  • Cubs' Kyle Tucker: Belts two homers in blowout win

Tucker went 3-for-5 with two home runs, a double and five RBI in Saturday's 12-1 win over the Angels.

Tucker has homered three times over the last two games, which comes just after he was given a break to reset amid a prolonged power slump. The outfielder opened the scoring with a two-run homer in the third inning and followed it up with a three-run blast in the sixth. A hairline fracture in his right hand derailed a promising season in June, but it's now healed, and Tucker is starting to look like a star player once again. He's slashing .262/.373/.465 with 21 homers, 68 RBI, 82 runs scored and 25 stolen bases through 124 contests overall. This is his third 20-20 season, and a 30-30 campaign can't be ruled out if his bat stays hot over the last month-plus of 2025.

  • Cubs' Kyle Tucker: Goes deep in win

Tucker went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 3-2 win over the Angels.

The home run was Tucker's first since July 19 and his 19th of the season. The outfielder has been in a well-documented slump, as he's batting just .171 with a .530 OPS across his last 20 games. Tucker is reportedly fully recovered from a hairline fracture in his right hand that had impacted his swing, and Friday's long ball could be a sign that he's starting to feel comfortable at the plate again.

  • Cubs' Kyle Tucker: Continues to scuffle in return

Tucker, who went 0-for-4 with a walk in Thursday's loss to the Brewers, is batting just .069 over his last eight games.

Tucker sat out both ends of Tuesday's doubleheader against Milwaukee, then got Wednesday off as well in an effort to snap out of his slump, but the extra rest didn't translate to improved production in Thursday's series finale. It was recently disclosed that the outfielder sustained a hairline fracture in his right hand June 1, which likely impacted his swing, though manager Craig Counsell said Wednesday that Tucker has fully healed. At this point, it seems like the 28-year-old simply needs to regain his confidence at the plate. The Cubs will likely give him plenty of opportunities to get going, but rookie Owen Caissie is on hand to provide an alternative if Tucker continues to struggle.

  • Cubs' Kyle Tucker: Back in lineup Thursday

Tucker will start in right field and bat second in Thursday's game against the Brewers.

The Cubs gave Tucker a three-game break as he navigates through an extended slump in which he's slashed .195/.333/.242 since the beginning of July. Manager Craig Counsell also revealed Wednesday that Tucker was diagnosed with a hairline fracture in his right hand back on June 1, though that injury is now healed. The Cubs have won three straight games with Tucker out of the lineup and will go for four in a row Thursday with their All-Star outfielder back in starting nine.

  • Cubs' Kyle Tucker: Recovered from hand fracture

Cubs manager Craig Counsell said Wednesday that Tucker has fully healed from the hairline fracture he sustained to his right hand June 1, Jesse Rogers of ESPN.com reports.

Though the injury occurred at the beginning of June, the Cubs hadn't disclosed until Wednesday that Tucker had been affected by the hand issue. Tucker has been held out of the lineup for the Cubs' last three games, as Counsell is trying to allow the outfielder to get a mental reset while he's hit just .189 with four extra-base hits since the beginning of July. The Cubs wrap up their series with the Brewers on Thursday, but it's unclear if Tucker will be back in the lineup for the finale.

  • Cubs' Kyle Tucker: Dealing with fractured hand

Cubs manager Craig Counsell said Wednesday that Tucker was diagnosed June 1 with a hairline fracture in his right hand and has continued to play through the injury, Jesse Rogers of ESPN.com reports.

Tucker was initially injured while sliding into second base in a June 1 win over the Reds. While X-rays on his right finger came back negative, further testing revealed a slight fracture on the top of his hand, where the pinky and ring finger meet. Tucker's fracture has shown healing, but president of baseball operations Jed Hoyer admitted the injury has affected the outfielder's performance. Since the start of July, Tucker is hitting .189 with just four extra-base hits. Tucker has been out of the lineup for three straight games, as manager Craig Counsell indicated the star right fielder would get a couple days off for a mental reset. Tucker doesn't look as though he'll need a stint on the IL since the hand injury will continue to be more of a pain-tolerance matter, but it helps explain his lagging production during the second half of the season.

  • Cubs' Kyle Tucker: Absent from Wednesday's lineup

Tucker is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Brewers.

Tucker sat out both ends of Tuesday's doubleheader and will remain on the bench again Wednesday as manager Craig Counsell gives the outfielder some time off to clear his head while he's in the midst of a slump at the plate. Owen Cassie will start in right field and bat seventh in place of Tucker, who has a .182 batting average since the All-Star break.

  • Cubs' Kyle Tucker: Idle for both games of doubleheader

Tucker is out of the lineup for the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader with the Brewers.

Cubs manager Craig Counsell previously said Monday that Tucker would receive multiple days off while he fights through an extended slump at the plate. After he went 0-for-4 in the Cubs' 7-0 loss to the Brewers in the first game of Monday's scheduled doubleheader, the second contest was postponed, resulting in the two teams playing a twin bill Tuesday. Tucker sat out the Cubs' 6-4 win in Game 1 and will now take a seat again for Game 2 while Owen Caissie draws another start in right field.

  • Cubs' Kyle Tucker: Will sit multiple days amid slump

Cubs manager Craig Counsell said that Tucker will not start the second game of Monday's doubleheader versus the Brewers and will receive multiple days off while he's in the midst of a slump at the plate, Jesse Rogers of ESPN.com reports.

Tucker came into Monday slashing .195/.333/.242 with one home run since the beginning of July and then went 0-for-4 in the Cubs' 7-0 loss in the first game of the twin bill. With Tucker expected to receive multiple days off to regroup, rookie Owen Caissie should be in line for more short-term playing time in the corner outfield.

  • Cubs' Kyle Tucker: Scores twice, steals base in win

Tucker went 2-for-4 with a stolen base and two runs scored in Saturday's 3-1 win over the Pirates.

Tucker had been mired in an 0-for-14 slump over his last four games, but he snapped out of it with a strong effort Saturday. The outfielder is still searching for his first home run since July 19, and in 22 contests since then, he's slashing just .187/.344/.213. Tucker may still be bothered by a finger injury sustained June 1, though he has downplayed its impact on his swing.
