Brewers' Christian Yelich: Clutch homer in Sunday's win
Yelich smacked a three-run home run during the Brewers' 9-7 win over the White Sox on Sunday.
The lefty-hitting Yelich opened Sunday's game on the bench due to the White Sox sending southpaw Anthony Kay to the mound for the series finale. Yelich was brought in as a pinch hitter in the eighth frame, and he finished off the Brewers' six-run inning with a towering, three-run home run to right field. He is off to a terrific start to the 2026 campaign, going 6-for-10 with five RBI and one steal over his first three games.

Brewers' Christian Yelich: Three-hit effort in win
Yelich went 3-for-5 with one RBI, one run scored and a stolen base in Saturday' 6-1 win over the White Sox.
Yelich got the scoring started with an RBI single in the first inning and added his first stolen base in the second. The 34-year-old has started 2026 hot, going 5-for-9 with three runs scored through two games. He slashed .264/.343/.452 with 103 RBI over 150 regular-season games in 2025 and looks poised to be a key contributor in the heart of the Brewers' order again this year.

Brewers' Christian Yelich: Resting Sunday
Yelich is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the White Sox.
With Milwaukee wrapping up its season-opening series with a day game and a lefty (Anthony Kay) on the hill for the White Sox, the left-handed-hitting Yelich will get a breather. William Contreras will get a day off from catching but will stick in the lineup at designated hitter in place of Yelich, who went 5-for-9 with a walk, a stolen base, three runs and two RBI in Milwaukee's first two games.

Brewers' Christian Yelich: Could play more outfield
Brewers manager Pat Murphy said on MLB Network on Thursday that Yelich "wants to play the outfield, and I think that he will" in the wake of Jackson Chourio's (hand) placement on the injured list, Jon Morosi of MLB Network reports.
The veteran slugger made just 19 appearances in the outfield across his 150 regular-season games last year, as he primarily served as a designated hitter for the first time in his 13-year career. It helped Yelich to stay healthy and total 29 home runs and 103 RBI, which are his best marks since 2019 and 2018, respectively, but he could play the field more early in 2026 with Chourio sidelined for at least the next couple weeks.

Brewers' Christian Yelich: Ready for spring debut
Yelich will be in the lineup for Wednesday's Cactus League game against the Cubs, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
The veteran slugger will see his first game action of spring training after the Brewers ramped him up slowly at the start of camp. Yelich totaled 29 home runs, 16 steals, 103 RBI and 88 runs with a .264/.343/.452 slash line in 150 regular-season games last season and will be the linchpin of Milwaukee's lineup again in 2026.
