Padres' Xander Bogaerts: Homers in win
Bogaerts went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in Saturday's 5-1 win over the Diamondbacks.
Bogaerts launched a 424-foot homer off Eduardo Rodriguez in the first inning, his first extra-base hit since coming off the injured list Tuesday. The veteran shortstop has hit safely in three of four games since rejoining the Padres, going 4-for-16 in that span. He's slashing .262/.328/.389 with 11 home runs, 51 RBI, 62 runs scored and 20 steals across 550 plate appearances and appears healthy as the club gears up for the postseason.

Padres' Xander Bogaerts: Activated Tuesday after delays
The Padres activated Bogaerts (foot) from the 10-day injured list Tuesday.
In a corresponding move Tuesday, the Padres optioned Will Wagner to the Arizona Complex League. It was initially thought Bogaerts would return during this past weekend or Monday, but he had delays regarding his pregame workouts for his fractured foot. The shortstop is batting second Tuesday at home versus the Brewers, who are sending lefty Bruce Zimmermann to the mound.

Padres' Xander Bogaerts: Not expected to be activated Monday
Bogaerts (foot) now appears set for activation from the 10-day injured list Tuesday, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
Previous reports indicated Bogaerts would return from his left foot injury Monday. However, he went through another pregame workout Monday instead, as the Padres have apparently elected to give him one more day before he's reinstated. Jose Iglesias is starting at shortstop for the Padres in Monday's game versus the Brewers.

Padres' Xander Bogaerts: Set for Monday return
Bogaerts' (foot) on-field workout Friday was rained out, and he is now expected to rejoin the Padres on Monday for the start of a three-game series against Milwaukee, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
Bogaerts was on track to return this weekend, but Friday's rainout delayed his progression, and his return date has been pushed back to Monday. The shortstop has been a full participant in baseball activities but is completing a running progression.

Padres' Xander Bogaerts: Could return this weekend
Padres manager Mike Shildt said Tuesday that Bogaerts (foot) took part in workouts at the team's facility in Arizona over the previous two days and could return from the 10-day injured list for this weekend's series in Chicago versus the White Sox, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
Bogaerts was involved in a full range of baseball activities, as he did some running, fielded grounders at shortstop and hit against live pitching. Completing a running progression appears to be the final hurdle that Bogaerts will need to clear before being activated, with Shildt noting that the 32-year-old is sprinting at about 80-to-85 percent intensity at this point. Bogaerts has been on the IL since Aug. 29 due to a non-displaced fracture in his left foot.

Padres' Xander Bogaerts: Gearing up for return in final week
Manager Mike Shildt said that Bogaerts (foot) took ground balls, tracked live pitches and took swings in the batting cage during a workout Saturday and could continue his rehab program at the Padres' facility in Arizona during the upcoming week, MLB.com reports.
The Padres placed Bogaerts on the 10-day injured list Aug. 29 due to a non-displaced fracture in his left foot, but the veteran infielder is progressing well in his recovery and is targeting a return to the lineup during the final week of the regular season. While Bogaerts has been shelved, the Padres have prioritized offense over defense of late, as Jake Cronenworth and Luis Arraez (head) have been seeing more starts at shortstop and second base, respectively, in order to open up a regular spot in the lineup at designated hitter for Gavin Sheets.

Padres' Xander Bogaerts: Recovery ahead of schedule
Bogaerts (foot) took on-field batting practice Friday and believes he is ahead of schedule, Dennis Lin of The Athletic reports.
Bogaerts took on-field batting practice for the first time since being placed on the injured list Aug. 29 due to a non-displaced fracture in his left foot. He has been progressing well since suffering the injury and could be on track to return before the end of the regular season. Jake Cronenworth and Jose Iglesias (hand) have been handling most of the shortstop work since Bogaerts went down.

Padres' Xander Bogaerts: Resumes light baseball activities
Bogaerts (foot) has resumed light baseball activities this week, MLB.com reports.
Bogaerts is just under two weeks removed from suffering a non-displaced fracture in his left foot, so he will be eased along slowly. The Padres are hopeful of getting their shortstop back in late September or early October, so Bogaerts will probably play only in the last few regular-season games in a best-case scenario. Jose Iglesias has been filling in at shortstop for San Diego.

Padres' Xander Bogaerts: Sidelined with fractured foot
The Padres placed Bogaerts on the 10-day injured list Friday with a non-displaced fracture in his left foot.
Bogaerts fouled a ball off the foot during Wednesday's game in Seattle. He stayed in to finish out that contest, but testing revealed a fracture. The Padres have not yet revealed a timetable for Bogaerts' return, but the injury has the potential to knock him out for most, if not all, of the regular season. Jose Iglesias will take over as the team's primary shortstop.

Padres' Xander Bogaerts: Sitting after fouling ball off foot
Bogaerts is absent from the lineup for Friday's game in Minnesota after fouling a ball off his left foot during Wednesday's in Seattle, Sammy Levitt of 97.3 The Fan San Diego reports.
The Padres haven't said the foot issue is the reason Bogaert's isn't starting Friday, but it would make sense for him to be rested if he's still a bit sore. The club could have more on his condition later Friday. Jose Iglesias is handling shortstop and batting seventh in Friday's series opener.
