  • 49ers' Ricky Pearsall: Logs full practice Wednesday

Pearsall (chest) was a full practice participant Wednesday, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports.

After the 49ers designated him to return from the reserve/non-football injury list Monday, Pearsall managed to handle every rep in his first official practice since he sustained gunshot wound during an attempted robbery Aug. 31. Currently, the team has a 21-day window in which to evaluate the rookie first-rounder and add him back to the active roster. With Deebo Samuel (wrist) a limited participant and Jauan Jennings (hip) not practicing Wednesday, there may be reason for San Francisco to need reinforcements at wide receiver Sunday against the Chiefs.

  • Xavier Smith WR | LAR

Rams' Xavier Smith: Promoted to active roster

The Rams signed Smith off the practice squad to the active roster Wednesday.

The Rams signed Smith to the active roster as they had elevated him from the practice squad three times this season, which is the most a team is allowed to do. Smith has served primarily on special teams on punt returns, but he did play eight offensive snaps in Week 5 against the Packers and caught both of his targets for six yards.

  • Seahawks' Laviska Shenault: Dealing with back issue

Shenault (back) didn't practice Wednesday, Curtis Crabtree of Fox 13 Seattle reports.

Shenault appears to be dealing with a back injury following the Seahawks' Week 6 loss to the 49ers, despite playing 21 total snaps (seven offensive and 14 on special teams) and returning a kickoff 97 yards for a touchdown. His participation Thursday and Friday will be the best indication of whether he can play through the issue in Week 7, when the Seahawks travel to Atlanta.

  • Dan Chisena WR | CAR

Dan Chisena: Joins Panthers' practice squad

Chisena signed with the Panthers' practice squad Wednesday, Anthony Rizzuti of USA Today reports.

Chisena was cut from the Cardinals' practice squad on Oct. 11, and it didn't take him long to find a new home in Carolina. The Penn State product appeared in four games with the Cardinals this season, playing almost strictly on special teams (53 of 54 total snaps). Chisena could be added to Carolina's active roster if team's wide receiver room faces injuries later this season.

  • Saints' Cedrick Wilson: Good to go vs. Denver

Wilson (ankle) was a full participant during Wednesday's walkthrough session and doesn't have an injury designation for Thursday's game against the Broncos.

Wilson may still be at less than 100 percent, but he's played through the injury for most of the regular season and will do so again Thursday. Top wideouts Chris Olave (concussion) and Rashid Shaheed (knee) have both been ruled out, so Wilson could be in store for a regular spot in three-wideout sets alongside Mason Tipton and Bub Means.

  • Malik Knowles: Joins Packers' practice squad

The Packers signed Knowles (undisclosed) to their practice squad Wednesday.

The Kansas State product was waived by the Vikings in early September with an injury settlement, but signing with the Packers' practice squad suggests he's moved past the issue. Knowles has yet to appear in an NFL game, but he posted a 48-725-2 receiving line in his final collegiate season in 2022.

  • Chargers' Quentin Johnston: Not practicing

Johnston (ankle) isn't practicing Wednesday, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.

Johnston returned to Sunday's 23-16 win over the Broncos after exiting earlier in the contest with the ankle injury, playing 27 percent of snaps in the first half and 63 percent in the second half. He'll now have an extra day to prepare for the next game with the Chargers heading to Arizona for a Monday night game. The Chargers' first official Week 7 practice report will be released Thursday.

  • Packers' Christian Watson: Remains limited by ankle injury

Watson (ankle) was a limited participant at Wednesday's practice.

Watson looked like his normal dynamic self this past Sunday against the Cardinals, reeling off 68 yards and one touchdown on his three catches (four targets). The output mostly was fueled by a 44-yard touchdown connection with quarterback Jordan Love, but it still was an encouraging performance for Watson after missing just one game due to a sprained left ankle. Fellow receivers Jayden Reed (ankle) and Dontayvion Wicks (shoulder) also had caps on their practice reps Wednesday, so the situation will be one to monitor to get a sense of the trio's odds to suit up Sunday versus the Texans.

  • Mack Hollins WR | NE

Bills' Mack Hollins: Limited to begin Week 7 prep

Hollins (shoulder) was listed as a limited participant in Wednesday's walk-through practice.

Hollins played through the same injury Monday against the Jets, catching one of two targets for an eight-yard touchdown in a 23-20 win. Healthy or not, Hollins is likely looking at a reduction in playing time after the Bills traded for wideout Amari Cooper on Tuesday.

  • Gabe Davis WR | BUF

Jaguars' Gabe Davis: Limited in practice

Davis (knee) was a limited practice participant Wednesday.

Davis dealt with the same injury last week and ended up scoring his first two touchdowns of the season, although he didn't necessarily play well from a real-life standpoint, as he dropped two other passes in the end zone. His ability to continue practicing -- even on a limited basis -- suggests he's on track to play Sunday against the Patriots.
