Matt Barkley QB | JAC
Bills' Matt Barkley: Possible Week 10 starter
Vic Carucci of The Buffalo News states there's a decent chance Barkley will receive the start against the Jets after working with the starting unit at times during Friday's practice, coupled with the fact that Josh Allen (elbow) is listed as questionable.
Allen is clearly the team's best option, but he's questionable and the Bills have a bye in Week 11, so they might just take the conservative route with their franchise player. The team seems to have moved away from turnover-happy Nathan Peterman, so with Derek Anderson (concussion) already ruled out for the game, Barkley could be the only option left. Running back LeSean McCoy made some comments to the media Friday that may have tipped off the fact Barkley could be starting. All that said, the Bills would love it if Allen was 100 percent healthy, so with all the clues presented we'll place the odds of Sunday's start being 45 percent Allen, 45 percent Barkley and 10 percent Peterman.

Lamar Jackson QB | BAL
Ravens' Lamar Jackson: May take starting job
Jackson may take over the starting job for Week 11 against Cincinnati while fellow quarterback Joe Flacco recovers from a hip injury, Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reports.
Flacco is still in the process of seeking medical opinions, but his injury reportedly is serious enough to warrant some discussion of surgery or prolonged rest. The Ravens may want to use it as a convenient excuse for a quarterback change even if Flacco isn't in too much pain, as the team heads into a Week 10 bye at 4-5 after three consecutive losses. Selected at No. 32 overall in this year's draft, Jackson offers enough upside as a rushing threat to warrant ownership in all two-QB fantasy leagues and also some single-QB formats. It's anyone's guess what he'll offer as a passer, but there's no questioning his rare combination of size, speed and running instincts. A switch from Flacco to Jackson would probably be good news for Alex Collins and bad news for all the Baltimore pass catchers, with the team likely shifting its focus more toward the running game. Jackson's presence in the backfield might help open up lanes for Collins, whereas the current Baltimore offense has featured 42.1 pass attempts per game from Flacco while producing just 3.6 yards per carry.

Josh Allen QB | BUF
Bills' Josh Allen: Questionable for Sunday
Allen (elbow) is listed as questionable for Sunday's road game against the Jets.
Allen was a limited practice participant all week, marking his first activity since spraining his right throwing elbow Week 6. With a "questionable" tag for the Bills' upcoming visit to New York, he has a chance to return, though coach Sean McDermott told Joe Buscaglia of WKBW.com that the rookie's health is paramount, suggesting his status will come down to a game-time decision. The Bills have ruled out Derek Anderson (concussion), so the remaining quarterback options for this contest -- if Allen sits out one more game -- are the uninspiring Nathan Peterman and Matt Barkley.

Sam Darnold QB | SEA
Jets' Sam Darnold: Won't start, listed as doubtful
Darnold (foot) is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against the Bills.
Rich Cimini of ESPN.com relays via coach Todd Bowles that it's "possible" Darnold could suit up as the Jets' No. 2 QB on Sunday, but a more likely scenario is that the team promotes Davis Webb from the practice squad in order to back up Josh McCown this weekend.

Matt Barkley QB | JAC
Bills' Matt Barkley: Door open for potential start
Barkley could start Sunday against the Jets if both Josh Allen (elbow) and Derek Anderson (concussion) are unavailable, Joe Buscaglia of WKBW.com reports.
Anderson has already been ruled out for Week 10, and Allen, despite getting in three days of practice this week, is no lock to return after missing nearly a month. If Allen is ruled out, Nathan Peterman would presumably be next in line for the Bills, but head coach Sean McDermott would not commit to him getting the nod in that scenario. That leaves the door open for Barkley to see his first action since signing with the Bills in late October. Barkley has not appeared in a game since 2016, so he would not be a recommended fantasy option in many formats. However, with options thin in leagues that use two quarterbacks, he would at least garner consideration there if he does wind up with the starting job against the Jets.

Nathan Peterman QB | ATL
Bills' Nathan Peterman: Potential starting assignment up in the air
Head coach Sean McDermott would not commit to Peterman starting Sunday against the Jets in the event that Josh Allen (elbow) and Derek Anderson (concussion) cannot play, Joe Buscaglia of WKBW.com reports.
Anderson has already been ruled out for Week 10, so he will not be an option for the Bills this week. Allen has not played in almost a month, and although he will get three days of practice in this week, he is not a lock to play, either. That would put Peterman in line for another start, but McDermott's comments at his Friday morning press conference leave the door open for Matt Barkley to start if Allen ultimately is ruled out as well. Expect more details on the Bills' quarterback situation to emerge in the near future.

Josh Allen QB | BUF
Bills' Josh Allen: Will be limited Friday
Head coach Sean McDermott said Friday morning that Allen (elbow) will be limited at the Bills' final practice session of the week, Mike Rodak of ESPN.com reports.
Allen will get some work in for the third straight day, which bodes well for his chances of returning to action this week. However, McDermott did not commit to Allen starting just yet, and indicated the focus remains on Allen's health. Fellow quarterback Derek Anderson (concussion) has been ruled out for Week 10, so if Allen remains sidelined, either Nathan Peterman or even Matt Barkley, according to Joe Buscaglia of WKBW.com, will get the nod instead.

Joshua Dobbs QB | DET
Steelers' Joshua Dobbs: Negative yards in mop-up role
Dobbs completed one of two passes for minus three yards during Thursday's 52-21 win over Carolina.
The second-year quarterback relieved Ben Roethlisberger with the game well in hand to play the final two offensive series, the second of which he didn't even attempt a pass. He looked like what one would expect from someone who has attempted just three passes in his career, but is still the leading candidate to take over the Pittsburgh offense if Roethlisberger were to get hurt.

Jimmy Garoppolo QB | LAR
49ers' Jimmy Garoppolo: Ditches one of his crutches
Garoppolo (knee) was spotted in the 49ers' locker room using only one crutch to move about, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.
Since undergoing surgery Oct. 3 to repair the torn ACL in his left knee, Garoppolo had been walking with assistance from two crutches. It only marks a minor step forward in the rehab process, but Garoppolo's comfort with using only one crutch suggests he's progressing as anticipated in the one-month mark in his recovery. The 49ers probably won't have a better idea of Garoppolo's outlook for training camp and/or the start of the regular season until they hold OTAs in the spring.

Josh Allen QB | BUF
Bills' Josh Allen: Turns in another limited practice
Allen (elbow) was listed as a limited participant in Thursday's practice.
According to Matthew Fairburn of The Athletic, Allen continued to sport a protective brace over his sprained right elbow, which has kept him out of action the last two games. There seems to be more optimism about Allen's health this week after he was able to practice on back-to-back days in limited fashion, leaving the door open for him to potentially start Sunday against the Jets. In order for that to be realistic, however, Allen will likely need to fit in more work in full team drills, as he was only going through individual positional work during the portion of Thursday's practice that was open to the media, per Sal Capaccio of WGR Sports Radio 550 Buffalo. If neither Allen nor Derek Anderson (concussion) -- who didn't participate in practice Thursday -- is cleared to play this weekend, Nathan Peterman would likely be in store for another start.
