Browns' Deshaun Watson: Engineers another comeback win
Deshaun Watson completed 25 of 36 passes for 308 yards with an interception in Sunday's 27-24 win over the Titans. He added 19 yards and a touchdown on three carries. While he didn't throw a TD pass for a second straight game, Watson produced a season high in passing yards and scored his first rushing TD since Week 2 of the 2024 season on a nine-yard scamper in the fourth quarter. Watson also led his fifth game-winning, fourth-quarter drive of the year, completing another comeback after the Cleveland Browns fell behind 14-0 early. The veteran QB will take a 7:3 TD:INT through seven games into a Week 8 meeting with the Steelers.

Browns' Deshaun Watson: Compiles 193 scrimmage yards in win
Deshaun Watson completed 16 of 26 passes for 164 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions and added eight carries for 29 yards in the Cleveland Browns' 13-10 win over the Ravens on Sunday. As Watson's numbers suggest, he didn't do anything of particular note as either a passer or runner, but the veteran signal-caller did avoid turnovers despite taking five sacks. That alone helped keep Cleveland in a game in which the Browns faced a 10-0 halftime deficit, and he was then able to lead fourth-quarter touchdown and field-goal drives that completed the comeback. Watson has surprisingly helped the Browns to a 4-2 record, and he's provided a solid 7:2 TD:INT and 196 rushing yards along the way. He'll look to carry over the momentum into a Week 7 road clash with the Titans on Sunday.

Browns' Deshaun Watson: Inaccurate in Week 5 loss
Deshaun Watson completed 15 of 33 passes for 155 yards and a touchdown while rushing six times for 40 yards in Sunday's 17-12 loss to the Jets. He also lost a fumble.Watson orchestrated a go-ahead touchdown drive in the fourth quarter for the fourth consecutive game, giving the Cleveland Browns a 12-10 lead with a 29-yard touchdown pass to Denzel Boston with 6:15 remaining. Cleveland's defense held up to win the previous three games, but that streak was snapped here, as the Jets scored a go-ahead touchdown with 3:01 remaining while the Browns failed to score on their final three drives, the last of which ended with a Watson fumble on fourth down. Watson and the Browns will take a 3-2 record into a key Week 6 home game against the Ravens.

Browns' Deshaun Watson: Continues ascent with third straight win
Deshaun Watson completed 24 of 33 passes for 268 yards with one touchdown and one interception while rushing seven times for 22 yards in the Cleveland Browns' 27-24 win over the Steelers on Thursday. He also committed two fumbles, losing one.Watson's rather unlikely comeback season continued in the primetime spotlight Thursday against a division rival, with the embattled veteran ultimately besting future Hall of Famer Aaron Rodgers. Watson's late third-quarter fumble on a sack by T.J. Watt didn't result in any Steelers points, but his interception on Cleveland's ensuing possession on a deep pass intended for Denzel Boston did lead to Pittsburgh's penultimate touchdown of the night. Watson was otherwise impressive, recording his highest passing yardage total since Week 3 of the 2023 season. Watson connected with seven different targets overall, and his one scoring strike went to Harold Fannin from two yards out late in the second quarter. Watson now boasts a 69.6 percent completion rate -- his highest since the 2020 season in Houston -- and a 6:2 TD:INT alongside 127 rushing yards heading into a Week 5 road matchup against the Jets on Sunday, Oct. 11.

Browns' Deshaun Watson: Comes up clutch late in upset victory
Deshaun Watson completed 16 of 30 passes for 144 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions while rushing 11 times for 45 yards in the Cleveland Browns' 21-18 win over the Panthers on Sunday. He also threw a two-point conversion pass. While Watson was anything but efficient through the air for the majority of the afternoon, the veteran signal-caller avoided turnovers and fired a pair of key touchdown passes to Harold Fannin, including a game-winning scoring toss with 1:48 remaining on which Watson scrambled to buy himself time before releasing the ball on the run. Watson's mobility also played a key part throughout earlier portions of the game, as he was second on Cleveland in rushing yards with his highest total since Week 9 of the 2020 season while he was still with the Texans (he'd also rushed for 45 yards in Week 1 of the 2023 season). Watson is still clearly a work in progress in head coach Todd Monken's offense, but he appears to have an increasingly firm hold on the starting job heading into Thursday night's Week 4 divisional home clash against the Steelers.

Browns' Deshaun Watson: Makes strong case in upset win
Deshaun Watson completed 24 of 30 passes for 238 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions while adding seven rushes for 22 yards in the Cleveland Browns' 23-19 win over the Buccaneers on Sunday. The proverbial vultures seemed to be surrounding Watson already after an ugly Week 1 loss to the Jaguars, but the oft-maligned veteran signal-caller preserved his starting job for the moment with Sunday's weather-delayed upset victory. Watson ran the Browns offense with a steady hand throughout the afternoon, avoiding turnovers while navigating a pair of sacks and connecting with Denzel Boston (55 yards) and Blake Whiteheart (17 yards) for his pair of touchdown passes. Watson has completed a stellar 76.9 percent of his passes and posted a 3:1 TD:INT through two games, and he'll next take on the Panthers in a Week 3 home matchup next Sunday.

Browns' Deshaun Watson: Likely to remain starter for Week 2
Head coach Todd Monken said Monday that he anticipates sticking with Deshaun Watson as the Cleveland Browns' starting quarterback for Week 2 against the Buccaneers, Chris Easterling of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.Watson will retain the starting job, despite a poor showing Sunday in the Browns' 34-10 season-opening loss to the Jaguars. While making his first regular-season appearance since Oct. 20, 2024, Watson completed 16 of 22 pass attempts for 205 yards, one touchdown and one interception while rushing six times for 38 yards. Upon reviewing film of the game, Monken said he saw enough positives from Watson to stick with him as the team's starter, though the 31-year-old quarterback likely won't have much job security.

Browns' Deshaun Watson: Ugly season debut Sunday
Deshaun Watson completed 16 of 22 passes for 205 yards with one touchdown and one interception while rushing six times for 38 yards in the Cleveland Browns' 34-10 loss to the Jaguars on Sunday. He also fumbled once but recovered.Watson put together a deceptively impressive 72.7 percent completion rate, but the numbers were largely empty in the context of a 24-point loss. Even Watson's one touchdown pass rang somewhat hollow, as it came with 1:52 remaining and the game well out of reach. While the 46-yard scoring strike to rookie Denzel Boston saw Watson flash some encouraging arm strength and accuracy, he and his offensive teammates could have another tough assignment on their hands in a Week 2 road matchup next Sunday against a Buccaneers defense that can be highly aggressive with its blitzes.

Browns' Deshaun Watson: Named Cleveland's starting quarterback
The Cleveland Browns named Deshaun Watson their starting quarterback Monday, multiple sources tell NFL reporter Jordan Schultz.Watson won out in a job battle with Shedeur Sanders, after the quarterbacks alternated starts in the Browns' first two preseason contests. After an efficient showing in the preseason opener against the Bears (11-for-15 for 126 yards), Watson was unproductive over his four second-half drives in Saturday's 31-7 exhibition loss to the Bills, completing just five of 12 throws for 36 yards and an interception. The Browns were apparently encouraged enough from what they've seen from Watson over the course of training camp and the first two preseason tilts to move forward with him as their starter heading into the regular season, but he'll most likely be on a short leash. Since joining the Browns in 2022, Watson has posted a lowly 33.1 QBR while being limited to 19 total games due to injuries, including a torn right Achilles tendon and a subsequent re-rupture that kept him out for the entire 2025 season.

Browns' Deshaun Watson: Starting QB decision expected Monday
Deshaun Watson will learn Monday if he or Shedeur Sanders will be named the starting quarterback for the Cleveland Browns, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN reports. The two quarterbacks have gone back and forth on reps during the preseason. Watson started the first half of Cleveland's preseason opener, but then he didn't play until after halftime when Sanders started in Saturday's 31-7 preseason loss to Buffalo. The 30-year-old has completed 16 of 27 passes for 162 yards and zero touchdowns to one interception through two exhibition game appearances. With neither quarterback obviously pulling away in the competition this preseason, it's possible that whoever is named the Week 1 starter could be on a short leash. Cleveland will open its 2026 campaign versus the Jaguars on Sunday, Sept. 13.
