  • Miles Sanders RB | DAL

Eagles' Miles Sanders: Healthy for Week 2

Sanders said Friday that he's 100 percent healthy and hopeful to handle a full workload, Bo Wulf of The Athletic reports.

Playing time is up to the coaching staff, but it sounds like Sanders considers himself ready for a sizable role. After sitting out Week 1 with a hamstring injury, he's expected to get the start Sunday afternoon against the Rams. It remains to be seen how much Boston Scott and Corey Clement will mix in off the bench.

  • Jets' La'Mical Perine: Could debut Sunday

Perine (ankle) will practice Friday, and head coach Adam Gase is hoping he will play Sunday against the 49ers, Zach Braziller of the New York Post reports.

Perine did not take the field last week nor at the Jets' first practice session this week, but he got some work in Thursday and will do the same Friday, so he will have a chance to suit up for the first time as a professional Week 2.

  • Joe Mixon RB | HOU

Bengals' Joe Mixon: Finally quieted by Browns

Mixon rushed 16 times for 46 yards and brought in all four targets for 40 yards in the Bengals' 35-30 loss to the Browns on Thursday.

Mixon was an absolute terror against Cleveland in his two meetings with Browns last season, exceeding a combined 300 rushing yards in that pair of contests. The defense was clearly focused on not allowing the fourth-year back to have his way yet again, shutting Mixon down for 2.9 yards per rush and a long gain of just nine yards. The Oklahoma product was encouragingly more involved in the passing game than during the team's Week 1 loss to the Chargers, and he's likely to continue building rapport with rookie quarterback Joe Burrow in that regard as the season unfolds. Mixon will now turn his attention to a Week 3 road matchup against the Eagles' elite run defense on Sunday, Sept. 27.

  • Nick Chubb RB | HOU

Browns' Nick Chubb: Scores twice in Week 2 win

Chubb rushed 22 times for 124 yards and two touchdowns and brought in his only target for nine yards in the Browns' 35-30 win over the Bengals on Thursday.

Chubb and backfield mate Kareem Hunt put on a clinic against the porous Bengals front seven, with the two combining for an average of 6.6 yards per rush on 32 carries. For his part, Chubb saw a nice bump in workload from a Game 1 tally of 10 carries, comfortably outpacing Hunt in that department by 12 rushing touches overall after having trailed his teammate by three against Baltimore four days earlier. The third-year pro's 11-yard trip to the end zone in the first quarter opened the scoring on the night for Cleveland, and Chubb later added a one-yard touchdown in the latter stages of the third quarter to extend the Browns' lead to double digits. The fact the Week 2 rushing workload tilted much heavier in Chubb's direction had to elicit a sigh of relief from fantasy mangers for the time being, and the Georgia product will look to put together a successful encore at the expense of the Washington Football Team in a Week 3 home tilt on Sunday, Sept. 27.

  • Saints' Dwayne Washington: Comes off COVID list

The Saints activated Washington (illness) from the reserve/COVID-19 list Thursday, Amie Just of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.

After an 18-day stay on the list, Washington rejoined his teammates on the practice field and avoided Thursday's injury report entirely. It'll be interesting to see if he's active in his first potential game action of the season Sunday at Las Vegas, especially with Alvin Kamara, Latavius Murray and Ty Montgomery in front of him on the depth chart.

  • Jets' La'Mical Perine: Will handle some team drills

Coach Adam Gase said Thursday that Perine (ankle) will take part in individual work and some team drills Thursday, Connor Hughes of The Athletic reports.

Perine's low-ankle sprain has completely sidelined him since late training camp, but it looks as though he could upgrade to being listed as a 'limited' participant on Thursday's practice report. The rookie fourth-round pick still remains uncertain for Sunday's game against the 49ers.

  • James Conner RB | ARI

Steelers' James Conner: Puts in full practice

Conner (ankle) was a full participant in Thursday's practice, Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports.

Though Conner sustained what was believed to be a mild ankle sprain in Monday's win over the Giants, his ability to practice fully three days later still comes as something of a surprise. If Conner is able to repeat that activity level in the Steelers' final practice of the week Friday, he should be in good shape to play in Sunday's game against the Broncos. Although Conner remains the lead option in the Pittsburgh backfield when healthy and available, Ed Bouchette of The Athletic speculates that backup Benny Snell may have earned himself a larger portion of the snaps/touches after impressing in relief of the injured Conner in Week 1, finishing with 113 yards on 19 carries.

  • Titans' Darrynton Evans: Regresses to limited participation

Evans (hamstring) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice, Terry McCormick of TitanInsider.com reports.

The limited workout amounts to a downgrade in activity for Evans, who was listed as a full participant in the Titans' first session of the week Wednesday. At this point, it's unclear if Evans' limitations were simply precautionary, or indicative of a setback suffered during the session. The Titans will decide whether or not Evans will carry a designation into the Week 2 game against the Jaguars based on what he's able to do in Friday's practice. If cleared to play this weekend, Evans would replace Jeremy McNichols as the No. 2 option behind top back Derrick Henry. According to Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site, coach Mike Vrabel said he expects Evans to have a role in the game plan if active Sunday, with most of the rookie's reps likely to come on passing downs.

  • Benny Snell RB | DET

Steelers' Benny Snell: Could cut into Conner's snaps

Snell could be in store for more use out of the Pittsburgh backfield even after James Conner fully recovers from his left ankle sprain, Ed Bouchette of The Athletic reports.

After Conner went down with the injury in the first half of Monday's win over the Giants, Snell stepped in as the Steelers' top back and turned in an eye-opening performance. He finished with 113 yards on 19 carries, though he wasn't a factor in the passing game with one target across 29 offensive snaps. The lack of involvement as a pass catcher has been the norm for Snell since his college days, so he would more realistically represent a threat to poach carries from Conner when the latter is back to full strength. Conner sat out Wednesday's practice with the injury and is far from certain to gain clearance for this weekend's matchup with Denver, potentially leaving Snell with a clear path to the majority of the backfield carries for at least one game.

  • Boston Scott RB | PIT

Eagles' Boston Scott: Back in No. 2 role

Scott is set to revert to his backup role with Miles Sanders (hamstring) having returned to practice as a full participant, Tim McManus of ESPN.com reports.

Scott saw 11 total touches against Washington on Sunday with Sanders sidelined, but he's now set to revert to his usual diminished role. The 25-year-old could still see work as a change-of-pace option against the Rams in Week 2, but with Corey Clement also handling occasional reps behind Sanders, he may not end up with enough opportunities to have a safe fantasy floor.
