  • Angels' Jorge Soler: Unlikely to return in final week

Soler (back) has continued to ramp up his activity at the Angels' complex in Arizona, but he appears unlikely to be activated from the 60-day injured list before the season ends Sunday, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports. "Whether he's activated or not, we'll see," interim manager Ray Montgomery said of Soler. "But in terms of the mentality, he knows his body is in a good spot. Going into the offseason, that would be huge." Soler has been on the shelf since July 26 due to low back inflammation, and though he's seemingly steered clear of setbacks since reporting to Arizona on Sept. 11 to continue his workouts, the Angels are eliminated from playoff contention and don't have much incentive to rush the 33-year-old back for the final week of the season. Before landing on the IL, Soler slashed .215/.293/.387 with 12 home runs, 34 RBI and 31 runs in 82 games. Soler should be in line for a normal offseason and will be entering the final season of a three-year, $42 million contract in 2026.

  • Angels' Jorge Soler: Moves to 60-day IL

The Angels transferred Soler (back) from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Monday. Soler has been on the shelf since July 26 while recovering from low back inflammation, and though he's currently taking part in baseball activities, his move to the 60-day IL means that the Angels don't anticipate him returning until the final week of the season. Before being shut down, Soler hit .215 with 12 home runs, 34 RBI and 31 runs in 82 games.

  • Angels' Jorge Soler: Increasing activity on field

Soler (back) has increased his work on the field as of Friday, as he's been shagging flyballs in addition to hitting against high-velocity pitching, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports. The 64-72 Angels are well removed from wild-card contention, but Soler still appears to be gearing up for a return before the end of the season after he was placed on the injured list July 26 due to low back inflammation. He's continuing to steadily incorporate more activity into his workouts, but the Angels haven't yet revealed when he'll be ready for a rehab assignment. Once he's activated from the IL, Soler should settle back in as the Angels' primary option in right field, which will result in Jo Adell shifting back to center field on a more regular basis.

  • Angels' Jorge Soler: Trending in right direction

Soler (back) has been cleared to start swinging a bat and begin running and throwing progressions, Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register reports. Soler was placed on the 10-day injured list July 26 due to lower-back inflammation, and after a shutdown period, he's back to baseball activities. The team has yet to disclose a timetable for his return, but the fact that he's taking cuts in addition to running and throwing is a sign that he could return before the end of the 2025 campaign.

  • Angels' Jorge Soler: Still not doing baseball activities

Soler (back) has yet to resume baseball activities, per MLB.com. Soler has now been out of action for over three weeks, as he last played July 23 against the Mets. The veteran outfielder has had an issue with his back on multiple occasions this year, so the Angels may be opting to give him all the time he needs to recover given their current place in the standings (they sit five games out of a wild-card spot with three teams ahead of them in the race for the final bid). Since Soler has been out of action, Jo Adell has been getting most of the starts in right field while Bryce Teodosio has become a near-everyday presence in the lineup in center.

  • Angels' Jorge Soler: Yet to resume baseball workouts

Soler (back) hasn't resumed taking part in baseball activities since landing on the 10-day injured list July 26, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports. Soler is eligible to come off the IL on Monday, though it's clear that he'll need more than the minimum 10 days to recover from his bout with low back inflammation. The 33-year-old was previously shelved from June 20 through June 30 with a back issue, so the Angels could be motivated to take a more cautious approach with his recovery from his latest back problem. Gustavo Campero, Jo Adell and Luis Rengifo are likely to see most of the starts in right field while Adell is sidelined.

  • Angels' Jorge Soler: Placed on injured list

The Angels placed Soler on the 10-day injured list Saturday with lower-back inflammation, retroactive to Thursday. Soler's back forced him out of Wednesday's game early, and he'll now have to remain out until at least early August upon moving to the IL. Gustavo Campero was recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake to replenish the Halos' outfield depth, though LaMonte Wade will likely receive the bulk of reps in right field until Soler is healthy.

  • Angels' Jorge Soler: Absent from Friday's lineup

Soler (back) is not in the Angels' starting lineup against the Mariners on Friday, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports. Soler will sit for a second consecutive game due to back soreness that flared up during Wednesday's game against the Mets. Chris Taylor will start in right field and bat eighth in Soler's absence, though the latter could be available off the bench to pinch hit.

  • Angels' Jorge Soler: Resting Thursday

Soler (back) isn't in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Mariners, Jack Janes of TheSportingTribune.com reports. A back injury forced Soler out of Wednesday's game in the third inning. The 33-year-old has already spent time on the IL this year due to back problems, so the Angels will err on the side of caution and hold him out of Thursday's contest while LaMonte Wade starts in right field.

  • Angels' Jorge Soler: Lifted early with back tightness

Soler was removed in the bottom of the third inning of Wednesday's game against the Mets due to back tightness. A bout with back soreness forced Soler to the injured list June 20, and the Angels had been giving him more frequent days off since he was activated July 1. The extra maintenance apparently hasn't fully resolved the issue, as Soler's back acted up again Wednesday and resulted him being removed from the contest after just one plate appearance. Chris Taylor started at third base but took over in right field once Soler exited the game.

  • Angels' Jorge Soler: Exits game with injury

Soler was removed from Wednesday's game against the Mets in the third inning with an undisclosed injury, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports. Soler has been dealing with a back issue recently, so it's possible that injury is still lingering and flared up on him. He struck out in his lone plate appearance before exiting. The Angels should have more on Soler's condition shortly.

  • Angels' Jorge Soler: Coming around at dish

Soler went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Tuesday in a loss to the Mets. Soler kicked off the scoring Tuesday with a solo homer to left field in the second inning. Though that was his lone hit in the contest, it was another sign that the veteran outfielder's bat is starting to come around. Over his past nine games, Soler has gone 9-for-26 (.346 batting average) with three homers and five RBI. The hot stretch has lifted his season batting average from .202 to .216.

  • Angels' Jorge Soler: Resting Monday

Soler is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Mets. Soler will get his second day off in the Angels' first four games of the second half after he went 3-for-8 with a solo home run and two walks during the team's three-game series in Philadelphia over the weekend. LaMonte Wade will cover right field in Soler's stead.

  • Angels' Jorge Soler: Not in Sunday's lineup

Soler is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks. Soler is in the midst of a modest five-game hit streak, during which he's gone 5-for-14 with a double and a home run, but he'll hit the bench Sunday for the second time in the Halos' past three games. LaMonte Wade will draw the start in right field for the final game before the All-Star break.

  • Angels' Jorge Soler: Idle Friday

Soler isn't in the lineup for Friday's game against Arizona, Jack Janes of TheSportingTribune.com reports. Currently enjoying a four-game hitting streak, Soler will get a chance to rest Friday against Ryne Nelson and the D-backs. Gustavo Campero will start in right field as a result and bat ninth.

  • Angels' Jorge Soler: Delivers clutch homer Wednesday

Soler went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in an 11-8 victory versus Texas on Wednesday. Soler was hitless in his first three plate appearances, but he came through when it mattered most, launching a 421-foot, two-run blast to break an 8-8 tie in the bottom of the eighth inning. It was a much-needed big hit for the veteran outfielder, who entered Wednesday having batted just .136 with only six RBI over his previous 22 games. Soler posted a poor 37.8 percent strikeout rate during that span, and Wednesday marked just the second time over his past 15 contests that he's finished without a punchout.

  • Angels' Jorge Soler: Getting Tuesday off

Soler isn't in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Rangers, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports. Soler will grab a seat on the bench Tuesday after going 4-for-24 wtih a homer, three RBI and two runs scored in seven games since returning from the IL. LaMonte Wade will take his place in right field and bat eighth.

  • Angels' Jorge Soler: Resting Sunday

Soler is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Blue Jays. Soler will get a breather after struggling at the dish since being activated from the injured list Tuesday, going 2-for-15 with a home run and a 3:9 BB:K in five games. Gustavo Campero will cover right field and bat eighth.

  • Angels' Jorge Soler: Smacks solo homer

Soler went 1-for-4 with a solo homer in Wednesday's 8-3 loss to Atlanta. Soler was able to eat into the Angels' steep deficit in the ninth inning as he smacked a solo homer off Dylan Dodd to left-center field. It was Soler's ninth home run of the season, and he has gone 2-for-6 in his two games since returning from the 10-day injured list Tuesday.

  • Angels' Jorge Soler: Activated from 10-day IL

The Angels activated Soler (back) from the 10-day injured list Tuesday. Soler has been cleared to return to action following a minimum 10-day absence with a back injury. With Mike Trout still limited to designated-hitter duty, Soler will resume his role as the Angels' primary right fielder.
