  • Red Wings' William Wallinder: Grabs first NHL goal Friday

Wallinder potted a goal, placed three shots on net and had two blocked shots in Friday's 6-3 loss to the Kraken.

Just days after posting an assist in his NHL debut, Wallinder tallied the first goal of his career four minutes into Friday's second period. The 24-year-old blueliner is making the most of his opportunity in Detroit with Simon Edvinsson (contract dispute) sidelined. Wallinder showed steady improvement with AHL Grand Rapids over the past three seasons, compiling two goals and 20 points in 66 regular-season games with the Griffins in 2025-26. The six-foot-four Wallinder should continue to have a role for the Red Wings at least over the next handful of games, and if he can secure his spot on the team long-term, he'll have decent upside in dynasty-based fantasy leagues.

  • Red Wings' Michael Brandsegg-Nygard: Nets first NHL goal Friday

Brandsegg-Nygard scored a goal, recorded an assist, fired four shots on net, served two PIM and dished out four hits in Friday's 6-3 loss to Seattle.

Brandsegg-Nygard tallied his first goal of his NHL career Friday late in the third period. He also made Friday's effort his first with multiple points in the same game, as he added a secondary helper on William Wallinder's tally early in the second period. Overall, the 21-year-old Brandsegg-Nygard is up to three points, 14 shots on net and 15 hits across four appearances in 2026-27. He's off to a blazing start in the new campaign compared to his rookie season, where he posted just one point and 20 shots on net in 14 regular-season games. The young forward plays tough, as he's well on the way to posting 100-plus hits in addition to his impressive offensive contributions. As long as he holds a role on Detroit's second line, Brandsegg-Nygard is a fantasy sleeper who can provide two-way upside in leagues that value banger stats.

  • Red Wings' Viktor Arvidsson: Scores again with man advantage

Arvidsson tallied a power-play goal and placed three shots on net in Friday's 6-3 loss to the Kraken.

Arvidsson extended his point streak to three games Friday, where he gave the Red Wings an early lead with his third power-play goal of the season. All three of the veteran winger's goals this season have been at a man advantage, and he's currently scoring at a point-per-game pace across four outings. While he hasn't posted a season above 61 points across his 12 full campaigns at the NHL level, the 33-year-old winger will be given every opportunity to chase a new career high given his current role on the team's top line and man-advantage unit. Arvidsson is a strong waiver-wire pickup in all fantasy formats while he continues to keep Detroit's offense active.

  • Vince Dunn D | SEA

Kraken's Vince Dunn: Finds twine on power play

Dunn recorded a power-play goal and put two shots on net in Friday's 6-3 win over Detroit.

Dunn picked up his second power-play point of the season Friday when he found the back of the net to give Seattle a 6-2 lead in the third. The 29-year-old blueliner is off to an excellent start in the new season, where he has totaled two goals, five points, six shots on net and five blocked shots across five appearances. While he's been hovering around the 40-point range over the last three seasons, he has proven to be capable of sustaining high-scoring totals over a full season. Dunn has a chance for a resurgence in 2026-27, making him a strong fantasy option on the blue line in most league formats.

  • Kraken's Mackie Samoskevich: Bags goal Friday

Samoskevich tallied a goal and placed two shots on net in Friday's 6-3 win over the Red Wings.

After securing his first two goals with the Kraken in Sunday's clash, Samoskevich got back to his scoring ways Friday with the team's third goal of the night. The 23-year-old winger is on track to post another double-digit goal season in his first year with Seattle. He's going to be given every opportunity to replicate his past production and beyond, as the Kraken bestowed their faith upon him with a three-year, $11.55 million contract in the offseason. Samoskevich is currently skating on Seattle's top line, which elevates his ceiling in fantasy long-term. He's a solid waiver-wire pickup in deep leagues with 20-plus goal upside.

  • Kraken's Berkly Catton: Posts another two-point night

Catton scored a goal, dished out an assist, posted a plus-2 rating, fired four shots on net and recorded two hits in Friday's 6-3 win over Detroit.

Catton secured his second two-point game of the new season Friday by scoring Seattle's first goal of the night and following it up with a primary helper late in the middle stanza. The 20-year-old forward is off to a strong start across five games, where he has two goals, four points and 11 shots on net. After a rookie campaign where he compiled seven goals and 17 points over 66 regular-season outings, Catton appears primed to take a step forward in his sophomore campaign. He'll likely continue to center one of Seattle's two middle-six lines moving forward. He's an intriguing stash option in deep fantasy leagues.

  • Ben Meyers C | SEA

Kraken's Ben Meyers: Tallies three points Friday

Meyers potted a goal, registered two assists, posted a plus-3 rating, put three shots on net, served two PIM and dished out three hits in Friday's 6-3 win over the Red Wings.

Meyers posted his name on the scoresheet for the first three times of the new season in Friday's contest. He picked up a pair of secondary helpers on the goals scored by his new linemate Frederick Gaudreau before later finding the back of the net himself late in the second period. The 27-year-old Meyers will look to build on the career year he posted in 2025-26, where he compiled seven goals, 15 points, 61 shots on net and 66 hits across 52 regular-season contests. He's currently off the fantasy radar, but with the first three-point night of his career in the books, Meyers could change that with a string of strong performances.

  • Kraken's Frederick Gaudreau: Nets pair of goals in win

Gaudreau tallied two goals, posted a plus-2 rating, placed two shots on net and recorded two blocked shots in Friday's 6-3 win over Detroit.

Gaudreau struck the back of the net twice across three minutes early in Friday's second period, where he showcased a strong connection with his new linemates Ryan Winterton and Ben Meyers. The 33-year-old Gaudreau is up to three goals, seven shots on net, three hits and five blocked shots across five outings to open the new season. He's just two seasons removed from an 18-goal, 37-point campaign with the Wild, and the veteran forward should have a safe role as the team's fourth-line center while looking to get back on track. Gaudreau is best left on waivers for now, but with a couple more performances similar to Friday's outing, he'll be a noteworthy waiver-wire pickup in deep fantasy leagues.

  • Red Wings' Daniil Tarasov: Debuts for Detroit in relief

Tarasov halted eight of the nine shots on net he saw in Friday's 6-3 loss to Seattle.

Tarasov made his regular-season debut for the Red Wings on Friday, where he entered the contest late in the second period in relief of John Gibson. From the point Tarasov entered the contest to the end of the game, he kept the score even at one goal apiece. The 27-year-old goalie is looking for a fresh start in Motor City, as he struggled at times with the Panthers in 2025-26, compiling a 13-15-3 record, a 3.05 GAA and an .895 save percentage across 33 regular-season starts. Tarasov is slated to make his first start for the Wings against Montreal on Saturday, but he's a risky fantasy option until Detroit can turn things around defensively.

  • John Gibson G | DET

Red Wings' John Gibson: Gets the hook Friday

Gibson turned away 10 of the 15 shots on net he saw in Friday's 6-3 loss to the Kraken.

Gibson was removed from Friday's contest after he conceded Seattle's fifth goal of the night just over 14 minutes into the second period. The 33-year-old netminder didn't receive much support defensively, but Friday's outing was his weakest statistically across four outings this season, where he has a 1-3-0 record, a 3.43 GAA and an .862 save percentage. Until the Red Wings can shore up their defenses, the veteran goalie might struggle to find consistency in fantasy for the time being. However, he's the clear No. 1 option in Detroit, and while Daniil Tarasov might start to see a handful of starts, Gibson should see a plethora of opportunities between the pipes in an effort to turn things around.
