The Texans plan to sign Chubb on Monday pending a successful physical, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Chubb suffered a season-ending foot fracture in mid-December, and he became a free agent after his contract with the Browns officially expired in March. The 29-year-old did not undergo surgery this offseason, so Monday's physical will provide some important clarity as the Texans look to bolster their rushing game. Chubb also missed the first six games last season while recovering from a torn left ACL suffered in September 2023. The four-time Pro Bowler's production plummeted last season with the least efficient campaign of his career, logging 102 carries for 332 yards and three touchdowns. He's now set to join a running back room headlined by another notable veteran in Joe Mixon, who tallied 245 carries for 1,016 yards and 11 touchdowns during his first season in Houston in 2024. The Texans have last year's No. 2 running back Dameon Pierce along with rookie fourth-rounder Woody Marks on the roster as well. Given the wear and tear Chubb has sustained over the last couple of year and pending a successful physical, he'll likely vie with Pierce for a role as the primary backup behind Mixon this coming season.

Cook and the Bills "aren't close" to an agreement on an extension, and it's unclear if the running back will hold out of mandatory minicamp, which begins Tuesday, Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network reports.

Wolfe describes extension negotiations between the two sides as "a stalemate" and suggests that Cook could hold out of minicamp, which would likely result in a fine. The star running back already missed OTAs in both April and May, though those workouts were voluntary as opposed to the upcoming mandatory camp. Cook is entering the final year of his rookie contract and is seeking an extension after racking up a career-high 16 rushing touchdowns and adding two receiving TDs across 16 regular-season games last year.

Robinson was claimed off waivers by the Eagles on Friday, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.

Robinson didn't take long to latch on with a new team after being waived by the Jaguars on Thursday. The 2024 fifth-round draft pick will compete for a spot on the Eagles' roster in camp, with Robinson's best chance of sticking around coming via his ability on special teams, where he can contribute as a kick returner and gunner.

Mullings (abdomen) has been participating in OTAs.

Mullings was limited at rookie minicamp earlier in May while recovering from core muscle surgery, but the rookie sixth-round pick appears to have shed those limitations at OTAs. He'll be competing in camp against Julius Chestnut and Tyrion Davis-Price for a depth role in a Titans backfield led by Tony Pollard and Tyjae Spears.

Guerendo (knee/ankle) was an active participant at voluntary OTAs, per the 49ers' official site.

Guerendo sustained MCL and ankle sprains in his left leg during San Francisco's regular-season finale, but the 2024 fourth-round pick appears back to full health ahead of mandatory minicamp, which will take place June 10-11. Christian McCaffrey also looks fully healthy after having been limited to four appearances in 2024, which leaves Guerendo competing for No. 2 reps entering Year 2 of his career. The 49ers saw fit to trade Jordan Mason to Minnesota this offseason and let Elijah Mitchell link up with the Chiefs in free agency, though the team did re-sign Patrick Taylor and select Jordan James in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft. Guerendo's combo of athleticism and explosiveness makes him a high-upside backup to McCaffrey, but injuries have been a consistent roadblock for him dating back to college.

Wheeler (knee) is participating in OTAs.

Wheeler signed with the Bears in May of 2024 as an undrafted free agent before landing on IR with a knee injury in late August. Now that he's back on the field, Howard will have a chance to compete for a depth role in a Chicago backfield that's currently led by D'Andre Swift and Roschon Johnson.

Kamara (groin) hasn't been participating in the Saints' voluntary workouts this offseason, Matthew Paras of the New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.

Kamara missed the last three games of the 2024 regular season with a groin injury, but he's presumably past the issue, a notion that will be confirmed when he next takes the field with his teammates, which may arrive when the Saints hold their mandatory minicamp June 10-12. When he's available, Kamara remains entrenched as the team's No. 1 back, but Paras suggests that the backfield pecking order behind that isn't settled. In the running for slotting behind Kamara are Kendre Miller, Devin Neal and Clyde Edwards-Helaire, while Velus Jones, Xazavian Valladay and Marcus Yarns also are in the depth mix for now.

Jacksonville waived Robinson on Thursday, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.

Robinson played just five offensive snaps during his rookie season after being selected in the fifth round of the 2024 NFL Draft, and now he's getting cut during the offseason. He'll have to look for his next opportunity to make an impression elsewhere. The battle for the fourth running back slot on the Jaguars' depth chart is now likely between 2025 seventh-rounder LeQuint Allen and UDFA Ja'Quinden Jackson.

The Broncos are hosting Dobbins for a two-day visit Wednesday and Thursday, Zac Stevens of TheDNVR.com reports.

Denver's coaching staff seems to be expressing serious interest in Dobbins, who received an unrestricted free-agent tender from the Chargers in April after racking up a career-best 194 carries for 905 yards (4.6 YPC) and nine scores across 13 regular-season games in 2024. The Broncos selected RJ Harvey in the second round of April's draft, providing the team with a potential starter boasting 4.4 speed, though at 5-foot-8, 205 pounds, the team could have some concerns about the UCF product's ability to hold up to workhorse volume at the NFL level. Dobbins has durability concerns of his own due to his injury history, but Broncos coach Sean Payton has deployed a running back tandem to great success in the past, and Dobbins' rushing style could make him a fitting complement to Harvey.

Swift said Tuesday at mandatory minicamp that he's "being very critical about how I played last year" and is "excited about this year" under new head coach Ben Johnson, Patrick Finley of the Chicago Sun Times reports.

The first season of Swift's three-year, $24 million deal with the Bears disappointed compared to expectations, as he finished with just 959 rushing yards and six touchdowns despite playing all 17 regular-season games and handling a career-high 253 carries. He averaged just 3.8 YPC in 2024 after having combined for 4.6 YPC across the first four years of his NFL career. As such, it was somewhat surprising to see Chicago fail to add notable backfield competition in free agency or the 2025 NFL Draft. Rookie seventh-round pick Kyle Monangai joins Roschon Johnson as a depth option, but Swift seems destined to reprise a starting role. With the benefit of a much-improved O-line and Johnson's promising offensive scheme, Swift will be in tremendous position to improve upon his 2024 stats if he sees a similar amount of opportunities. Johnson, who was Swift's offensive coordinator during his final season in Detroit in 2022, called the running back a "fierce competitor" and praised his willingness to "find a way to put his shoulder down and move the pile."
