Dodgers' Tanner Scott: Hoping to be on World Series roster
Scott (lower body) has been throwing and hopes to be included on the Dodgers' World Series roster, Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports.
Scott has not made an appearance this postseason after undergoing a lower-body abscess procedure earlier this month. It's unclear whether he will be built back up enough to be included on the roster for the World Series, which begins Friday. Scott paced the Dodgers with 23 saves during the regular season, but he had an up-and-down campaign, finishing with a 4.74 ERA and 60:18 K:BB over 57 frames.

Dodgers' Tanner Scott: Removed from NLDS roster
Scott (lower body) was replaced on the Dodgers' postseason roster by Justin Wrobleski on Thursday.
Scott has yet to make an appearance in the postseason, and manager Dave Roberts revealed Thursday that the 31-year-old reliever underwent a lower-body abscess procedure Wednesday, per Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic. Scott's removal from the NLDS roster will also make him ineligible to pitch in the NLCS if the Dodgers advance, and his availability for a potential World Series berth remains unknown.

Dodgers' Tanner Scott: Wasn't available Wednesday
Manager Dave Roberts said after Wednesday's loss against Philadelphia in Game 3 of the NLDS that Scott wasn't available due to personal reasons, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
Roberts didn't provide any details on when Scott may return, so it seems the Dodgers' bullpen will have to work around being slightly shorthanded for the time being. The 31-year-old lefty gave up six earned runs over 8.1 innings across the final month of the regular season and has yet to appear in a game this postseason.

Dodgers' Tanner Scott: Notches 23rd save
Scott gave up a hit and a walk in a scoreless ninth inning Friday to record his 23rd save of the season in a 3-2 win over the Mariners. He struck out two.
The left-hander has looked a little more stable over the last couple weeks, giving up runs in only one of his last seven appearances. Scott has still blown three of seven save chances since returning from elbow inflammation in late August, however, stumbling to a 7.15 ERA, 1.68 WHIP and 10:7 K:BB in 11.1 innings over that span. The Dodgers have plenty of other high-leverage relief options if those struggles resurface in the playoffs, including Roki Sasaki, who struck out two in a scoreless seventh inning Friday to collect his second hold and topped out at 100.1 mph with his fastball.

Dodgers' Tanner Scott: Blows save Tuesday
Scott (1-4) allowed two runs on a hit, a walk and a hit batsman over two-thirds of an inning, taking a blown save and the loss Tuesday versus the Diamondbacks.
Scott was tasked with protecting a one-run lead in the ninth inning and couldn't get the job done. He entered Tuesday with a four-inning scoreless streak, but much of that had come in lower-leverage spots after his struggles in late August and early September. Over his last 10 outings, the southpaw has allowed nine runs with a 7:6 K:BB in 7.1 innings while converting just two of five save chances. He's now at a 4.91 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 57:17 K:BB across 55 innings while converting 22 of 32 save opportunities. Manager Dave Roberts hasn't made a change at the back of his bullpen yet, but if Scott is removed from the closer role, Alex Vesia could get more save chances.

Scott allowed a hit and a walk while striking out two over a scoreless inning to earn the save in Friday's 6-3 win over the Giants.
Scott has posted four straight scoreless outings to follow a five-outing stretch in which he gave up seven runs across 2.2 innings. This was his first save since Sept. 8 -- Alex Vesia converted one Thursday, but the Dodgers haven't been in many close games over the last two weeks. Overall, Scott is now 22-for-31 in save chances this year while adding eight holds with a 4.64 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 57:16 K:BB through 54.1 innings. He needs one more save over the Dodgers' last eight games to set a career high.

Dodgers' Tanner Scott: Converts 21st save
Scott allowed one hit in a scoreless inning to earn the save in Monday's 3-1 win over the Rockies.
Scott's been in a rough patch lately, allowing four runs over his last 1.2 innings while taking a loss and two blown saves in that span. Despite the struggles, manager Dave Roberts looks to be sticking by his closer, who was able to get the job done Monday for his 21st save in 30 chances this season. Scott is at a 4.47 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 52:12 K:BB over 50.1 innings on the year, and he remains in control of the closer role, though he could face a threat to his save share when Alex Vesia (oblique) returns Tuesday.

Dodgers' Tanner Scott: Another late stumble
Scott (1-3) took the loss Friday, serving up a walk-off solo home run to Samuel Basallo in the ninth inning of a 2-1 loss to the Orioles.
The southpaw was brought in to get the game to extra innings, but after striking out Emmanuel Rivera and Dylan Beavers, Scott grooved a 98.7 mph fastball to Baltimore's young phenom and watched it sail 433 feet over the fence in right-center field. Scott has been treated like the Dodgers' closer since returning from elbow inflammation in late August, but in four appearances he's been tagged for two homers and four runs total over 3.2 innings, blowing one of two save chances in addition to taking the loss Friday. The team has plenty of other high-leverage options to handle ninth-inning duties if Scott continues to struggle.

Scott blew the save in Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Orioles, allowing two inherited runners to score on one hit without recording an out in the ninth inning.
While Blake Treinen was ultimately charged with three runs and the loss, Scott gave up a walk-off double to the only batter he faced. After looking sharp in his first two outings back from an elbow injury that sidelined him for a month, the southpaw has now blown a save or taken a loss in three straight appearances. This wasn't shaping up as a traditional save chance for Scott, as he was brought in for a high-leverage spot in the eighth inning. He wasn't up to the task, allowing a three-run home run to Corbin Carroll that tied the game at 4-4. This was Scott's eighth blown save of the year and his first in three outings since returning from a month-long absence due to an elbow issue. The lefty reliever is 20-for-28 in save chances with a 4.44 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 50:12 K:BB across 48.2 innings this season.

Dodgers' Tanner Scott: Officially activated
The Dodgers reinstated Scott (elbow) from the 15-day injured list Friday.
Scott will rejoin the active roster after a month-long stint on the IL with left elbow inflammation, pushing Matt Sauer back to Triple-A. Scott has converted on 19 of 26 save chances this season. He figures to step right back into his closing role.

Dodgers' Tanner Scott: Expected back this weekend
Scott (elbow) is expected to be activated from the 15-day injured list ahead of the Dodgers' upcoming weekend series against the Padres, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.
Scott threw one relief inning during a rehab outing with Triple-A Oklahoma City on Tuesday, and manager Dave Roberts said Wednesday that Scott will "probably not" pitch again in the minors before rejoining the big-league club. Scott hasn't pitched with Los Angeles since July 21 and holds a 4.14 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 50:11 K:BB across 45.2 innings this season. He's notched 19 saves and should be back in the closer mix once reinstated.
