  • Alec Pierce WR | IND

Colts' Alec Pierce: Three receptions in season finale

Pierce had three receptions for 42 yards on four targets in Sunday's loss to Houston.

Pierce finished his rookie season with 41 receptions on 78 targets for 593 yards and two touchdowns. After failing to catch either of his two targets in his first game, he clicked with Matt Ryan and had 24 receptions for 373 yards and a touchdown over his next six games. He then had just 17 receptions for 220 yards and a touchdown in his last nine games as QB became a revolving door for the Colts. Pierce showed promise but could never clearly move into the No. 2 WR role and had just three red-zone targets despite his 6-3 height. Of course, it's hard to judge Pierce given Indy's troubles at quarterback and poor offensive line play. It's not clear if Pierce will be considered a cornerstone of the Indy receiving corps as the team revamps its offense for 2023.

  • Seahawks' Dee Eskridge: Getting closer to return

Eskridge (hand) was designated to return from IR on Tuesday, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.

Eskridge could return to the field Saturday against the 49ers, but he'll need to be added to the 53-man roster first. However, he was able to return to the practice field Tuesday, which will be the first step before he can return to action.

  • Jalen Camp WR | CLE

Texans' Jalen Camp: Earns new deal

Camp (oblique) signed a reserve/future contract with the Texans on Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

Camp closed the season on the team's practice squad injured list. The 2021 sixth-round selection of the Jaguars played two games for Houston this season, catching his only target for seven yards. He'll work to earn a larger role with the team next year.

  • Alex Bachman WR | LV

    Texans' Alex Bachman: Signs contract

Bachman signed a reserve/future contract with the Texans on Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

Bachman signed with the Texans' practice squad Nov. 15, but he never made his way to the active roster before the season came to a close. The 26-year-old previously spent time with the Giants in 2020 and 2021, appearing in a total of four contests, but he never saw a target. He'll work to earn a role in Houston next season.

  • Ty Fryfogle WR | KC

Chiefs' Ty Fryfogle: Inks futures deal

The Chiefs signed Fryfogle to a reserve/future contract Monday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.

Fryfogle, an undrafted rookie wideout, was waived/injured by the Cowboys in late August due to a hamstring injury and has remained a free agent since. It appears the Indiana product has moved past the issue, and he'll now have a chance to compete for a roster spot in Kansas City throughout the 2023 offseason.

  • Darius Slayton WR | NYG

Giants' Darius Slayton: Plays just three snaps in finale

Slayton was on the field for just three snaps and wasn't targeted in Sunday's 22-16 loss to the Eagles.

Because the Giants were locked into the No. 6 seed in the NFC playoffs heading into Sunday regardless of how other games around the league played out, head coach Brian Daboll elected to rest several key players. Slayton appeared to be among that group, as the Giants didn't reveal that an injury was behind his minimal playing time. Expect Slayton to reclaim a full-time starting role in the Giants' wild-card matchup with the Vikings this Sunday.

  • Kyric McGowan WR | MIA

Commanders' Kyric McGowan: Inks futures deal

The Commanders signed McGowan to a reserve/future contract Monday.

McGowan signed with the Commanders as an undrafted free agent in May and joined the team's practice squad after failing to land a spot on the initial 53-man roster. He saw two elevations during his rookie campaign, but he didn't see a target across 10 offensive snaps. With his new contract, he'll have a chance to compete for a roster spot throughout offseason work.

  • Alex Erickson WR | HOU

Commanders' Alex Erickson: Inks futures contract

The Commanders signed Erickson to a reserve/future contract Monday.

The undrafted product out of Wisconsin made two appearances for the Commanders this season, operating exclusively on special teams. The veteran wideout caught 43 passes for 529 yards across 16 appearances with Cincinnati in 2019, but he's mostly known for his abilities as a return man. With his new contract, he'll have a chance to compete for a roster spot heading into next year's training camp.

  • Michael Bandy WR | DEN

    Chargers' Michael Bandy: Quiet season

Bandy caught 10 of his 21 targets for 89 yards during the 2022-23 season.

Bandy began the season on the practice squad but was later signed to the active roster due to various Chargers receivers suffering injuries. The 2021 undrafted free agent had his best game Week 9 against the Falcons, recording half of his total receptions on the season, as both Keenan Allen and Mike Williams were out with injuries. However, Bandy saw his role drastically decrease once both receivers returned to action.

  • DeAndre Carter WR | CLE

Chargers' DeAndre Carter: Solid in finale

Carter caught three of his five targets for 43 yards and also lost a fumble during the 31-28 loss to the Broncos on Sunday.

Carter had his most productive performance since Week 13, filling in for Mike Williams, who left the game early with a back injury. The 29-year-old finished second on the team in receiving yards behind Keenan Allen but also had a costly fumble in the third quarter.
