  • Kyle Connor LW | WPG

Jets' Kyle Connor: Scores twice in stunning comeback

Connor scored two goals, including one on the power play, on eight shots in Tuesday's 5-4 overtime win over the Canadiens.

Connor spearheaded Winnipeg's improbable comeback, scoring twice in the final minute of regulation to erase Montreal's two-goal advantage. His second tally came with 32 seconds remaining, forcing overtime after the Jets had trailed 4-0 with less than three minutes left. The winger's eight-shot performance reinforces his elite offensive upside, while his prominent role in crucial scoring situations makes him a cornerstone fantasy contributor. He's averaging over one point per game, as he's notched 17 points (13 goals, four assists) in just 16 contests so far.

  • Cale Makar D | COL

Avalanche's Cale Makar: Two points in Tuesday's loss

Makar produced an even-strength goal and a power-play assist in Tuesday's 7-2 loss to the Blue Jackets.

The superstar defenseman got the Avs on the board midway through the first period, sneaking in from the blue line and snapping the puck into a wide-open cage after a slick feed from Nathan MacKinnon, but Colorado was already in a 2-0 hole at that point. Makar has piled up a goal and six helpers during a three-game point streak, and on the season he's delivered four goals and 18 points in 15 contests, and he hasn't really gotten going yet on the power play -- he has just four assists with the man advantage.

  • Mason Shaw C | MIN

Wild's Mason Shaw: Returns to minors

Shaw was reassigned to AHL Iowa on Wednesday.

Shaw has had two stints with Minnesota this season, but he didn't log any playing time in either period with the NHL squad. The 28-year-old has four goals and 10 points in 10 outings with Iowa in 2026-27.

  • Panthers' Jacob Markstrom: Drawing start Wednesday

Markstrom is starting Wednesday's home game against the Blackhawks, Jameson Olive of the Panthers' official site reports.

Markstrom returned to action Monday against the Red Wings and allowed four goals on 28 shots during the 5-3 defeat. He'll draw a second consecutive start and will have a favorable matchup against the Blackhawks, who have logged 2.20 goals per game to begin the regular season, which is the second-worst mark in the NHL.

  • Jiri Kulich C | BUF

    Sabres' Jiri Kulich: Available Wednesday

Kulich (concussion) is expected to be available for Wednesday's game against Ottawa, per Paul Hamilton of WGR Sports Radio 550.

Kulich has a goal and three points in eight appearances this season. He's not guaranteed to be in the lineup even if he's an option, but if Kulich does play Wednesday, then it will probably be in a bottom-six capacity. Sam Carrick might be a healthy scratch if Kulich is drawing into the lineup.

  • Avalanche's Mackenzie Blackwood: Needed in relief Tuesday

Blackwood turned aside 12 of 15 shots after replacing Scott Wedgewood midway through the second period of Tuesday's 7-2 loss to Columbus.

The switch in the crease didn't do anything to change Colorado's fortunes, as Blackwood got beaten twice in 39 seconds soon after entering the game. The 29-year-old goalie didn't get stuck with the loss however, keeping his win streak intact at four. Through 12 outings this season as the Avs' No. 1 netminder, Blackwood's gone 8-3-0 with a 2.80 GAA and .894 save percentage

  • Avalanche's Scott Wedgewood: Gets hook in road loss

Wedgewood gave up four goals on nine shots before being replaced by Mackenzie Blackwood midway through the second period of Tuesday's 7-2 loss to the Blue Jackets.

Neither goalie found much success in Columbus, but Wedgewood got stuck with the loss after allowing two goals in the first and second frames. Wedgewood hasn't recorded a win since his first start of the season while working as the Avs' No. 2 netminder, going 0-3-1 over his last four outings with a shaky 4.31 GAA and .858 save percentage.

  • Cole Caufield RW | MON

Canadiens' Cole Caufield: Scores twice on power play

Caufield scored two power-play goals on four shots in Tuesday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Jets.

Caufield extended Montreal's lead to 3-0 early in the second period before adding another power-play tally just 46 seconds into the third. The star winger continues to demonstrate his effectiveness with the man advantage, but his contributions weren't enough to prevent an extraordinary Winnipeg comeback. Caufield's finishing ability and prominent power-play role maintain his status as an elite fantasy scoring option, as he has 12 points (eight goals, four assists) over his last 10 games.

  • Eeli Tolvanen RW | NYR

Rangers' Eeli Tolvanen: Snaps slump with two-point night

Tolvanen scored a goal and added an assist in Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Blues.

The 27-year-old winger had gone eight straight games without getting onto the scoresheet, but Tolvanen broke his drought in the third period Tuesday, setting up Oliver Bjorkstrand for the game-winner before icing the victory with an empty-netter. Through 16 games to begin his first season with the Rangers, Tolvanen has contributed four goals and six points with 24 hits, 18 shots on net, 15 blocked shots and a plus-7 rating.

  • J.T. Miller C | NYR

Rangers' J.T. Miller: Two helpers in win over St. Louis

Miller picked up two assists while adding four shots on net, two blocked shots, two PIM, one hit and a plus-2 rating in Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Blues.

The veteran center had a hand in tallies by Adam Fox early in the second period, as well as Eeli Tolvanen's empty-netter later in the third. Miller has gotten onto the scoresheet in nine of the last 13 games, collecting four goals and 12 points over that stretch as he looks to bounce back from last season's disappointing 53 points (17 goals, 36 assists) over 68 regular-season contests.
