Rockies' Mickey Moniak: Sitting against RHP
Moniak is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the Pirates.
Moniak isn't part of the starting lineup against a right-handed pitcher for the first time since July 12. The outfielder will be on the bench for the second time in three games. With Moniak idle, the Rockies will deploy Tyler Freeman in right field.

Rockies' Mickey Moniak: Idle against lefty
Moniak is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Dodgers.
The left-handed-hitting Moniak had been included in the lineup for each of the last six games while the Rockies went up against right-handed starting pitchers, but he'll take a seat Thursday with southpaw Clayton Kershaw toeing the rubber for Los Angeles. Tyler Freeman will cover right field in place of Moniak, which opens up a spot in the lineup for Kyle Farmer at designated hitter.

Rockies' Mickey Moniak: Delivers key hit
Moniak went 1-for-4 with two RBI on Sunday against the Diamondbacks.
Moniak has started four of the Rockies' last five games, hitting either second or leadoff on each occasion. He's gone 4-for-15 in that small sample while homering, knocking in four and scoring one run. Monaik also delivered a key two-RBI single in the seventh inning Sunday to give Colorado the lead.

Rockies' Mickey Moniak: Slugs 18th homer
Moniak went 2-for-5 with a solo home run Wednesday against the Cardinals.
Moniak led off the sixth inning with his 18th home run of the season and his fifth in 19 starts since the All-Star break. He continues to occupy a large-side platoon for the Rockies and has maintained an impressive .257 ISO across 333 plate appearances this season. While his .264/.306/.521 slash line is aided by hitter-friendly Coors Field -- particularly his batting average -- seven of Moniak's long balls have come on the road.

Rockies' Mickey Moniak: Out again versus lefty
Moniak is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Blue Jays.
Southpaw Eric Lauer is on the bump for the Blue Jays, and the left-handed-hitting Moniak has now been absent from the lineup three of the last four times the Rockies have faced a left-handed starter. Tyler Freeman will handle right field and Braxton Fulford will serve as the designated hitter for the Rockies in Monday's series opener.

Rockies' Mickey Moniak: Strong weekend series
Moniak went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run Sunday against the Pirates.
Moniak was the first of three consecutive Rockies to go yard in the sixth inning. That was his 17th home run of the season and fourth in 14 games since the All-Star break. Moniak has much better production at home this season, and he enjoyed a strong start to the current homestand by going 5-for-15 with three RBI and three runs scored across three games against the Pirates.

Rockies' Mickey Moniak: Idle against southpaw
Moniak is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Guardians.
With the Guardians sending a southpaw (Kolby Allard) to the mound for the second day in a row, the left-handed-hitting Moniak will be on the bench for a second consecutive game. Tyler Freeman will cover right field in Moniak's absence.

Rockies' Mickey Moniak: Hot stretch continues
Moniak went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, an additional RBI, an additional run scored and a walk in Tuesday's 8-4 win over the Cardinals.
Moniak opened the scoring with a solo shot off Erick Fedde in the first inning and capped it with an RBI walk in the eighth. The outfielder has been red hot in July, slashing .438/.481/.813 with a 1.293 OPS, a triple, two steals, four doubles, four homers and 11 RBI over 14 games. While there's no guarantee this surge will lead to sustained success -- Moniak had similar hot stretches with the Angels before cooling off -- his recent production has been a rare bright spot in an otherwise rough season for the Rockies.

Rockies' Mickey Moniak: Stays hot
Moniak went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Sunday against the Twins.
Moniak accounted for the Rockies' only run with his 14th home run of the season in the third inning. He now has at least one hit in 12 of his last 13 games, during which he's gone 18-for-42 (.429) with three homers, nine RBI, eight runs scored and two stolen bases. Moniak also led off Sunday with Tyler Freeman (illness) sidelined, which will be something worth monitoring if Freeman is forced to miss additional time.

Rockies' Mickey Moniak: Racks up three hits in win
Moniak went 3-for-5 with two runs scored in Saturday's 10-6 win over the Twins.
Moniak didn't let the All-Star break slow him down. He's now 16-for-36 (.444) over 11 contests in July, with four of those being multi-hit efforts. He's also collected seven extra-base hits, eight RBI and two stolen bases this month, which has been enough for him to hold onto a fairly regular role in the lineup. Moniak plays all over the outfield and occasionally at designated hitter, though those opportunities could dry up if his hitting goes cold. He's put together a steady season so far with a .268/.318/.527 slash line, 13 home runs, 35 RBI, 34 runs scored, 11 doubles, six triples and five stolen bases across 258 plate appearances.

He later knocked a two-run triple in the fifth before singling and swiping second base in the seventh. He went 6-for-11 with three extra-base hits during the weekend series against the White Sox. Rockies' Mickey Moniak: Hammers three-run shot
Moniak went 1-for-4 with a three-run homer in Sunday's win over Arizona.
Moniak's three-run blast in the fifth inning proved to be the game-deciding swing. It was his 11th long ball of the year and sixth in his last 11 appearances. He's approaching his career high of 14 home runs, which he reached in each of the previous two seasons while with the Angels. Moniak is slashing .245/.295/.500 with 22 extra-base hits and 27 RBI through 207 plate appearances.

Rockies' Mickey Moniak: Slugs homer No. 10
Moniak went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Friday's 14-8 loss to the Diamondbacks.
His 452-foot moon shot to right-center field off Zac Gallen was the big blow in a six-run fourth inning that briefly gave the Rockies a 7-6 lead. Moniak still sits against most left-handed pitchers, but he's enjoying a huge June against righties, batting .387 (12-for-31) in 10 games with five of his 10 homers on the season, along with two steals, nine runs and nine RBI.

Rockies' Mickey Moniak: Getting consistent playing time
Moniak went 1-for-4 with a solo home run, a walk and two runs scored in Tuesday's 10-6 win over the Nationals.
Moniak has now started in five of Colorado's last six games and appears to have regained a foothold in the team's regular lineup against right-handed pitching. Tyler Freeman appeared to have supplanted Moniak in right field, but the Rockies have been using Freeman at designated hitter more frequently to keep both players' bats in the lineup. Over his last seven contests, Moniak has gone 7-for-21 with four home runs, one triple, one double and one stolen base.

The 27-year-old has now homered for the third time in his last six games, hitting .470 over that stretch with five RBI. He is now slashing .237/.289/.462 for the season.

Moniak is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against Atlanta.
Though he'll take a seat against Grant Holmes in the series finale, Moniak could be gaining traction in the Rockies' lineup.
