Brewers' Jose Quintana: Healthy, could start Game 2
Quintana (calf) has been included on the Brewers' roster for the NLDS against the Cubs, but manager Pat Murphy declined to say whether the left-hander would start Monday's Game 2, Jack Stern of BrewerFanatic.com reports.
Quintana had been shelved since mid-September with a left calf strain, but he appears to be fully healthy now heading into the NLDS. Because of three off days, the Brewers will need only three starting pitchers for the NLDS, and Quintana looks to be in consideration for one of those spots. Freddy Peralta will take the hill for Game 1 on Saturday, leaving Quintana and Quinn Priester as the options to start Game 2.

Brewers' Jose Quintana: Looks good in sim game
Quintana (calf) threw 45 pitches in a simulated game Friday, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Manager Pat Murphy said he thought Quintana threw "fantastic" Friday. The left-hander is tracking toward being available for the start of the NLDS on Oct. 4. Quintana is recovering from a strained left calf and becomes eligible for reinstatement Tuesday.

Brewers' Jose Quintana: Lands on injured list
The Brewers placed Quintana on the 15-day injured list Wednesday, retroactive to Sept. 15, due to a left calf strain, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
Quintana was able to play catch with no apparent issues Tuesday, which seemed set him up to make his next turn through the rotation this weekend in St. Louis. The veteran left-hander was scheduled to do some running Wednesday which presumably didn't go well, and he will end up missing the rest of the regular season. Quintana will be eligible to be reinstated Sept. 30, so he could be back on the active roster for the start of the playoffs with a minimum-length stay on the shelf.

Brewers' Jose Quintana: Eyeing start Sunday
Quintana (calf) played catch without issue Tuesday and is slated to do some running Wednesday, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
He'll likely need to throw a bullpen session within the next couple days, too, but if all goes well Quintana will start Sunday's game in St. Louis. The veteran left-hander had to depart his last outing with a mild left calf strain, but he has a good chance to avoid missing any starts.

Quintana tweaked the calf during Sunday's start versus the Cardinals. He will play catch Tuesday, and the Brewers expect to have a better idea after that as to whether Quintana will be able to make his next start, which is tentatively scheduled for Saturday in St. Louis.

Quintana suffered a calf injury in Sunday's 3-2 loss to the Cardinals, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Quintana pitched four innings, allowing three runs on four hits and two walks while striking out two batters against St. Louis. He exited the game after throwing just 67 pitches, and his early departure is now understood to be the result of a calf injury that he suffered while covering first base, according to manager Pat Murphy. The left-hander is set to undergo an MRI, and more information on Quintana's status will likely come in the near future.

Quintana (11-6) took the loss Monday against Texas, allowing five runs on four hits and two walks in 6.2 innings. He struck out four.
Most of the damage was done courtesy of a Michael Helman grand slam in the fifth inning, though it was still Quintana's longest outing of the season. The veteran southpaw has lasted at least five innings in 13 of his last 14 starts. Quintana has put together a respectable 3.88 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 87:48 K:BB across 127.2 innings, and he's next scheduled to take the mound at home against the Cardinals over the weekend.

Quintana (11-5) notched the win Wednesday against Philadelphia, allowing three runs on seven hits and three walks in 6.1 innings. He struck out six.
After tying a season high in runs allowed his last time out versus the Diamondbacks, Quintana bounced back with a quality start Wednesday. The six strikeouts were his most since Aug. 6 in Atlanta, and the quality start was the veteran southpaw's fourth in his last six outings. Quintana owns a steady 3.72 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 83:46 K:BB over 121 innings, and his next appearance lines up for a road tilt against the Rangers.

Quintana (10-5) took the loss Thursday against the Diamondbacks, allowing six runs on five hits and four walks across 3.2 innings. He struck out two.
It was a tough outing for the veteran left-hander, whose four walks matched a season high. Coming into the day, Quintana had not allowed more than three earned runs in any of his last six starts, posting a 2.94 ERA in that span (33.2 innings). Overall, his ERA sits at 3.96 through 21 starts (114.2 innings) this season with a 1.29 WHIP and 77:43 K:BB. Quintana will look to bounce back his next time out, which is currently slated for next week at home against the Phillies.

Quintana didn't factor into the decision against the Giants on Friday, allowing two runs on two hits and two walks while striking out two over 5.1 innings.
The veteran southpaw was tagged for a pair of solo homers, one by Willy Adames in the first inning and another by Luis Matos in the second, but settled in and retired 10 of his final 11 batters. Quintana was pulled after 82 pitches, just two outs shy of what would've been his fourth straight quality start. Over that four-game stretch, he's posted a 2.66 ERA and a 16:4 K:BB, giving Milwaukee steady innings in the middle of the rotation.

Despite yielding just one run on a Jose Trevino sacrifice fly in the seventh inning, Quintana was on the hook for the loss until William Contreras blasted a two-run homer in the ninth. Quintana has logged three straight quality starts and is up to eight on the season. He has a 3.41 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 25:6 K:BB in 34.1 innings across his six starts since the All-Star break. Quintana is lined up to face the Giants at home next weekend.

Quintana (10-4) picked up the win Monday against the Pirates, allowing one run on three hits and one walk in six innings. He struck out three.
Quintana delivered his second consecutive quality start, and he's now tossed at least five innings in 11 straight outings as well as 17 of his 18 for the season. The 36-year-old southpaw continues to struggle with containing the long ball, however, as he's now served up at least one homer in five straight starts. Quintana will bring a steady 3.44 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 69:36 K:BB over 99.1 frames into his next scheduled outing in Cincinnati against the Reds, who have a pitiful .607 OPS versus left-handed pitching since the beginning of July.
