Hayes was reassigned to AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Wednesday.
Hayes was called up by the Penguins on Saturday and appeared in the team's 3-2 victory over the Predators, generating five shots on goal and three hits in 12:43 of ice time. However, he'll head back to the minors, where he should see more consistent opportunities to contribute.
