weekend

Lowe (oblique) could be activated from the 10-day injured list ahead of the Rays' series in Miami against the Marlins this weekend, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports. Lowe has gone 2-for-9 with a 4:3 K:BB in his first three rehab games with Triple-A Durham. He will remain with Durham for a couple more days before rejoining the Rays' active roster this weekend if all goes well. Lowe has been out since late March after suffering a Grade 2 right oblique strain Opening Day.

  • Rays' Josh Lowe: Not playing rehab games

Lowe (oblique) has been dealing with back spasms over the past couple of days and hasn't been playing in rehab games, Ryan Bass of FanDuel Sports Network Sun reports. Lowe received an injection to help treat his back and will be shut down for a few days before being re-evaluated. The 27-year-old outfielder has been on the injured list since suffering a right oblique strain Opening Day, and his latest setback makes it more difficult to predict when he'll be able to rejoin the Rays.

  • Rays' Josh Lowe: Lands on IL

The Rays placed Lowe on the 10-day injured list Saturday with a right oblique strain, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports. Lowe injured himself on a swing during Friday's contest, and an MRI revealed a Grade 2 strain in his oblique, per Ryan Bass of FanDuel Sports Network Sun. It's unclear exactly how long the 27-year-old will be out, but there's a good chance he'll need to spend several weeks on the IL. In the meantime, Kameron Misner could pick up regular playing time in right field, while Jake Mangum will come up from Triple-A Durham to replenish Tampa Bay's outfield depth.

  • Rays' Josh Lowe: Starting versus lefty in opener

Lowe is starting in right field and batting seventh in Friday's opener against the Rockies. The Rays seemed to telegraph that they intended to use the left-handed hitting Lowe as an everyday player with how they constructed their roster, and he is indeed in there versus southpaw Kyle Freeland on Opening Day. Lowe has a career .193/.252/.287 slash line against left-handed pitching, so he has some work to do to avoid being platooned.

  • Rays' Josh Lowe: Out against left-hander

Lowe is not in the lineup for Tuesday's contest in Detroit. With southpaw Tarik Skubal on the hill for the Tigers, the left-handed-hitting Lowe will begin the festivities on the bench. Jonny DeLuca will patrol right field for the Rays.
