The Texans promoted Hunt from the practice squad to their active roster Saturday, Mark Berman of Fox reports.

The 23-year-old played in seven games for the Texans last season, including one start. He finished the season with 96 rushing yards on 17 carries, and 49 yards through the air on six receptions. Starting running back Lamar Miller is currently nursing a shoulder issue, and reserve Jonathan Grimes is listed as questionable for the Sunday's matchup with the Jaguars. Hunt figures to provide depth at running back for for the Texans.
