Andrew Mangiapane LW | CHI
Blackhawks' Andrew Mangiapane: Placed on injured reserve
Mangiapane (lower body) was put on injured reserve Wednesday.
Mangiapane's placement on IR is retroactive to Sept. 29, which is when he sustained the injury during a game against Vegas. He's considered week-to-week, so while the 30-year-old can be activated at any time, Mangiapane isn't viewed as being close to returning. Dominic Toninato was summoned from AHL Rockford in a corresponding move.

Dominic Toninato C | CHI
Blackhawks' Dominic Toninato: Called up Wednesday
Toninato was recalled from AHL Rockford on Wednesday.
Toninato was waived by the Blackhawks ahead of the regular season and subsequently sent to the minors. However, he'll rejoin the major-league club after Andrew Mangiapane (lower body) was placed on injured reserve Wednesday. Toninato made eight regular-season appearances for the Blackhawks last year, recording no goals, an assist, 12 hits, six PIM and a blocked shot while averaging 9:09 of ice time.

Justin Faulk D | DET
Red Wings' Justin Faulk: Two points including GWG
Faulk scored the game-winning goal and added an assist in Tuesday's 5-3 win over Ottawa.
The veteran blueliner gave the Red Wings a 4-1 lead early in the second period on a strong individual effort that saw him begin a rush from center ice and crash through the Ottawa defense before wiring the puck past Samuel Ersson. Faulk then had a hand in Alex DeBrincat's empty-netter late in the third. The points were Faulk's first of the season in three games as the 34-year-old begins his first full campaign with Detroit, and looks to follow up a 16-goal, 40-point season in 2025-26 split between the Blues and Wings.

Viktor Arvidsson LW | DET
Red Wings' Viktor Arvidsson: Two-point effort against Ottawa
Arvidsson scored a power-play goal and added an even-strength assist in Tuesday's 5-3 win over the Senators.
Skating on a line with Dylan Larkin in the center's season debut, Arvidsson fed the disgruntled star for a goal midway through the first period, before Larkin had a hand in Arvidsson's own tally early in the second. The veteran winger has lit the lamp in back-to-back games, and through three contests to begin the season he's produced two goals and three points. Arvidsson is coming off a 2025-26 season with Boston that saw him reach 25 goals for the fifth time in his career and 50 points for the fourth time, numbers he stands a good chance of repeating given his top-line placement and spot on the No. 1 power-play unit for Detroit.

Aydar Suniev LW | CGY
Flames' Aydar Suniev: Up from minors
Suniev was called up from AHL Calgary on Wednesday.
The Flames also recalled Jonathan Castagna on Wednesday. Suniev has an assist in two outings with AHL Calgary in 2026-27. The Flames had just 12 healthy forwards on their roster, so adding Suniev and Castagna gives them extra options going into Thursday's tilt against Colorado.

Lucas Raymond LW | DET
Red Wings' Lucas Raymond: Dishes three helpers in Tuesday's win
Raymond notched three assists, one on the power play, in Tuesday's 5-3 win over the Senators.
The 24-year-old winger had a hand in Detroit's final three goals of the night, including Justin Faluk's game-winner early in the second period. The points were Raymond's first of the season in three games, as he looks to compile his third straight campaign with at least 25 goals and 70 points.
-
Alex DeBrincat RW | DET
Red Wings' Alex DeBrincat: Three points in win over Sens
DeBrincat scored two goals and added an assist in Tuesday's 5-3 win over Ottawa.
The veteran winger scored Detroit's first and last goals of the night, and in between he helped to set up Dylan Larkin for his first tally of 2026-27. The goals were DeBrincat's first of the campaign, and through three games he's produced four points with eight shots on net, four hits, three blocked shots, four PIM and a plus-2 rating.

Dylan Larkin C | DET
Red Wings' Dylan Larkin: Makes instant impact in season debut
Larkin scored an even-strength goal and added a power-play assist in Tuesday's 5-3 win over the Senators.
After a turbulent offseason that featured a public trade request and a delayed start to the campaign due to an upper-body injury, Larkin re-joined the lineup Tuesday and wasted no time demonstrating his importance to the Red Wings. The 30-year-old center gave his team a 2-1 lead midway through the first period by completing a tic-tac-toe sequence with Viktor Arvidsson and Alex DeBrincat, then Arvidsson banged home a Larkin rebound for his own tally early in the second. Detroit may give Larkin a chance to rehabilitate his value on the open market before re-engaging trade talks with other clubs, so expect him to remain in a prominent spot in the lineup -- he tied for the lead among all Wings forwards with 6:01 in power-play time Tuesday.
-
John Gibson G | DET
Red Wings' John Gibson: Pockets first win of season
Gibson made 22 saves in Tuesday's 5-3 win over the Senators.
The veteran netminder wasn't exactly in top form, but the Red Wings offense gave him plenty of support as Dylan Larkin returned to action. Gibson has started every game for Detroit to begin the season, going 1-2-0 in three starts despite a 2.39 GAA and .903 save percentage. He should get his first night off this weekend, as the Wings play a back-to-back set at home Friday against the Kraken, and on the road Saturday against the Canadiens.

William Eklund LW | OTT
Senators' William Eklund: Two-point night in Detroit
Eklund scored an even-strength goal and added a power-play assist in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to the Red Wings.
After setting up Drake Batherson for a tally early in the second period, Eklund potted his first goal as a Senator midway through the third, jumping on a loose puck after Fabian Zetterlund's shot went wide and banking it home off John Gibson from a sharp angle. The points were the first of the season in three games for Eklund, who was acquired from the Sharks in the offseason. With a top-six role and a spot on the top power-play unit with the Senators, the 23-year-old Eklund is in prime position to take a step forward with his production and potentially reach the 20-goal and 60-point plateaus for the first time.
