Braeden Cootes C | VAN
Canucks' Braeden Cootes: Collects three points
Cootes scored a goal and added two assists in AHL Abbotsford's 4-3 win over Colorado on Saturday.
Cootes has taken to the AHL quickly, earning two goals and two assists over four games to start the season. The 19-year-old forward is taking advantage of a change in the AHL-CHL agreement, which now allows 19-year-old first-rounders to move to the AHL. Cootes could be a call-up candidate if he continues to dominate for Abbotsford, but don't expect the rebuilding Canucks to rush his development.

Simon Zajicek G | BOS
Bruins' Simon Zajicek: Goalie goal in AHL win
Zajicek scored a goal and stopped 30 of 32 shots in AHL Providence's 6-2 win over Charlotte on Saturday.
It was the first goalie goal in Providence's franchise history. Zajicek has opened the season 1-1-0 with a .943 save percentage over two games. He'll likely split the crease with Jiri Patera this season, though it's unclear who would get a call-up if one of Boston's goaltenders sustain an injury.

Mikey Eyssimont C | BOS
Bruins' Michael Eyssimont: Earns hat trick in AHL win
Eyssimont scored three goals in AHL Providence's 6-2 win over Charlotte on Saturday.
Eyssimont wasn't able to stick on Boston's roster early in the season. The forward hasn't regularly played in the AHL since 2021-22, so it's possible he'll be back in the NHL at some point. His hat trick Saturday accounted for his first points over two games with Providence this season.

Steven Lorentz C | TOR
Blue Jackets' Steven Lorentz: Hat trick in AHL win
Lorentz scored three goals in AHL Cleveland's 5-4 overtime win over Lehigh Valley on Saturday.
Lorentz was dealt to the Blue Jackets' organization in the Matthew Knies/Kirill Marchenko trade in September. With Cleveland, Lorentz has earned four points and eight shots on net over three games. The 30-year-old forward had been an NHL regular over the previous six seasons, and he could eventually find his way to Columbus as a bottom-six forward later in 2026-27.

Oliver Moore C | CHI
Blackhawks' Oliver Moore: Deposits twine finder in loss
Moore tallied a goal and put two shots on net in Saturday's 5-2 loss to the Hurricanes.
Moore tallied the final goal of Saturday's contest, helping the Blackhawks end the game on a positive note. The 21-year-old center has started to find his shooting touch, as he now has a pair of goals across eight shots on net over six appearances to begin the new season. He scored just five goals across 51 regular-season games in 2025-26, so his hot start to the new campaign is noteworthy. He's currently a stash in deep leagues at best in fantasy for the time being, but that could change if Moore continues to drive the Blackhawks offense in the absence of Connor Bedard (shoulder).

Roman Kantserov RW | CHI
Blackhawks' Roman Kantserov: Nets first NHL goal
Kantserov tallied a goal and placed three shots on net in Saturday's 5-2 loss to Carolina.
Kantserov's first NHL goal arrived directly off a draw, where he intercepted a pass and took the puck down the ice and past Carolina's Brandon Bussi. The 22-year-old Kantserov appears to be finding his footing in the NHL after posting three shots on net in addition to his goal. The rookie had a strong season with the KHL's Metallurg Magnitogorsk in 2025-26, where he compiled 36 goals and 64 points across 63 regular-season outings. He'll have plenty of opportunities to produce on Chicago's top line in 2026-27, making him a solid stash candidate in fantasy while he continues to get his bearings.
-
Avery Hayes RW | PIT
Penguins' Avery Hayes: Puts up three points Saturday
Hayes scored a goal and added two assists in AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton's 7-1 win over Hartford on Saturday.
Hayes was a breakout player last year with 39 points over 42 regular-season games for the Baby Pens. The 24-year-old forward has kept it up with five points over three games to start this season. Hayes got some looks with the Penguins down the stretch in 2025-26 and could be a call-up candidate if injuries strike for the big club.

Jordan Martinook LW | CAR
Hurricanes' Jordan Martinook: Contributes two points Saturday
Martinook scored a goal, registered an assist, posted a plus-2 rating and served two PIM in Saturday's 5-2 win over Chicago.
Martinook posted his first two points of the 2026-27 campaign Saturday, where he recorded a secondary helper early in the middle stanza before finding the back of the net himself five minutes into the third period. The 34-year-old winger is looking to build off a productive 2025-26 campaign, where he compiled 12 goals, 29 points, 109 shots on goal, 112 hits and 50 blocked shots across 77 regular-season outings. While his ceiling in fantasy is capped from his bottom-six role, he'll likely remain relevant in deep leagues that value category coverage and banger stats as much as offensive production. Martinook has a solid floor in fantasy due to his steady situation.
-
Taylor Hall LW | CAR
Hurricanes' Taylor Hall: Finds twine in big win
Hall deposited a goal and launched four shots on net in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Blackhawks.
Hall continued his solid start to the new campaign Saturday, where he tallied the Hurricanes' fourth goal of the evening. Overall, the 34-year-old winger is up to three goals, five points, 14 shots on net and eight hits across six appearances. Even in year 17, Hall has been able to showcase his offensive talent alongside Carolina's elite forward depth. The veteran winger is currently on track to secure his third consecutive season with 40-plus points. Hall is a solid streaming option in deep fantasy leagues for the foreseeable future.

Jackson Blake RW | CAR
Hurricanes' Jackson Blake: Posts one of each in win
Blake bagged a goal, tallied an assist, put two shots on net and dished out two hits in Saturday's 5-2 win over Chicago.
Blake tallied Carolina's third goal of the night before recording the primary helper on Taylor Hall's goal later in the second period. The 23-year-old Blake's goal Saturday was his first of the 2026-27 campaign, where he's up to seven points and 16 shots on net across six appearances. He's currently riding a five game point streak and is poised to be involved offensively all year long from the Hurricanes' top six. Blake could reach the 50-point threshold again in 2026-27, which would make him a strong fantasy option in deep leagues with plenty of upside as a weekly streamer in shallow leagues.
