Padres' Yu Darvish: Collects fifth win
Darvish (5-5) allowed two runs on six hits and two walks while striking out four over five innings to earn the win Friday over the Diamondbacks.
Darvish allowed solo home runs to Ketel Marte and Jake McCarthy. September saw steady performances from Darvish, who allowed 14 runs (13 earned) over 24.1 innings while adding a 26:4 K:BB across his five starts this month. The right-hander ends the regular season with a 5.38 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 68:19 K:BB through 72 innings over 15 starts. At this time, it's not clear how he'll be deployed in the postseason.

Padres' Yu Darvish: Strikes out four in no-decision
Darvish didn't factor into the decision Saturday against the White Sox, allowing two runs on six hits and no walks in 4.2 innings. He struck out four.
It was a rather disappointing that Darvish wasn't able to work deeper into the game, and he's now failed to pitch at least six innings in five consecutive starts. The veteran right-hander was removed from the outing after throwing only 78 pitches, but it's possible the Padres are being cautious about his workload with the postseason on the horizon. Darvish's 5.51 ERA is set to be a career worst, though he does have a strong 1.15 WHIP and 64:17 K:BB across 67 frames. His final appearance of the regular season is slated for next weekend against Arizona.

Padres' Yu Darvish: Collects fourth win
Darvish (4-5) allowed three runs on four hits and struck out five without walking a batter over five-plus innings to earn the win over the Rockies on Sunday.
Darvish had a sharp start through five frames, but he put on a pair of runners in the sixth, and Jeremiah Estrada wasn't able to prevent them from scoring. It was still a positive performance, as Darvish earned his first win since Aug. 22 versus the Dodgers, though he's allowed at least three runs in five of his last six outings. Darvish is at a 5.63 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 60:17 K:BB through 62.1 innings across 13 starts this season. His next outing is projected to be a road start versus the White Sox.

Padres' Yu Darvish: Battles in no-decision
Darvish did not factor into the decision Monday, allowing three runs on six hits and no walks over 5.2 innings against the Reds. He struck out seven.
Darvish surrendered a leadoff homer to TJ Friedl but settled in to grind out 5.2 serviceable innings, keeping the Padres in a game they ultimately won in 10 innings. It's been a challenging season for the veteran right-hander, who didn't debut until July 7 due to an elbow injury. Through 12 starts, he owns a 5.65 ERA and 1.17 WHIP across 57.1 innings as San Diego hopes he can find his form heading into the postseason.

Padres' Yu Darvish: Loses again Tuesday
Darvish (3-5) allowed four runs (three earned) on six hits and two walks while striking out six over four-plus innings to take the loss versus the Orioles on Tuesday.
Darvish gave up a solo home run to Jeremiah Jackson in the first inning and a two-run single to Emmanuel Rivera in the third. Darvish found more trouble in the fifth and was pulled from that frame after walking Jackson to lead off the inning. This was the third time in four starts Darvish fell short of the five-inning mark, and he's allowed 13 runs (12 earned) over 18 innings in that span. For the season, he's at a 5.75 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 48:17 K:BB through 51.2 innings across 11 starts. Darvish has had a few flashes of his talent, but he hasn't been able to sustain success from one start to the next very often. He's projected for a home matchup versus the Reds early next week.

Padres' Yu Darvish: Falls to Mariners
Darvish (3-4) took the loss Wednesday against the Mariners, allowing four runs on four hits and a walk over four innings. He struck out three.
Darvish was decent early, holding Seattle to a run on two hits through his first two innings. However, he'd stumble in the fourth, giving up a three-run homer to Eugenio Suarez that proved to be the difference in a 4-3 defeat. Darvish had gone five starts without a loss prior to Wednesday, posting a 3.00 ERA with an impressive 0.67 WHIP in that span (27 innings). Overall, his ERA sits at 5.66 with a 1.11 WHIP and 42:15 K:BB through 10 starts (47.2 innings) this season. Darvish is currently slated to face the Orioles at home in his next outing.

Padres' Yu Darvish: Strong in win over Dodgers
Darvish (3-3) allowed one run on one hit and one walk while striking out five over six innings to earn the win over the Dodgers on Friday.
Darvish gave up four runs over four innings against the Dodgers in his previous start, but he rebounded with an excellent outing for his third quality start of the year. The lone run he gave up came on an Alex Freeland solo home run in the third inning. Darvish hasn't lost in five starts, allowing nine runs (including five homers) over 27 innings in that span. Overall, he still has a 5.36 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 39:14 K:BB through 43.2 innings over nine starts, but he's trending in the right direction. Darvish's next start is projected to be at Seattle.

Padres' Yu Darvish: Hit hard early
Darvish allowed four runs on three hits and two walks while striking out five over four innings in a no-decision versus the Dodgers on Sunday.
Darvish was tagged for all four runs in the first inning, with Freddie Freeman launching a three-run shot and Andy Pages following with a solo homer. Over his eight starts this season, Darvish has allowed just six homers, all of which have been in his last five outings. He's fallen short of the five-inning mark five times so far, and his 5.97 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 34:13 K:BB through 37.2 innings offer little confidence. The 39-year-old is tentatively projected for a home rematch against the Dodgers in his next start, which may be a matchup for fantasy managers to avoid.
