Brewers pitcher Ariel Pena took a no-decision in a solid start Tuesday against the Cardinals, as he allowed one run on four hits and three walks over five innings. He also struck out five.
Pena ran out of gas in the sixth, as he allowed a pair of runners to reach and then the bullpen let in the only run charged to Pena all night. It was Pena's best major league appearance yet, as he got 14 swinging strikes from Cardinals hitters in 92 pitches and drew six ground balls. His ERA dropped to 3.46.
