King (coach's decision) is inactive but will operate as the Panthers' emergency third quarterback Sunday night versus Detroit.
King will remain the team's No. 3 QB for the fourth straight week to open the 2026 campaign. The rookie will only be eligible to enter the game if both starter Bryce Young and backup Kenny Pickett are removed with injuries.
