Seahawks' DeeJay Dallas: Slated for change-of-pace role

Dallas is expected to serve as the top backup behind starting running back Rashaad Penny in Tuesday's game against the Rams, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.

Seattle elevated Josh Johnson from the practice squad to give the backfield a third option, but there aren't any other threats to the No. 2 role after Alex Collins (illness) and Travis Homer (illness) weren't reinstated from the reserve/COVID-19 list for the Week 15 contest. Adrian Peterson (lower back) wasn't promoted from the practice squad either, so unless the Seahawks are willing to give Johnson his first NFL snaps, Dallas looks like he'll be the top change-of-pace option. Look for Dallas to see most of his reps on passing downs, where Homer has typically replaced Peterson, Collins and Penny this season.
