  • Tyler Allgeier RB | ARI

Falcons' Tyler Allgeier: Regains role in backfield

Allgeier rushed the ball 12 times for 39 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 31-28 loss to the Vikings. He added two catches for negative-nine yards.

Allgeier saw 14 touches compared to 13 for Bijan Robinson. That was dictated in part by a Robinson fumble that pushed him to the bench for two possessions, but the split in workload would have been close regardless. Allgeier was significantly less efficient on the ground, but he ended up with a five-yard touchdown rush late in the fourth quarter that falsely appeared to clinch the win for Atlanta. Though his workload fluctuates from week to week, he maintains a significant role in the offense.

  • Vikings' Alexander Mattison: Produces as pass catcher

Mattison rushed the ball 16 times for 44 yards in Sunday's 31-28 win over Atlanta. He added two catches on two targets for 49 yards and a touchdown.

Mattison led the backfield with 18 touches compared to 10 for Cam Akers (Achilles). He wasn't particularly effective on the ground -- he averaged only 2.8 yards per carry with a long of eight -- but he accounted for Minnesota's longest play from scrimmage on a 47-yard reception. Mattison also found the end zone on a two-yard touchdown catch just before halftime. With Akers feared to have suffered a season-ending torn Achilles' tendon, Mattison could reclaim a more substantial portion of the snaps and touches out of Minnesota's backfield heading into a Week 10 matchup with the Saints.

  • Cardinals' Keaontay Ingram: Stymied as lead back in loss

Ingram rushed nine times for eight yards and wasn't targeted in the Cardinals' 27-0 loss to the Browns on Sunday.

With James Conner (knee) still on IR and Emari Demercado (toe) inactive, Ingram had an opportunity to helm the Cardinals' backfield. However the combination of a tough Browns defense and stacked fronts thanks to the presence of rookie fifth-round pick Clayton Tune under center for Arizona made it a forgettable day for Ingram before game script essentially froze out the ground attack. Conner is reportedly in play for a Week 10 return against the Falcons, but even if he sits out at least one more game, it's possible Demercado returns and relegates Ingram back to a complementary role.

  • Bears' Darrynton Evans: Three touches in losing effort

Evans had a two-yard rush and two catches for 19 yards in the Bears' 24-17 loss to the Saints on Sunday.

After handling 25 touches in Weeks 6 and 7, Evans has seen his workload decrease in each of the last two weeks. He'll likely retain a minor role in the offense until Khalil Herbert (ankle) returns, which could be as soon as Week 10. Once Herbert is back, Evans may be a candidate to be inactive on game days.

  • Bears' Roschon Johnson: Light workload in loss

Johnson rushed twice for six yards and caught a nine-yard pass in the Bears' 24-17 loss to the Saints on Sunday.

Johnson saw the same amount of work as No. 3 running back Darrynton Evans, while D'Onta Foreman dominated the backfield with 20 rushing attempts. Other than the game when Johnson was injured in Week 5, this was the first time he had fewer than six touches in a game. He also hasn't had 50 scrimmage yards in a game since Week 1, making Johnson a low-upside fantasy option.

  • Miles Sanders RB | DAL

Panthers' Miles Sanders: Efficient with limited workload

Sanders carried the ball six times for 39 yards and caught three of five targets for 22 yards in Sunday's 27-13 loss to the Colts.

Despite the fact that Chuba Hubbard saw more than double the touches that Sanders did, he out-gained Sanders by only six scrimmage yards as the former Eagle did well with his limited opportunities. Sanders' yardage didn't come on one big run either, as his longest gain went for only 11 yards. Hubbard has been the more consistent back this season, but if Sanders is fully healthy he could begin to reclaim a bigger role beginning with a Week 10 tilt against the Bears on Thursday night.

  • Chuba Hubbard RB | CAR

Panthers' Chuba Hubbard: Modest numbers against Indy

Hubbard carried the ball 16 times for 58 yards and caught four of six targets for nine yards in Sunday's 27-13 loss to the Colts.

The third-year running back saw 20 touches to Miles Sanders' nine, but Hubbard outgained his backfield partner only 67 scrimmage yards to 61 on a poor day overall for the Carolina offense. Hubbard's been the more consistent back this season, but Sanders' more efficient performance Sunday could cause coach Frank Reich to tip the workload balance back in favor of the former Eagle in Week 10 against the Bears.

  • Seahawks' Kenneth Walker: Stuffed by Ravens

Walker rushed the ball nine times for 16 yards in Sunday's 37-3 loss to the Ravens. He added one catch for one yard.

Walker ran into a number of issues in the loss, most notably a game script that didn't allow Seattle to rely on the run game. Along similar lines, Seattle ran only 47 plays while possessing the ball for just under 20 minutes. Finally, Baltimore is among the best defenses in the league, all of which combined for Walker's worst game of the season and his second consecutive matchup with under 10 rushing attempts.

  • Josh Jacobs RB | GB

Raiders' Josh Jacobs: Star of blowout victory

Jacobs took 26 carries for 98 yards and two touchdowns and was not targeted as a receiver in Sunday's 30-6 win over the Giants.

Jacobs stepped up with his best rushing line of the season in Las Vegas' first game under interim head coach Antonio Pierce on Sunday. The Raiders' new coaching staff committed to the run game en route to a lopsided win, resulting in the most carries for Jacobs through nine games this season. The Alabama product finished the contest without a target for the first time this year, but that likely had much to do with the one-sided nature of Sunday's result. Jacobs will look to carry the momentum from his big performance into next week's matchup against the Jets on Sunday Night Football.

  • Zack Moss RB | CIN

Colts' Zack Moss: Makes little impact in Week 9

Moss carried the ball seven times for 26 yards in Sunday's 27-13 win over the Panthers.

The fourth-year running back produced his lowest yardage total and touch volume of the season, as the Colts didn't need to get much production from their offense on a day when the defense scored two touchdowns on interception returns. Moss's role has dwindled since Jonathan Taylor rejoined the team, but he'd still seen at least 12 touches in every game the duo was together in the Indy backfield prior to Sunday. Moss could resume his usual workload in Week 10 in what figures to be a more competitive matchup against the Patriots.
