Johnson signed a contract with the Chiefs on Friday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
The Chiefs are still without Pro Bowl safety Eric Berry, who has been a no-show in camp due to contract negotiations. Johnson played in 14 games last season for Washington, totaling 27 tackles. The 28-year-old will compete for a preseason starting role in Berry's absence.
