  • Yankees' Aaron Judge: Doesn't rule out elbow surgery

Judge on Wednesday didn't dismiss the possibility of undergoing surgery to repair the flexor strain in his right elbow, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports. Following the Yankees' elimination from the postseason, Judge said of his elbow that "we'll definitely do some work on it and get it right." When asked whether that could mean surgery, he replied, "I'm not a doctor. I don't know." Judge was diagnosed with a flexor strain in late July, spent 10 days on the injured list and was limited to designated hitter for a month upon his return. He played right field regularly over the final few weeks of the regular season and in the playoffs, but his throwing was noticeably compromised. A decision on how best to treat Judge's elbow injury should be made soon.

  • Yankees' Aaron Judge: Keeps Yanks alive with homer

Judge went 3-for-4 with a walk, a double, a three-run home run, an additional RBI and two additional runs scored in Tuesday's 9-6 win over the Blue Jays in Game 3 of the American League Division Series. In a career moment for Judge, he hit an emphatic three-run homer off the left-field foul pole to tie the game in the bottom of the fourth inning, after the Blue Jays went up by a score of 6-1 the inning prior. The Yankees were on the brink and are still facing elimination in Game 4, but Judge may have just swung the momentum in this best-of-five series. He is now batting an even .500 (11-for-22) this postseason.

  • Yankees' Aaron Judge: Clubs 53rd homer

Judge went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI in Saturday's 6-1 win over the Orioles. The reigning AL MVP got the Yankees on the board with a solo shot off Tomoyuki Sugano in the first inning, before adding a two-run single in the fifth. Judge has done everything he can in 2025 to repeat as MVP -- his 1.149 OPS is nearly 200 points clear of Cal Raleigh's .954, and he's second in the AL to the Seattle catcher in both homers (60 to 53) and RBI (125 to 114).

  • Yankees' Aaron Judge: Pops 52nd homer

Judge went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer and a walk in Friday's 8-4 victory over the Orioles. The two-time MVP bolstered his case for a third award with a 423-foot, two-run shot off Baltimore starter Trevor Rogers in the third inning. Judge has been scorching hot in September, as he seeks to become the 13th player all-time to win three MVP awards, batting .370 (27-for-73) with nine homers, 25 runs scored and 14 RBI in 23 games this month. Overall, the star outfielder now sports an absurd .330/.458/.687 slash line with 135 runs scored and 111 RBI over 671 plate appearances.

  • Yankees' Aaron Judge: Goes deep in win

Judge went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Saturday's 6-1 win over the Orioles. Judge singled and scored a run in the first inning before launching a solo shot in the third. The slugger has now tallied five multi-hit efforts in his past 10 games, going deep five times and scoring 14 runs during that stretch. For the season, he's slashing .329/.452/.677 with 49 home runs, 105 RBI, 129 runs scored and 12 steals across 646 plate appearances.

  • Yankees' Aaron Judge: Smashes homer in loss

Judge went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 6-4 loss to the Red Sox. Judge has been on a power tear lately, racking up five homers over his last six games. His long ball Sunday gives him 48 homers on the year, two away from reaching the half-century mark for the fourth time in his career. The superstar outfielder has added a .326/.447/.678 slash line with 102 RBI, 123 runs scored, 11 stolen bases, 28 doubles and two triples across 139 games in an MVP-caliber campaign.

  • Yankees' Aaron Judge: Leaps past DiMaggio

Judge went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, two walks and scored an additional run during Friday's win over the Red Sox. After tying the legendary Joe DiMaggio with 361 career home runs Thursday, Judge didn't waste any time hitting No. 362 by sending a Lucas Giolito fastball 468 feet into the Boston night during the first inning. Now in sole possession of fourth place on the Yankees' all-time HR leaderboard, Judge needs just three more long balls over New York's final 15 games to record his third 50-homer season in the last four years.

  • Yankees' Aaron Judge: Ties Yankee great in home runs

Judge went 3-for-4 with two solo home runs and an additional run scored during the Yankees' 9-3 win over the Tigers on Thursday. Judge kick-started the Yankees' offensive barrage with a solo home run off Tyler Holton in the first inning and followed that up with another solo shot in the third to give the Bronx Bombers a 4-1 lead. Judge's second homer was the 361st of his major-league career, which tied Yankee great Joe DiMaggio for fourth most in franchise history. Judge struggled at the plate after returning from an elbow strain in early August, but he has a 1.179 OPS with four solo home runs and 10 runs scored over his last 10 games

  • Yankees' Aaron Judge: Belts 44th homer

Judge went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 12-2 loss to the Tigers. The perennial MVP candidate got the Yankees on the board in the first inning by taking Casey Mize deep. It was Judge's 44th long ball of the season, and he sits two RBI short of his fourth career campaign with 100 or more. It took Judge a little while to find his form after returning from an elbow strain in early August, but over his last 12 games he's slashing .317/.491/.634 with four homers, three steals, five RBI and 13 runs.

  • Yankees' Aaron Judge: Starting in right field Friday

Judge (elbow) is starting in right field and batting third for Friday's game against the Blue Jays. It marks Judge's return to the outfield after he's been dealing with a right elbow flexor strain that landed him on the injured list in late July. He's manned the designated hitter spot in the lineup since returning to the lineup Aug. 5. With Judge back in right field, Giancarlo Stanton will DH and bat fifth Friday.

  • Yankees' Aaron Judge: Slugs 43rd homer

Judge went 3-for-5 with a solo homer, a double and an additional run scored in Sunday's 3-2 loss to the White Sox. The two-time MVP opened the game's scoring with a 426-foot solo shot off Chicago starter Martin Perez in the first inning. Prior to this performance, Judge had not been his typical self since rejoining to the lineup from an elbow injury Aug. 5, hitting .218 (17-for-78) with five homers and three doubles over 23 contests. The superstar has now homered in two straight, and Sunday marked his first game with three base knocks since his return from the injured list.

  • Yankees' Aaron Judge: Goes deep Saturday

Judge went 1-for-4 with a solo home run, an additional run and a walk Saturday in a 5-3 extra-innings win over the White Sox. Judge's fourth-inning blast opened the scoring in the contest, and he also scored an insurance run in the 11th after drawing an intentional walk. The All-Star slugger's homer pace has slowed down a bit this month -- he's gone deep a modest (for him) five times over 23 games since returning from an elbow strain Aug. 5. Judge is also batting just .218 in that span, though he's posted an elite .408 OBP on the strength of a 23.3 percent walk rate.

  • Yankees' Aaron Judge: Still no timeline for return to OF

Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Thursday that Judge's timeline for returning to the outfield remains uncertain, per MLB.com. It was a step forward for Judge to begin throwing from the outfield to the bases Sunday, but the slugger still hasn't done so at full velocity. He'll certainly need to do so before he's cleared to return to playing the outfield in a game for the first time since July 25. Because Judge has been limited to serving as the DH since his return from the IL on Aug. 5, Giancarlo Stanton has had to pick up a glove and log time in right field while also moving in and out of the lineup -- Stanton has started just four of New York's past seven contests.

  • Yankees' Aaron Judge: Launches 41st long ball

Judge went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and an additional run scored in an 11-2 win over Washington on Wednesday. Judge hit the second of six Yankees homers in the rout, belting a 424-foot, two run shot in the third inning. The slugger added a single to finish with his first multi-hit effort over his past eight contests. Judge has struggled a bit in August with a .217/.386/.435 slash line through 20 games, but he's worked an 18:21 BB:K and has four home runs, 10 RBI and 14 runs in that span.

  • Yankees' Aaron Judge: Clears hurdle in throwing program

Judge threw from the outfield to the bases and a cut-off man prior to Sunday's game against the Red Sox, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports. According to Bryan Hoch of MLB.com, Judge confirmed following the pregame workout that he "checked a box" in his throwing progression by tossing a baseball to the bases for the first time since he was diagnosed with a flexor strain in his right elbow July 26. Per Brendan Kuty of The Athletic, manager Aaron Boone said that Judge looked good during the throwing session, but the Yankees aren't putting a timeline on when the two-time AL MVP might be ready to play the outfield in a game. Judge will remain in the lineup as the Yankees' designated hitter and No. 2 batter in Sunday's game against the Red Sox.

  • Yankees' Aaron Judge: Close to throwing to bases

Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Saturday that Judge is "close" to throwing to bases, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports. Judge hasn't played the outfield in a game since before he landed on the IL with a flexor strain in late July. Though the slugger has been taking part in a throwing program, it hasn't yet included throwing to bases. Judge seems to be close to advancing to that step, which would move him closer to being able to return to defensive work during games. For the time being, though, he'll likely remain New York's primary DH, which has resulted in Giancarlo Stanton getting more frequent rest days and playing right field when he is in the lineup.

  • Yankees' Aaron Judge: Reaches 40-homer mark

Judge went 2-for-5 with a solo home run, a walk and three total runs scored in Tuesday's 13-3 victory versus the Rays. Judge hit the first of a franchise-record-tying nine New York homers, going deep to center field in the first inning. The long ball was the slugger's 40th of the campaign, marking the fourth time in his career he's reached that milestone. Per MLB.com, Judge is the fourth Yankee -- joining Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig and Mickey Mantle -- with four career campaigns of 40-plus homers.

  • Yankees' Aaron Judge: Return to outfield undetermined

Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Tuesday that Judge (elbow) will not play the outfield during the team's two-game series against the Rays that runs through Wednesday, and he is unsure whether Judge will be ready to play the field for the four-game set versus the Red Sox that concludes Sunday, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports. Judge has expanded his throwing out to 150 feet as he works his way back from a right flexor strain. Boone conceded that Judge is unlikely to be able to throw like he normally does at any point this season, but the goal is to get him to a spot where "he can go out there and be able to protect himself and represent himself." With Judge limited to designated-hitter duty, the Yankees have been mixing in Giancarlo Stanton in right field, although they have been reluctant to make Stanton a full-time outfielder. Stanton's playing time could continue to be somewhat limited until Judge is ready to return to right field.

  • Yankees' Aaron Judge: Clubs 39th bomb

Judge went 2-for-3 with a double, a home run, two RBI and two walks in Saturday's victory over the Cardinals. Judge opened the scoring with an RBI double in the first inning before adding a solo shot in the third, his 39th homer of the season. The superstar slugger has tallied six seasons with 30-plus homers and sits just one long ball shy of his fourth 40-homer campaign.

  • Yankees' Aaron Judge: Launches 38th long ball

Judge went 1-for-2 with a solo home run, an additional run and three walks in Tuesday's 9-1 win over Minnesota. Judge didn't have many opportunities to swing the bat, as the Twins put him on base three times via walks, one of which was intentional. It's logical that Minnesota would pitch around the slugger after he crushed a 425-foot solo shot in his first plate appearance. Judge had been in somewhat of a slump coming into Tuesday, going seven games without a homer and batting just .182 (4-for-22) during that span. He's still leading all qualified MLB hitters in batting average (.337) and OPS (1.141), though, and is rounding out an MVP-caliber campaign with 38 homers, 88 RBI, 94 runs and seven stolen bases through 110 contests.
