  • Joey Daccord G | SEA

Kraken's Joey Daccord: Guarding goal Sunday

Daccord will defend the road net against Washington on Sunday, per Sound of Hockey.

Daccord struggled in Tuesday's 6-2 loss to Vegas, but he has a 2-1-0 record this season. He has stopped 72 of 79 shots in three games to begin the 2026-27 campaign. Washington (3-1-0) has scored 14 goals in four games this season.

  • Capitals' Pierre-Luc Dubois: Unavailable Sunday

Dubois (illness) won't play against Seattle on Sunday.

Dubois will miss at least one game, but it's unclear if he will be ready to play against Carolina on Tuesday. He has contributed one goal, three assists, six shots on net, five hits and three blocked shots in four appearances this season. Ethen Frank or Ivan Miroshnichenko will replace Dubois in Sunday's lineup against the Kraken.

  • Matt Roy D | WAS

Capitals' Matt Roy: Not expected to play

Roy (lower body) isn't expected to play against Seattle on Sunday, according to Tarik El-Bashir of Monumental Sports Network.

Roy remains day-to-day and will miss his third straight game. He has been skating on his own and might be ready to return to the lineup soon. Roy hasn't earned a point in two appearances this season, but he has registered five hits and five blocked shots.

  • Capitals' Logan Thompson: Tending twine Sunday

Thompson will patrol the home crease against Seattle on Sunday, per Sammi Silber of The Hockey News.

Thompson has won his previous three starts this season, stopping 79 of 85 shots. Seattle has amassed 21 goals in five games this campaign. Thompson went 1-1-0 against the Kraken in the 2025-26 regular season, surrendering six goals on 51 shots.

  • Capitals' Pierre-Luc Dubois: Game-time decision Sunday

Dubois (illness) will be a game-time decision for Sunday's home clash against the Kraken, per Sammi Silber of The Hockey News.

Dubois missed Saturday's practice with an illness, and it seems that some effects of his sickness have continued to linger ahead of Sunday's clash. The 28-year-old center's plan is to take warmups before making a decision on whether or not he'll play Sunday. He's off to a solid start to the 2026-27 season, where he's posted a goal, four points, six shots on net, five hits and three blocked shots across four appearances. Ethen Frank and Ivan Miroshnichenko will also take warmups Sunday in case Dubois can't go.

  • Golden Knights' Victor Olofsson: Shifts to IR

Olofsson (undisclosed) was placed on injured reserve Sunday, per the NHL media site.

Olofsson suffered an undisclosed injury in Tuesday's 6-2 win over Seattle. He is week-to-week, and it's unclear when he will be ready to return. Olofsson has four goals, one assist and nine shots on net in four appearances this season.

  • Travis Konecny RW | PHI

Flyers' Travis Konecny: Moves to IR

Konecny (lower body) was placed on injured reserve Sunday, according to the NHL media site.

Konecny sat out Saturday's 5-1 loss to Boston and will miss additional time after moving to the IR list. It's unclear when he will be ready to return to the lineup, but he won't be an option for at least the next three games, starting with Sunday's matchup against Carolina.

  • Blackhawks' Connor Bedard: Cleared for contact

Bedard (shoulder) participated fully in Sunday's practice, per Charlie Roumeliotis of WGN Radio.

According to Roumeliotis on Sunday, Bedard has a doctor's visit scheduled for this coming week to update the 21-year-old forward's timeline for a potential return. It's unclear if Bedard will be ready to play as early as Tuesday's matchup against Pittsburgh, but he appears to be inching toward his 2026-27 debut. He notched 30 goals and 75 points in 69 regular-season games for the Blackhawks in 2025-26.

  • Panthers' Eetu Luostarinen: All clear for Monday

Luostarinen (undisclosed) will be available to play in Monday's road clash against the Sabres, per George Richards of Florida Hockey Now.

Luostarinen was hit by a shot attempt and underwent an evaluation following Saturday's game against the Wild, but he returned to practice Sunday and confirmed he is feeling good. The 28-year-old winger also mentioned that he would've returned to Saturday's clash if he was hit by the puck earlier in the game. To begin the 2026-27 season, Luostarinen has two goals, eight shots on net, nine hits and five blocked shots across five outings. He'll likely return to his role as the team's second-line left winger for Monday's game against the Sabres.

  • Blue Jackets' Pyotr Andreyanov: Struggling with bottom-tier team

Andreyanov has gone 2-9-0 with a 3.51 GAA and an .893 save percentage over 11 games for HC Sochi in the KHL this season.

Andreyanov is in the second season of a five-year KHL contract, which has a release clause after four years. The goalie signed with CSKA Moscow, but he has since been loaned to HC Sochi, where he is playing for the worst team in the league. That will have a significant negative effect on his numbers this season, but the steady playing time should nonetheless help his development. Barring a change in his contract status, Andreyanov won't be coming to North America until 2029-30 at the earliest.
