Thurman was released by the Braves on Saturday, Baseball America's Matt Eddy reports.
He dealt with major control problems (6.7 BB/9) both as a starter and as a reliever at two levels this year, leading to a 7.55 ERA. The 40th overall pick in the 2013 draft, Thurman appears to be a pretty significant bust at this point.
