Free agent running back Ryan Mathews agreed to a three-year, $11.5 million contract with the Eagles that includes $5 million guaranteed, reports ESPN's Adam Schefter. Mathews joins a backfield that must replace LeSean McCoy but includes Darren Sproles and Chris Polk.
Mathews, 27, spent his first five seasons in San Diego, rushing for a career-high 1,255 yards in 2013. An ankle injury limited him to six games last season.
