Twins' Byron Buxton: Sitting Sunday
Buxton is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Phillies.
Buxton will take a seat for the Twins' final game of 2025, ceding center field to James Outman with Ryan Jeffers at DH. Austin Martin will move up to the leadoff spot against lefty Cristopher Sanchez. Buxton homered in Saturday's win, his fourth homer in as many games and career-high 35th of the season.

Twins' Byron Buxton: Two more homers Thursday
Buxton went 2-for-4 with a pair of home runs and four total RBI in Thursday's 4-0 win over the Rangers.
Buxton was responsible for all of the offense in Thursday's contest. He led off the game with a solo shot off Tyler Mahle before extending Minnesota's lead with a three-run, 437-foot blast off Chris Martin in the eighth. Buxton has now gone deep three times in his last two games -- he'd gone just 7-for-45 (.156) with no homers and one RBI in his previous 11 contests. Buxton has been one of the Twins' few bright spots overall this season -- he's slashing .265/.328/.551 with a career-best 34 homers, 82 RBI, 96 runs scored and 24 stolen bases across 533 plate appearances.

Twins' Byron Buxton: Belts 32nd homer in loss
Buxton went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 4-2 loss to Texas.
Buxton clobbered his 32nd homer of the season and his third of the month. While 2025 will go down as a lost year for the Twins, it was anything but a failure for Buxton, who has just about paid off for fantasy managers who took a late-round gamble on the oft-injured outfielder in drafts this past spring. Buxton is up to 123 games played, his most since 2017, and he's collected a career-high in long balls, RBI (78), walks (41) and runs scored (94).

Twins' Byron Buxton: Clubs 31st homer
Buxton went 1-for-3 with a walk and a two-run home run in Wednesday's 4-3 loss to the Angels.
Hitting leadoff and getting the nod at DH after missing Monday's game due to a knee bruise, Buxton got hold of a 97.5-mph fastball from Jose Fermin in the sixth inning and drove it over the right-field fence to tie the game at 3-3. It was the veteran center fielder's 31st homer of the season as he adds to his career high, and his sixth in his last 12 contests -- a stretch in which Buxton is batting .333 (15-for-45) with three doubles, three triples, three steals, 11 runs and 14 RBI.

Twins' Byron Buxton: Back in action Tuesday
Buxton (knee) will start in center field and bat leadoff against the Angels on Tuesday.
Buxton was forced to miss Monday's series opener after taking a pitch off his left knee Sunday against the Royals, but his absence will be limited to just one game. The 31-year-old officially achieved a 30-homer season for the first time in his career Sunday, and he'll aim to maintain his momentum Tuesday against Kyle Hendricks, who enters the game with a 4.81 ERA on the year.

Twins' Byron Buxton: Not in Monday's lineup
Buxton (knee) is not in the Twins' starting lineup against the Angels on Monday.
Buxton is nursing a left knee contusion that he suffered against the Royals on Sunday, when his knee was hit by a pitch in the fifth inning. Austin Martin, James Outman and Matt Wallner will start in the Twins' outfield from left to right for Monday's series opener due to Buxton's injury.

Twins' Byron Buxton: Lifted early with knee contusion
Buxton was removed in the bottom of the sixth inning of Sunday's game against the Royals due to a left knee contusion, Audra Martin of FanDuel Sports Network North reports. He went 1-for-2 with a solo home run prior to departing.
He also reached base in the fifth inning when he was hit in the knee by a pitch, and though Buxton was initially able to stay in the game, the Twins summoned James Outman from the bench to replace him in center field an inning later. Buxton could be subject to further testing before the Twins decide whether he'll be ready to play in Monday's series opener versus the Angels.
