Kenneth Walker III RB | KC
Seahawks' Kenneth Walker: Set for some work Thursday
Coach Pete Carroll said Walker (hernia) will get some reps on the practice field Thursday, Curtis Crabtree of Sports Radio 950 KJR Seattle reports.
Walker missed the Seahawks' final two preseason games due to a hernia procedure that he underwent in mid-August. As of Monday, Carroll was uncertain whether Walker would be ready for a season-opening matchup with the Broncos, but the rookie second-round pick looked good while running Wednesday and took part in the team's walkthrough Thursday. It's unclear if Walker will be contained to work on the side or be able to mix into individual and/or team drills, but his activity level will become known once Seattle posts its first Week 1 injury report.

Chase Edmonds RB | WAS
Dolphins' Chase Edmonds: Practices fully Thursday
Edmonds (groin) practiced fully Thursday, Daniel Oyefusi of the Miami Herald reports.
After being limited Wednesday, Edmonds upgraded to full participation Thursday, as did fellow RB Myles Gaskin (neck). Looking ahead to Sunday's regular-season opener against the Patriots, Edmonds is in line to see his share of backfield touches, but it remains to be seen how much of a committee approach Miami elects to employ early on this season, with Raheem Mostert and Gaskin, to a lesser degree, candidates to log carries, and Salvon Ahmed (heel) on hand in reserve. Of that group, however, Edmonds profiles as the Week 1 upside play in fantasy.

Myles Gaskin RB | SEA
Dolphins' Myles Gaskin: Practices in full
Gaskin (neck) was a full participant in practice Thursday. Daniel Oyefusi of the Miami Herald reports.
Gaskin's injury had left him limited in practice earlier in the week, but he should be ready to go Sunday against the Patriots. The fourth-year pro will likely be looking at a limited role, as the Dolphins overhauled their backfield with the additions of Chase Edmonds and Raheem Mostert, pushing Gaskin to No. 3 on team's running back positional depth chart.

Gus Edwards RB | LAC
Ravens' Gus Edwards: Progressing with injury recovery
Edwards (knee), who is on the reserve/PUP list and in line to miss at least the first four games of the season, said Wednesday that he's progressing well at this stage, Kevin Eck of the Ravens' official site reports. "For everybody wondering about my recovery I'm doing great and I'm very close," said Edwards, who is recovering from an ACL tear that he suffered last September.
The earliest Edwards will be eligible to play is Week 5, when the Ravens host the Bengals. If he's available at that time, what sort of workload he may see hinges on the availability of the team's other backfield options at that point in the season. As Week 1 approaches, J.K. Dobbins' (knee) status for Sunday's game against the Jets is uncertain, with Mike Davis, Kenyan Drake and Justice Hill on hand to handle Baltimore's backfield duties if Dobbins is held out.

Spencer Brown RB | ATL
Spencer Brown: Let go from IR
Brown (ankle) was waived with an injury settlement from the Panthers' injured reserve Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of ProFootballNetwork.com reports.
Brown reverted to Carolina's IR after being let go with an injury designation during the team's final roster cuts Aug. 31. The second-year running back will now be free to negotiate a contract elsewhere once he gets healthy this regular season.

Trestan Ebner RB | CHI
Bears' Trestan Ebner: Avoids injury report
Ebner (ankle) was not listed on the Bears' injury report Wednesday.
Ebner missed Chicago's preseason finale Aug. 27 after picking up an ankle injury during the team's previous exhibition nine days earlier. Now, the rookie sixth-round pick should be ready to step into a reserve role behind David Montgomery and Khalil Herbert leading into the Bears' season-opener against San Francisco on Sunday.
-
Elijah Mitchell RB | PHI
49ers' Elijah Mitchell: Sidesteps injury report
Mitchell (hamstring) wasn't listed on the 49ers' injury report Wednesday, Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
The 49ers kept Mitchell on the sideline during the preseason due to a hamstring concern, but he now has more than a week of on-field work behind him and was without limitations in the first official practice ahead of the season opener. With his health not in question, the second-year back can assume leadership of the team's backfield, which equated to 94.7 yards from scrimmage per game and seven total touchdowns in 14 appearances (including playoffs) a season ago.
-
Isaiah Spiller RB | LV
Chargers' Isaiah Spiller: Practicing fully
Spiller (ankle) was a full participant in practice Wednesday.
The rookie fourth-round pick is thus slated to be available for the Chargers' season opener against the Raiders, but as long as undisputed top back Austin Ekeler remains healthy, Spiller might have only a small role on offense. The Chargers also have Joshua Kelley and Sony Michel on hand as candidates to see complementary snaps and touches behind Ekeler.
-
Travis Etienne RB | NO
Jaguars' Travis Etienne: Joined by Robinson in Week 1
Etienne and James Robinson are in line to share work in Sunday's season opener against the Commanders, Michael DiRocco of ESPN.com reports.
While Etienne worked as the Jaguars' top back throughout training camp, Robinson has continued to progress from a torn left Achilles that he suffered Dec. 26. Per DiRocco, Robinson -- who isn't listed on the Jaguars' Week 1 injury report -- isn't expected to be limited Sunday, with his workload dependent on game flow and how he feels as the contest unfolds. Etienne is still expected to see his fair share of work versus Washington, and given the element of speed he brings to the table, the 2021 first-round pick remains the upside play in Jacksonville's backfield.

Salvon Ahmed RB | CHI
Dolphins' Salvon Ahmed: Dealing with heel injury
Ahmed was a limited participant during Wednesday's practice due to a heel injury, Daniel Oyefusi of the Miami Herald reports.
Ahmed, along with Chase Edmonds (groin) and Myles Gaskin (neck), popped up on the injury report Wednesday as limited participants. Assuming Ahmed can upgrade to full participation by Friday, he should put himself in position for Sunday's season opener versus the Patriots. Even so, he could still find himself as a healthy inactive in a crowded Miami backfield.
