Cubs pitcher Zach Putnam was forced out of Tuesday's game against the Reds with an elbow injury.

Putnam was pulled after allowing three consecutive hits to start the eighth inning. He was charged with three runs on three hits without recording an out. Putnam, who has battled bone spurs in the past, will have an MRI on his elbow, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.
