  • Buccaneers' Baker Mayfield: Underwhelming effort in loss

Mayfield completed 15 of 25 passes for 146 yards with one touchdown and one interception in the Buccaneers' 25-11 loss to the Eagles on Monday night. He also rushed once for two yards and committed a fumble recovered by Tampa Bay.

Mayfield found life much more difficult than during the first two games of his Buccaneers starting tenure, as he was sacked twice and also committed his first turnover of the campaign. The veteran signal-caller found favorite target Mike Evans for his one touchdown pass of the evening, but no other pass catcher surpassed three receptions or 32 yards. Mayfield averaged a meager 5.8 yards per attempt as well, and he'll likely have an uphill battle trying to bounce back in a Week 4 road matchup against the similarly tough Saints defense.

  • Jalen Hurts QB | PHI

Eagles' Jalen Hurts: Throws TD, runs in another

Hurts completed 23 of 37 passes for 277 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in Monday's 25-11 win over the Buccaneers. He added 10 rushing attempts for 28 yards and a rushing touchdown.

Hurts got almost half of his yardage throwing to A.J. Brown (nine catches for 131 yards), but he also made two key throws to Olamide Zaccheaus on Philadelphia's first touchdown drive, as they connected for a 24-yard gain followed by a 34-yard touchdown three plays later to take a 10-3 lead in the second quarter. After being stuffed on a third-down quarterback sneak from the one-yard line in the third quarter, Hurts tried again on fourth down to produce his third rushing touchdown through three games. He was also picked off twice and has a pedestrian 3:3 TD:INT through the air after posting a 22:6 TD:INT in 2022. Having led Philadelphia to a 3-0 record despite throwing for just 640 yards, Hurts next will set his sights on avenging last season's home loss to the Commanders in a Week 4 rematch.

  • Jake Luton QB | LV

Jake Luton: Back to practice squad

Luton reverted to the Panthers' practice squad Monday.

Luton was elevated to operate as the backup quarterback behind Andy Dalton in Week 3 while regular starter Bryce Young (ankle) was unavailable. If Young can't go again in Week 4 versus the Vikings, Luton will likely be added to the active roster again.

  • Joe Burrow QB | CIN

Bengals' Joe Burrow: Active for Monday's game

Burrow (calf) is listed as active for Monday night's game against the Rams, Marisa Contipelli of the Bengals' official site reports.

Burrow was officially listed as questionable for the contest after being deemed a limited participant in practice Friday and Saturday, but he'll give it a go Monday and is set to work through his right calf strain. It remains to be seen how close the Bengals' franchise signal-caller will be to 100 percent versus Los Angeles, but should Burrow suffer any in-game setbacks, Jake Browning is next in line for the team's QB snaps, with practice-squad elevation Reid Sinnett on hand in reserve.

  • Joe Burrow QB | CIN

Bengals' Joe Burrow: Expected to face Rams

Burrow (calf) is expected to play Monday night against the Rams, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network and Kelsey Conway of The Cincinnati Enquirer report.

Burrow approached the contest officially listed as questionable after being a limited participant in practice Friday and Saturday, but it appears as though he will play through his strained right calf Monday. Official confirmation of the QB's Week 3 status will arrive once the Bengals' inactives are posted ahead of the team's 8:15 p.m. ET kickoff.

  • Tanner McKee QB | PHI

Eagles' Tanner McKee: Designated emergency QB

McKee (coach's decision) is inactive but will serve as Philadelphia's emergency quarterback for Monday's game at Tampa Bay.

Though technically inactive, McKee will suit up and be ready to step under center in case both Jalen Hurts and Marcus Mariota go down with injuries in Week 3. Otherwise, he'll continue to wait for his first regular-season NFL action.

  • Reid Sinnett QB | CIN

    Bengals' Reid Sinnett: Officially elevated

Cincinnati elevated Sinnett from its practice squad to the active roster ahead of Monday's game versus the Rams.

Starting quarterback Joe Burrow wants to suit up Monday, but there's still a chance he could be sidelined or otherwise limited in Week 3. Enter Sinnett, who profiles as the Bengals' third option at the position behind Burrow and Jake Browning in case something disastrous happens. He's yet to play a regular-season NFL snap.

  • Reid Sinnett QB | CIN

Reid Sinnett: To be elevated Monday

Cincinnati is expected to elevate Sinnett from its practice squad to the active roster ahead of Monday's game versus the Rams, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.

With starting quarterback Joe Burrow (calf) a game-time call for Monday Night Football, it makes sense for the Bengals to bring up Sinnett as a contingency plan. Any playing time Sinnett might see would be the first regular-season action of his NFL career.

  • Derek Carr QB | NO

Saints' Derek Carr: Viewed as week-to-week

Saints head coach Dennis Allen said Monday that Carr (shoulder) has a sprained AC joint and is considered week-to-week.

Allen noted that the team will evaluate Carr's progress throughout the week before making a determination on his availability for Sunday's game against the Buccaneers. Jameis Winston, who replaced Carr in the 18-17 Week 3 loss to Green Bay, would continue to start under center if Carr misses additional time. Wednesday's practice report will offer the first official determination of Carr's availability moving forward.

  • Raiders' Jimmy Garoppolo: Officially in concussion protocol

Garoppolo has been placed in the NFL's concussion protocol, coach Josh McDaniels revealed Monday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Garoppolo took a helmet-to-helmet hit from Minkah Fitzpatrick in the second half of Sunday's 23-18 loss to Pittsburgh, though it's unclear if that play was the cause of the possible concussion. The quarterback was able to finish the game but didn't attend post-game media sessions because he was being evaluated for a head injury. Those evaluations have resulted in Garoppolo being placed in the league's five-step concussion protocol. Garoppolo's progress through the protocol likely will be updated throughout the week, and if he's unable to return in time to face the Chargers in Week 4, Brian Hoyer would likely get the start, with Aidan O'Connell on hand to provide quarterback depth.
