  • Colts' Jonathan Taylor: Could be placed on NFI list

The Colts are considering placing Taylor on the non-football injury list due to a back injury that he sustained during the offseason, Mike Chappell of Fox 59 News Indianapolis reports.

Taylor began training camp on the active/PUP list after failing to pass his pre-camp physical. He's been rehabbing from January ankle surgery and is also dealing with a back injury that he sustained while working out on his own during the offseason. In addition to his health concerns, Taylor formally requested a trade after meeting with Colts owner Jim Irsay on Saturday. Irsay has indicated that the Colts don't plan to trade Taylor this year, but it's unclear when the 24-year-old will be able to practice. The Colts wouldn't be obligated to pay Taylor during the 2023 season if he doesn't play due to a non-football injury, and his contract would carry over to the 2024 campaign, which would complicate his contract situation even more as he enters the final year of his rookie contract. Irsay has said that the team isn't currently discussing an extension with the star running back.

  • Seahawks' Zach Charbonnet: Being examined for shoulder injury

Coach Pete Carroll said Sunday that Charbonnet is out indefinitely due to a shoulder injury, Taylor Bisciotti of NFL Network reports.

Charbonnet missed a second consecutive day of practice Sunday, and he's being examined by doctors due to his shoulder issue. Fellow running back Kenneth Walker missed a third consecutive day of practice Sunday due to a groin injury, but Carroll described Walker's concern as minor. It's not yet clear when Charbonnet will be able to return to action, but DeeJay Dallas and Kenny McIntosh should see increased work in training camp while Walker and Charbonnet are sidelined.

  • Seahawks' Kenneth Walker: Dealing with minor groin strain

Coach Pete Carroll said Sunday that Walker has been held out of practice over the past few days due to a minor groin strain, Curtis Crabtree of Fox 13 Seattle reports.

Walker missed a third consecutive day of practice Sunday, but his absence has been deemed precautionary, as Carroll said the team is holding the running back out to prevent a more significant injury. Although Carroll downplayed the severity of Walker's issue Sunday, he indicated that he could be out a while. Carroll also said that Zach Charbonnet (shoulder) will be out indefinitely, so DeeJay Dallas and Kenny McIntosh will likely see increased work at camp in the near future. Walker's availability for Seattle's preseason opener against the Vikings on Aug. 10 remains to be seen.

  • Seahawks' Zach Charbonnet: Misses practice again

Charbonnet didn't practice Sunday due to an undisclosed injury, Brady Henderson of ESPN.com reports.

Charbonnet has missed back-to-back practices after participating in the first two days of training camp, while Kenneth Walker has missed three straight sessions with an undisclosed issue, so fantasy managers should certainly be paying attention to Seattle's backfield before upcoming drafts. Head coach Pete Carroll may provide a clearer update following Sunday's practice, but if both running backs are sidelined, DeeJay Dallas, Kenny McIntosh, Bryant Koback and Wayne Taulapapa would all be candidates for more reps.

  • Seahawks' Kenneth Walker: Still not practicing

Walker didn't practice Sunday due to an undisclosed injury, Brady Henderson of ESPN.com reports.

Walker has missed three straight days after participating in the Seahawks' first practice of training camp. Rookie Zach Charbonnet also has sat out back-to-back sessions with an undisclosed issue, so this is certainly a storyline worth following. Head coach Pete Carroll may provide a more concrete update following Sunday's practice, but if both running backs are forced to miss time, DeeJay Dallas, Kenny McIntosh, Bryant Koback and Wayne Taulapapa would all be candidates for increased work.

  • Dalvin Cook RB | DAL

Dalvin Cook: Visits with Jets, watches practice

Cook (shoulder) had a meeting with the Jets and watched practice from the sidelines Sunday, Dennis Waszak of The State Journal reports.

Cook, who remains a free agent after being released by the Vikings, said before his visit that the chances he signs with New York are "pretty high," but it's unclear if a formal offer was made over the weekend. Both sides have expressed interest, but the Jets may be proceeding cautiously given Cook's recent shoulder surgery. Head coach Robert Saleh called Sunday's visit a "meet and greet," as the running back chatted with several players, including long-time rival Aaron Rodgers, and was showered with positive remarks by the Jets' faithful while he observed practice.

  • Royce Freeman RB | CHI

Rams' Royce Freeman: Finds new home

Freeman signed a contract with the Rams on Sunday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Freeman's addition to the Los Angeles roster comes one day after Sony Michel's retirement. The former struggled the last two seasons in Houston, playing just 11 games between 2021 and 2022 and earning 76 carries for 209 yards (2.8 YPC) and no touchdowns. He'll now work to earn a depth role in the Rams backfield.

  • Breece Hall RB | NYJ

Jets' Breece Hall: Still out a few more weeks

Head coach Robert Saleh said Sunday that Hall (knee) is expected to begin practicing in a couple of weeks, Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic reports.

Hall continues to make strides in his recovery from ACL surgery, and the team remains optimistic he'll be ready for Week 1. However, the 2022 second-round pick isn't close to being activated off the active/PUP list yet. The Jets have shown interest in signing Dalvin Cook this offseason, but if healthy, Hall is still slated to be New York's No. 1 running back in 2023.

  • Falcons' Godwin Igwebuike: Finds new home

Igwebuike signed a contract with the Falcons on Sunday, Adam Schefter of ESPNreports.

Igwebuike appeared in five games with the Seahawks last season and gained four yards on three carries, but he is more notably known for his work on special teams. He generated 308 yards on 11 kickoff returns and 697 yards on 28 punt returns with the Lions in 2021. He'll likely be competing for a similar role with Atlanta during training camp and preseason.

  • Ezekiel Elliott: Visits with Patriots

Elliott was brought in for a visit by the Patriots on Saturday, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.

Elliott has been looking for a new team to sign with since he was released by the Cowboys on March 15. The 28-year-old is coming off the least productive campaign of his seven-year career, tallying career lows in rushing yards (876), yards per carry (3.8), receptions, (17) and receiving yards (92). Yet, the 228-pound back did still prove valuable as a pass blocker and in short-yardage rushing situations while serving as a secondary running back behind Tony Pollard in 2022. Elliott could serve a similar depth role with New England, as the team does not have a proven running back behind burgeoning starter Rhamondre Stevenson. However, Elliott's certainly not guaranteed to land with the team, as the Patriots have also been linked to fellow free-agent running back Dalvin Cook, and the team previously brought in Leonard Fournette and Darrell Henderson for similar visits.
