Toney (knee) remained absent from practice Wednesday, Matt McMullen of the Chiefs' official site reports.
Though general manager Brett Veach previously said last week that he felt good about Toney's chances of being ready for the Chiefs' Sept. 7 regular-season opener versus the Lions, assistant GM Mike Borgonzi noted Wednesday that the team isn't inclined to hurry the wideout back until he's 100 percent, per Matt Derrick of ChiefsDigest.com. At this stage, Toney looks unlikely to play in either of the Chiefs' remaining two preseason contests.
