  • Travis Konecny RW | PHI

Flyers' Travis Konecny: Moves to IR

Konecny (lower body) was placed on injured reserve Sunday, according to the NHL media site.

Konecny sat out Saturday's 5-1 loss to Boston and will miss additional time after moving to the IR list. It's unclear when he will be ready to return to the lineup, but he won't be an option for at least the next three games, starting with Sunday's matchup against Carolina.

  • Blackhawks' Connor Bedard: Cleared for contact

Bedard (shoulder) participated fully in Sunday's practice, per Charlie Roumeliotis of WGN Radio.

According to Roumeliotis on Sunday, Bedard has a doctor's visit scheduled for this coming week to update the 21-year-old forward's timeline for a potential return. It's unclear if Bedard will be ready to play as early as Tuesday's matchup against Pittsburgh, but he appears to be inching toward his 2026-27 debut. He notched 30 goals and 75 points in 69 regular-season games for the Blackhawks in 2025-26.

  • Panthers' Eetu Luostarinen: All clear for Monday

Luostarinen (undisclosed) will be available to play in Monday's road clash against the Sabres, per George Richards of Florida Hockey Now.

Luostarinen was hit by a shot attempt and underwent an evaluation following Saturday's game against the Wild, but he returned to practice Sunday and confirmed he is feeling good. The 28-year-old winger also mentioned that he would've returned to Saturday's clash if he was hit by the puck earlier in the game. To begin the 2026-27 season, Luostarinen has two goals, eight shots on net, nine hits and five blocked shots across five outings. He'll likely return to his role as the team's second-line left winger for Monday's game against the Sabres.

  • Blue Jackets' Pyotr Andreyanov: Struggling with bottom-tier team

Andreyanov has gone 2-9-0 with a 3.51 GAA and an .893 save percentage over 11 games for HC Sochi in the KHL this season.

Andreyanov is in the second season of a five-year KHL contract, which has a release clause after four years. The goalie signed with CSKA Moscow, but he has since been loaned to HC Sochi, where he is playing for the worst team in the league. That will have a significant negative effect on his numbers this season, but the steady playing time should nonetheless help his development. Barring a change in his contract status, Andreyanov won't be coming to North America until 2029-30 at the earliest.

  • Canadiens' Alexander Zharovsky: Off to decent start in KHL season

Zharovsky has two goals and six assists over his first 14 games of the season for the KHL's Salavat Yulaev Ufa.

Zharovsky was a little sharper last year with 42 points over 59 regular-season games, but this isn't a bad start. The Canadiens prospect is still just 19 years old, so playing regularly in the KHL for the second year running is a strong accomplishment. He's in the last year of his contract, so it's possible he'll be in North America for 2027-28.

  • Maple Leafs' Nick Blankenburg: Scores against former team

Blankenburg scored a goal and added three hits in Saturday's 6-3 win over the Avalanche.

Blankenburg made his season debut for the Maple Leafs and came back to haunt his former team. The defenseman saw 16:11 of ice time, including 54 seconds on the power play. Blankenburg may have a path to more usage after Chris Tanev (upper body) left Saturday's contest, in which Toronto had seven defensemen in the lineup. Steady power-play time will be hard to come by for Blankenburg, but he could compete for bottom-four minutes moving forward.

  • Cam Crotty D | OTT

Senators' Cameron Crotty: Moved to injured reserve

Crotty (illness) was placed on injured reserve Sunday.

In a corresponding move, Ottawa recalled Jorian Donovan from AHL Belleville on Sunday. Crotty has missed the last two games, and it's unclear when he will be available to return.

  • Senators' Jorian Donovan: Brought up by Sens

Donovan was recalled from AHL Belleville on Sunday.

Donovan returned to Belleville on Tuesday when the Senators needed Jonas Johansson to back up Samuel Ersson with Linus Ullmark sidelined, but with the latter fully healthy, Ottawa had the space to recall the young defenseman. The 22-year-old Donovan has appeared in three games for Belleville to open the 2026-27 campaign, where he has logged zero points and five shots on net. He'll likely serve as a depth option for Ottawa until Jake Sanderson (lower body) and Artem Zub (knee) are ready to return.

  • Rangers' Igor Shesterkin: Shifting to LTIR

Shesterkin (lower body) was placed on long-term injured reserve by the Rangers on Sunday, per Mollie Walker of the New York Post.

As expected, Shesterkin will move to LTIR less than 24 hours after he was ruled out for the season with a lower-body injury. It's a devastating setback for the 30-year-old netminder and the Rangers' organization, as Shesterkin was dialed in to begin the new season, compiling a 3-1-0 record, a 1.79 GAA and a .927 save percentage across five appearances. He'll set his sights on being healthy for the start of the 2027-28 regular season. In the meantime, Dylan Garand is expected to be the lead option between the pipes until Joonas Korpisalo (lower body) is ready to return.

  • Canucks' Kevin Lankinen: First off Sunday

Lankinen is expected to defend the road net against the Rangers on Sunday, according to Thomas Drance of The Athletic.

Lankinen has struggled mightily early in the 2026-27 campaign, posting a 1-4-0 record and surrendering 23 goals on 106 shots. The Rangers (4-2-0) have scored 16 goals in six outings to begin the season.
