  • Lightning's John Carlson: First two goals for new team

Carlson scored twice in 3-2 win over the Wild on Thursday. He fired nine shots.

The goals were his first two with the Lightning. He signed a two-year, $17 million contract with the team on July 1. Carlson's first pushed the scored to 2-0 in the first period and his second -- a power-play blast -- came in the second and stood as the winner. The goals extended Carlson's point streak to three games and four points. The defender is running the top power play unit and will get plenty of opportunity to match his 60 points from last season.

  • Blues' Connor McMichael: Tickles twine Thursday

McMichael scored a goal on two shots in Thursday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Sharks.

McMichael has scored in consecutive contests. The 25-year-old is having no trouble settling in with the Blues, earning two goals, two assists, 10 shots on net and a minus-2 rating over the first four games of the season. As long as he stays productive, he'll likely remain in a second-line role with time on the second power-play unit.

  • Joel Hofer G | STL

Blues' Joel Hofer: Takes overtime loss

Hofer stopped 24 of 27 shots in Thursday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Sharks.

Hofer let a couple of one-goal leads slip away, and Darnell Nurse made him pay for that with the overtime winner. It's still not all that bad of a game for Hofer, who has gone 1-1-1 with five goals allowed on 71 shots over his three starts to open the campaign. The 26-year-old netminder is doing his part to maintain the starting job for the Blues despite the presence of Jordan Binnington on the roster. The Blues' next game is Saturday at home versus the Blue Jackets, which is a solid matchup for whichever goalie gets the nod.

  • Collin Graf RW | SJ

Sharks' Collin Graf: Pots first goal of season

Graf scored a goal on three shots and added two hits in Thursday's 3-2 overtime win over the Blues.

Graf has filled a middle-six role early in the season, and he's not involved on the power play. The versatile forward is likely set for less prominent usage than last year since the Sharks have multiple young forwards making the jump to the NHL. Graf has a goal, four shots on net, eight hits, three blocked shots, seven PIM and a minus-1 rating over four outings to start the campaign.

  • Sharks' Darnell Nurse: Seals win in overtime

Nurse scored a goal on two shots and blocked two shots in Thursday's 3-2 overtime win over the Blues.

Nurse tallied just over a minute into overtime to give the Sharks their third win of the year. All of those victories have come past regulation time. The goal was Nurse's first point for the Sharks, and he's added five shots on net, six hits, 10 blocked shots, four PIM and an even plus-minus rating. At his best, he's a multi-category contributor in fantasy, but he could be limited on offense since he's not receiving power-play time early in the campaign.

  • Sharks' Tyler Toffoli: One of each in overtime win

Toffoli scored a goal on four shots and added an assist in Thursday's 3-2 overtime win over the Blues.

Toffoli scored in the second period and assisted on Collin Graf's tally in the third. This was Toffoli's second multi-point effort through four outings this season as he continues to provide offense and experience in a middle-six role. He has two goals, two assists, 11 shots on net, three hits and a plus-2 rating.

  • Sharks' Alex Nedeljkovic: Secures overtime win

Nedeljkovic stopped 24 of 26 shots in Thursday's 3-2 overtime win over the Blues.

Nedeljkovic put in a solid performance in his first start of the season. The Sharks did their part, twice coming back from one-goal deficits before Darnell Nurse tallied in overtime. Nedeljkovic has functioned as Yaroslav Askarov's backup to begin 2026-27, but the two worked in a timeshare at various points in 2025-26. If Nedeljkovic's play remains strong, he could carve out more time. The Sharks have a tough matchup ahead when they host the Oilers on Saturday.

  • Bo Horvat C | NYI

    Islanders' Bo Horvat: Undergoing evaluation

Horvat is undergoing evaluation for an upper-body injury he sustained late in the third period of Thursday's game versus the Blackhawks, Andrew Gross of Newsday reports.

Horvat was caught up high on a Frank Nazar hit. The 31-year-old Horvat racked up two goals, including one on the power play, prior to the injury. If he is unavailable Saturday versus the Lightning, Kyle MacLean will likely enter the lineup, while Brayden Schenn could move from the wing to center to replenish the depth down the middle. Horvat has earned five points over four games this season.

  • Predators' William Trudeau: Leaves game with injury

Trudeau (upper body) won't finish Thursday's game versus the Canadiens.

Trudeau, a former Canadiens prospect, was hurt in the first period of Thursday's game against his former team. The 23-year-old defenseman was playing in his third career NHL contest and has been gaining momentum on Nashville's blue line. Trudeau can be considered day-to-day for now, and if he misses time, Jack Ahcan would likely get back into the lineup.

  • Predators' Mavrik Bourque: Departs Thursday's game

Bourque (upper body) won't finish Thursday's game versus the Canadiens.

Bourque appeared to be hurt during the second period. The 24-year-old forward has collected just one assist over four contests to begin his Nashville tenure. He'll be considered day-to-day due to this injury until the team provides more information.
