  • Josh Anderson RW | MON

Canadiens' Josh Anderson: Leads charge with three points

Anderson scored twice, added an assist and went plus-3 in Saturday's 5-4 win over the Penguins.

Anderson had gone six games without a point after scoring twice versus the Capitals on Oct. 14. The 32-year-old winger has maintained a middle-six role throughout the year even as his offense has cooled off following a strong start. He's at six goals, three assists, 30 shots on net, 29 hits, 14 PIM and a plus-6 rating across 14 appearances this season.

  • Maple Leafs' Teddy Blueger: Second two-point game in last five

Blueger scored a goal and added an assist Saturday in a 4-2 win over the Canucks.

Blueger played three seasons (185 games) in Vancouver before signing last summer with Toronto. He's always one of the hardest workers on the ice, and he has four points (two goals, two assists) in his last five games. Unfortunately, those are the only points he has in 16 games overall. Blueger has 23 hits and 18 shots in a bottom-six role.

  • Jacob Fowler G | MON

Canadiens' Jacob Fowler: Allows four goals in win

Fowler stopped 25 of 29 shots in Saturday's 5-4 win over the Penguins.

Fowler extended his winning streak to seven games, but it wasn't a great performance for the young goalie. The four goals allowed were a season high, though that shouldn't endanger his status as the No. 1 goalie in Montreal. He's 7-1-0 with a 1.84 GAA and a .932 save percentage across eight starts this season, and he's already logged two shutouts. The Canadiens' next game is Tuesday at home versus the slumping Jets, which would be an elite matchup if Fowler gets the start.

  • Zack MacEwen RW | TOR

Maple Leafs' Zack MacEwen: Nets rare game winner

MacEwen scored a goal in Saturday's 4-2 win over Vancouver.

It was sweet revenge against the team that drafted (2017) and then waived (2021) him -- the goal stood as the winner. It was his first game winner since 2023-24 when he was with Ottawa. MacEwen has scored all four of his points (two goals, two assists) in the Leafs' last five contests. He has fired 10 shots and leveled nine hits while averaging just 8:54 over that span. MacEwen is a great story right now, and a key part of a very steady fourth line in Toronto.

  • Maple Leafs' Auston Matthews: Extends season-opening point streak

Matthews scored a goal in a 4-2 win over Vancouver on Saturday.

The snipe extended Matthews' season-opening road point streak to eight games and 15 points (seven goals, eight assists). The superstar is tied for third on NHL scoring with with 24 points, including 11 goals, which also puts him in a tie for the sniping lead.

  • Maple Leafs' William Nylander: Sizzling start continues with two points

Nylander had a goal and an assist Saturday in a 4-2 victory over the Canucks.

The goal -- his 10th of the season -- came off a breakaway at 1:23 of the first period to open the scoring. Nylander's sizzling start to the season has continued. He has 21 points (10 snipes, 11 helpers) on 44 shots in 16 contests. Nylander sits three points behind Auston Matthews for the team lead.

  • Cooper Simpson LW | BOS

Bruins' Cooper Simpson: Buries two goals in loss

Simpson scored twice in the University of North Dakota's 5-3 loss to Michigan State University on Saturday.

Simpson is in his first year in college at age 19. He dominated in the USHL last year with 74 points over 61 regular-season contests for Youngstown. Simpson has started slow in the NCAA -- these were his first two goals to go with one assist over five appearances. Injuries have been an issue early in his development, so expect Simpson to spend multiple years at North Dakota to build up his game.

  • Lucas Raymond LW | DET

Red Wings' Lucas Raymond: Another multi-point effort Saturday

Raymond scored an even-strength goal and added a power-play assist in Saturday's 5-4 loss to the Blues.

The star winger scored on an impressive solo effort in the second period, collecting the puck in the corner on the forecheck, circling to the high slot and beating Joel Hofer blocker side to give Detroit a 3-1 lead. Raymond has four multi-point performances in the last six games, a sizzling stretch in which he's racked up five goals and 10 points with 19 shots on net, five hits and a plus-2 rating. Six of his points during that heater -- three goals and three assists -- have come on the power play.

  • John Gibson G | DET

Red Wings' John Gibson: Fades late in Saturday's loss

Gibson made just 10 saves in Saturday's 5-4 loss to the Blues.

The Detroit defense did a good job of keeping pucks from getting through to Gibson -- William Wallinder blocked six shots all on his own -- which made it all the more painful when the veteran netminder couldn't keep hold of a 4-2 lead in the third period. Through his first 10 outings this season, Gibson has gone 4-5-1 with a 3.37 GAA and .860 save percentage, numbers which could make it difficult for him to hang onto the top job in the Wings crease if Daniil Tarasov (1.40 GAA, .940 save percentage in four appearances) stays healthy and keeps playing well.

  • Blues' Aleksanteri Kaskimaki: First NHL goal a game-winner

Kaskimaki scored the game-winning goal in Saturday's 5-4 victory over Detroit.

In his 11th career NHL game, Kaskimaki found the back of the net for the first time, deflecting home a shot by Alexey Toropchenko to break a 4-4 tie in the third period. Kaskimaki has been operating in a bottom-six role since being called up from AHL Springfield a couple weeks ago, contributing two points in six games with seven shots on net, five hits and a plus-1 rating.
