Panthers' Jonah Gadjovich: Remains out indefinitely
The Panthers announced Thursday that Gadjovich (upper body) will be out indefinitely.
Gadjovich hasn't played since Oct. 25, 2025 due to his injury. He had three assists, seven PIM and 30 hits in 10 regular-season appearances last year. Gadjovich is expected to see time on the fourth line once he's available.

Walker Duehr RW | WPG
Jets' Walker Duehr: Battling lower-body injury
Duehr is dealing with a lower-body injury, but he is skating, per Mitchell Clinton of the Jets' official site on Thursday.
Duehr had 17 goals and 34 points in 62 regular-season appearances with AHL Manitoba in 2025-26. The 28-year-old has also scored 11 goals and 21 points across 95 career regular-season NHL games. Duehr is projected to start the upcoming campaign in the minors.

Kyle Keyser G | SJ
Sharks' Kyle Keyser: Set for long-term absence
Keyser has suffered a long-term upper-body injury, Curtis Pashelka of The San Jose Mercury News reports Thursday.
Keyser's injury led the team to sign Ilya Samsonov ahead of training camp. Even without his long-term injury, Keyser was a near-lock to spend the bulk of the season in the minors with AHL San Jose.

Brian Dumoulin D | LA
Kings' Brian Dumoulin: Fails physical
Dumoulin (undisclosed) failed his physical and is undergoing further testing, Zach Dooley of the Kings' official site reports Thursday.
Dumoulin had two goals, 17 points, 22 PIM, 36 hits and 89 blocks in 82 regular-season appearances with the Kings in 2025-26. He's played in at least 80 games in each of the past four regular seasons, but it remains to be seen if he'll be available for the start of 2026-27. If Dumoulin does start the campaign on the shelf, then Erik Gustafsson is likely to serve on the third pairing in his place.

Mats Zuccarello RW | LA
Kings' Mats Zuccarello: Dealing with minor shoulder injury
The Kings announced Thursday that Zuccarello is dealing with a minor shoulder injury but should be healthy at some point next week, Zach Dooley of the Kings' official site reports.
While Zuccarello is limited to begin training camp and could miss some preseason action, it seems unlikely that his injury will impact his availability for the start of the regular season. The 39-year-old appeared in 59 regular-season games with the Wild last year and recorded 15 goals, 39 assists, 26 blocked shots, 20 PIM and 16 hits while averaging 18:39 of ice time.

Kevin Fiala LW | LA
Kings' Kevin Fiala: Not close to returning
Fiala (lower leg fracture) is at least three weeks away from being ready to play, Zach Dooley of the Kings' official site reports Thursday.
Fiala is slated to begin skating on his own next week, so he is making progress. He hasn't played since suffering the injury during the 2026 Winter Olympics. Fiala is expected to serve in a top-six capacity and will likely also be part of the first power-play unit once he's healthy.

Brad Marchand LW | FLA
Panthers' Brad Marchand: Will miss October
Marchand (lower body) is expected to spend October rehabbing, per Panthers TV Rinkside Reporter Katie Engleson on Thursday.
Marchand will miss Florida's first 14 regular-season games if he's able to return Nov. 2 versus Detroit. He had 27 goals, 54 points, 38 PIM and 36 hits in 52 regular-season outings with the Panthers in 2025-26. The 38-year-old might find it difficult to initially shake off the rust after missing the start of the campaign, which could impact his production after returning from the injury.

Filip Hallander C | EDM
Penguins' Filip Hallander: Given all-clear
Hallander is good to go ahead of training camp, according to assistant GM Jason Spezza, Wes Crosby of NHL.com reports Thursday.
Hallander had missed time in the minors due to injury, but he appears to be a full go in the lead-up to 2026-27. While far from a lock, the 26-year-old center could push for an Opening Night roster spot, though he would need to edge out several players in an already crowded forward group. Even if Hallander doesn't make the team to open the year, he could suit up in more than the 13 regular-season tilts he played in last season.

Neal Pionk D | WPG
Jets' Neal Pionk: Good to go
Pionk (undisclosed) is healthy going into training camp, per Mike McIntyre of the Winnipeg Free Press on Thursday.
Pionk had three goals, 12 points, 37 PIM, 111 hits and 75 blocks in 51 regular-season appearances with the Jets in 2025-26. He'll be looking to shake off that rough campaign and return to the 30-point milestone. He recorded over 30 points in six consecutive regular seasons from 2019-20 through 2024-25, so the 31-year-old's track record suggests that he can get there again.

Morgan Barron C | WPG
Jets' Morgan Barron: Back in action to begin camp
Barron (lower body) skated on the second line during Thursday's practice session on the first day of training camp, Mike McIntyre of the Winnipeg Free Press reports.
Barron missed the end of the 2025-26 regular season due to a lower-body injury, but he appears to have moved past the issue over the summer. The 27-year-old racked up 11 goals, 12 assists, 132 hits, 40 blocked shots and 31 PIM while averaging 12:48 of ice time across 65 regular-season appearances with the Jets last year.
