  • Senators' Linus Ullmark: Tending twine Monday

Ullmark will guard the road goal against New Jersey on Monday, per Andrew Wilimek of the Senators' official site.

Ullmark has been superb at the beginning of the 2026-27 campaign, stopping 81 of 86 shots and posting a 4-0-0 record. Over his NHL career, he has gone 13-5-0 with a 2.25 GAA and a .928 save percentage in 19 regular-season games against the Devils. New Jersey (2-2-0) has scored only 10 goals in four games this campaign.

  • Senators' Jake Sanderson: Ruled out for Monday

Sanderson (lower body) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Devils, Bruce Garrioch of Postmedia reports.

Sanderson exited the Senators' Opening Night matchup against Toronto due to a lower-body injury, and he'll be sidelined for a fifth consecutive game during the first half of a back-to-back set Monday. It's not yet clear when he'll be able to return, but his next opportunity to do so will be Tuesday against the Blues.

  • Devils' Nico Daws: First goalie off Monday

Daws was the first goalie to leave the ice Monday, Mike Morreale of NHL.com reports, indicating he'll be between the home pipes versus the Senators.

Daws will look to bounce back from a disappointing first outing this year in which he gave up six goals on 32 shots in a loss to the Islanders. With the 25-year-old Daws getting the nod Monday, fantasy managers can expect starter Jake Allen to feature on the road versus the Red Wings on Tuesday.

  • Panthers' Jacob Markstrom: Starting in Buffalo

Markstrom will defend the road net against the Sabres on Monday, Rob Darragh of the Panthers' official site reports.

Markstrom has stopped 76 of 83 shots for a 2-1-1 record to begin the 2026-27 campaign. Buffalo (2-3-0) has registered 11 goals in five games this season. During his NHL career, Markstrom has gone 8-2-2 with a 2.16 GAA and a .924 save percentage in 13 regular-season appearances against the Sabres.

  • Capitals' Rasmus Sandin: Shifts to LTIR

Sandin (knee) was placed on long-term injured reserve Monday.

Sandin is still recovering from knee surgery, and moving to LTIR won't impact his timeline. After having his right ACL repaired in late April, he received a timetable of 6-9 months for his recovery. Sandin registered five goals, 29 points, 90 shots on net, 127 blocked shots and 88 hits in 73 games for Washington during the 2025-26 regular season.

  • Matt Roy D | WAS

Capitals' Matt Roy: Placed on injured reserve

Roy (lower body) was designated for injured reserve Monday.

Roy has already missed enough time to be eligible to come off injured reserve at any point, but the fact that he hasn't been cleared for contact points to him missing at least the upcoming back-to-back against Carolina and Montreal on Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively. While Dylan McIlrath has been playing in Roy's stead, the Caps called up Justin Holl, who could find himself in the lineup instead.

  • Connor Brown RW | NJ

Devils' Connor Brown: Placed on injured reserve

Brown (lower body) was placed on injured reserve by the Devils on Monday, retroactive to Sept. 28.

Brown has missed the first several weeks of the regular season due to his lower-body injury, and he'll be eligible to be activated off injured reserve whenever he's cleared to return by the team's medical staff. The 32-year-old made 75 regular-season appearances for New Jersey last year and recorded 18 goals, 25 assists, 37 blocked shots, 25 hits and 22 PIM while averaging 17:33 of ice time.

  • Nick Seeler D | PHI

Flyers' Nick Seeler: Notches assist in loss

Seeler provided an assist, two hits and four blocked shots in Sunday's 4-1 loss to the Hurricanes.

Seeler has chipped in two helpers over seven games this season. The 33-year-old defenseman is seeing steady bottom-four usage, though his ice time has ticked up since Rasmus Ristolainen (upper body) exited the lineup. Seeler has added four shots on net, 10 hits, 20 blocked shots, four PIM and an even plus-minus rating, which is solid defensive work given the lousy play of the team around him.

  • Flyers' Christian Dvorak: Nets lone goal in loss

Dvorak scored a goal on three shots in Sunday's 4-1 loss to the Hurricanes.

The Flyers' slow start to the year -- eight goals over seven games -- has led to everyone's offense being down. Dvorak has chipped in a goal and an assist so far while adding eight shots on net, nine hits, five blocked shots and a minus-3 rating. The 30-year-old is seeing top-six minutes again this year, but that will lead to some rough numbers until the Flyers escape their funk.

  • Joseph Woll G | PHI

Flyers' Joseph Woll: Gets little help in loss

Woll stopped 26 of 30 shots in Sunday's 4-1 loss to the Hurricanes.

The Flyers have been awful to start the season, and they were no match for the defending champions in this game. Woll has made four appearances so far, going 0-2-2 with 12 goals allowed on 140 shots. He's often been able to keep games close -- this was the first time in one of his outings the Flyers lost by multiple goals. Dan Vladar can't say the same, as Philadelphia has gotten outscored 16-2 in his games. The Flyers' next game is Tuesday at home versus the Kraken, but Woll is still a risky fantasy play even if he gets that start on a 16-game slate in the NHL.
