Padres' Manny Machado: Snaps homer drought Wednesday
Machado went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in an 8-1 win against the Giants on Sunday.
Machado flashed his power with a 425-foot solo blast in the third inning. The long ball was his first since July 29 -- a span of 19 games. The veteran third baseman had only four RBI during that homerless span, and the Padres could really benefit if he's able to turn things around down the stretch. Despite the recent struggles, Machado still has a healthy 21 home runs and 74 RBI on the campaign, and his .837 OPS is on pace to be his best mark since 2022.

The third baseman had cooled off to begin August, going just 3-for-15 over his first four games of the month before his bat roared back to life Tuesday. On the year, he's at a stellar .302/.362/.505 slash line with 20 home runs, 29 doubles, 72 RBI, 68 runs scored and 10 stolen bases through 114 contests.

Machado went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in Tuesday's 7-1 win over the Mets.
Machado came up short of a multi-hit effort for the first time in seven games, but his one knock was a big one that provided the last runs of the contest in the seventh inning. During his hot stretch, the third baseman has gone 16-for-29 (.552) with six extra-base hits and nine RBI. Machado has reached the 20-homer mark for the 10th straight full-length season and has added a .301/.361/.511 slash line, 69 RBI, 64 runs scored and nine stolen bases through 108 games this season. His production so far gives him a chance to challenge for 30 homers and 100 RBI by the end of the campaign.
