Packers' Aaron Jones: Still splitting reps with Montgomery

Jones and Ty Montgomery will continue to work as part of a committee at running back, with the rookie handling most of the early down work while Montgomery earns most of the third-down snaps, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.

While there wasn't much for the Packers to be pleased about in Monday's 30-17 loss to the Lions, head coach Mike McCarthy said he was happy about the division of work between Jones and Montgomery. Game flow shifted the playing time in Montgomery's favor, limiting Jones to his lowest snap share (34 percent) and carry total (five) since he first earned a role in the offense. The likelihood of a more competitive contest Week 10 against the Bears should swing things back in Jones' favor, at least to some degree. Jones will likely remain the weekly favorite to lead the Packers in carries, but his involvement as a receiver should be limited unless Montgomery misses time due to injury. This could be a frustrating timeshare, particularly given the lack of total touchdowns up for grabs with Brett Hundley directing the offense.

Colts' Matt Jones: Expected to practice Wednesday

The Colts expect to have Jones available for practice in some capacity Wednesday, George Bremer of The Anderson Herald Bulletin reports.

Jones failed to practice Thursday and Friday of last week before ultimately being ruled out in advance of Sunday's win over the Texans. The fact that the running back is set to begin Week 10 preparations on the practice field portends well for his status for the Colts' contest against the Steelers, but don't expect Jones to have much of a role in the team's game plan.

  • Cowboys' Ezekiel Elliott: Won't practice Thursday

Elliott is set to practice Wednesday, but will likely miss Thursday's session to head to New York and attend oral arguments in the hearing for his request of an injunction to overturn his six-game suspension, David Moore of The Dallas Morning News reports.

That same day, the Second Circuit Court of Appeals is expected to render a verdict on the matter, which would either put Elliott's suspension in motion beginning with Sunday's game against the Falcons or leave him in the clear to play in the contest. Through all the legal back and forth that has taken place since Elliott was first handed the suspension in August, the 22-year-old has yet to miss any contests and has remained an elite fantasy option, ranking second in the league in rushing yardage (783) and tied for first in touchdowns (seven). Alfred Morris would take over as the starter in Week 10 if Elliott's suspension is reinstated, with Rod Smith and Darren McFadden likely seeing increased snaps in complementary roles.

  • Corey Grant RB | JAC

Jaguars' Corey Grant: Rushes for 18 yards

Grant carried the ball four times for 18 yards in Sunday's 23-7 win over the Bengals.

Grant has 11 touches for 54 total yards in the last two games with Leonard Fournette out, first with an ankle injury and then for disciplinary matters. The total matches Grant's total from the first six games of the season. Grant managed just six offensive snaps on Sunday, with Fournette is expected back in the lineup against the Chargers expect even those limited reps to be diminished.

  • Cardinals' Kerwynn Williams: Carries the ball twice

Williams rushed for six yards on two attempts in Sunday's 20-10 win over the 49ers.

Williams was third among Arizona's four backs with just four offensive snaps on Sunday, well behind Adrian Peterson's 59 and Andre Ellington's 14. Williams has just seven touches in the three weeks since Peterson joined the squad and has accounted for just 47 total yards. He's more of a special-teams player than offensive weapon at this point.

  • Bronson Hill RB | GB

Bronson Hill: Cast off Minnesota practice squad

The Vikings released Hill from their practice squad Tuesday.

Guard Willie Beavers was signed to the practice squad to take Hill's spot. The running back has made just three appearances in the NFL -- all with the Jaguars -- since going undrafted out of Eastern Michigan in 2015.

  • Packers' Jamaal Williams: Scores first career touchdown

Williams had one carry for one yard and a touchdown and two receptions for 31 yards in Monday's loss to the Lions.

Williams' touchdown was the first of his career, but all his touches Monday came on what was essentially a meaningless drive at the end of the game, and the score occurred on an untimed down at the end of the contest that served only to shrink the final margin. Ty Montgomery led all Packers running backs with 24 snaps Monday and Aaron Jones was on the field for 20, according to Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com, so consider Williams -- who totaled just nine snaps -- still third in line at his position in Green Bay.

  • Samaje Perine RB | CIN

Redskins' Samaje Perine: Two carries Sunday

Perine recorded two carries for nine yards in Sunday's win over the Seahawks.

Although it wasn't much, Perine worked his way into the offensive gameplan Sunday after failing to record a rep with the unit the previous two weeks. However, Washington seems content continuing with the two-headed attack of Chris Thompson and Rob Kelley in the backfield, which will leave the rookie with little fantasy value. For now, Perine's biggest contributions will likely come on special teams.

  • Lions' Dwayne Washington: Struggles at goal line

Washington carried five times for one yard during Monday's 20-17 victory over the Packers.

Washington was ineffective as a goal-line battering ram Monday. Since vulturing touchdowns is seemingly his only way of attaining fantasy relevance, Washington remains firmly out of lineup consideration until his red-zone acumen picks up. The young second-year tailback could continue to get more opportunities to prove himself going forward, though, particularly after starter Ameer Abdullah fumbled on the one-yard line.

  • Aaron Jones RB | MIN

Packers' Aaron Jones: Just five carries in loss

Jones rushed five times for 12 yards in Monday night's 30-17 loss to the Lions.

Jones also caught two of his five targets for a loss of one yard. The rookie was expected to be handed a starter's share of carries, yet Ty Montgomery tied him with five rushes Monday. Considering Montgomery gained 33 yards on his totes, it'll be interesting to see how Green Bay's carries are distributed in Week 10 against the Bears. With quarterback Brett Hundley struggling to stretch the field, however, both tailbacks could be vital running the ball and catching check-down passes out of the backfield.
